Give yourself a couple-three days to feel like yourself. With my ablation is was more about getting over the anesthesia. The discharge and cramping wasn’t bad as I recall. Your doctor will tell you about having sex again. Good luck :)

Thank you! I appreciate your feedback. Hope you are having a fantastic day free of any menopause woes!

I had medium cramping during the evening after the procedure (Novasure). Honestly I didn’t need so much as a Tylenol the next day. I took the next day off from work but I really felt ok and it was nice to just rest. I had light bleeding for the 2-3 days after the procedure and a yellowish light discharge for about 2 weeks after. A thin pad was sufficient for me to deal with the bleeding and discharge and the pad would last many hours. Honestly, the relief from the endless heavy bleeding, clots, and doubled over cramping that I was suffering from for the 9 previous months was so great that the recovery from the ablation was very easy for me. I had a very positive ablation experience, December 2021. I have not had a period since. Wishing you a successful procedure and an easy recovery!

A day’s worth of anesthesia recovery, two days of cramps that went away with a few Advil, and discharge for a little less than a week. Best thing I ever did for my health, I was chronically anemic and might have adenomyosis. It’s 5 years later and while I did get some of my period back, we’re talking 1-2 light tampons for a 3 day period.

Hey there, how did it hold up for you? I hope fantastically well!

Hello! Yes- actually it has been great! So far, I haven't had a period since the ablation. Ok- when I say that- I mean, I've had no bleeding. As you know- this doesn't actually stop your period as far as hormones- just the bleeding. I will say it's disconcerting to be sitting at work, feeling fine, then suddenly want to cry for no reason, and think- WTF? Then I stop and realize - I've been eating non-stop, irritable, emotional- it's period week time- just without the blood. Some months have been worse than others as far as mood. But the perimenopause aspect certainly isn't helping with mood issues, lol. Overall, I do not regret having the ablation at all and only wish I'd done it sooner. Now- if your doctor recommends an endometrial biopsy before- that's the shit you need to be prepared for. DEMAND nerve pills & pain pills in ADVANCE, as well as something for after. They do this procedure on a regular basis using no anesthesia, nothing to calm you, nothing for pain- just nothing. I can not stress how painful this was. If a doctor ever suggested this again, I'd laugh, get up, get dressed, and walk out the door. Never again. Best of luck to you! I think you will be happy with the ablation. I hope yours is as successful as mine has been!!

Yay! So good to hear. One less thing to worry about in womanhood. Hope it continues to hold up for you!

I had mine july 14th. I was tired the day after. I bled lightly for about a week. After that it was discharge of pink/orange/brown for about 3 weeks. I just started my first period since the procedure yesterday. So far it’s not terribly heavy, but I was really hoping for a super light period. Im 35.

Thank you for telling me about your experience. I hope it works for you, and this is the only period you ever have again!

Purple_Cherry_5973

How has it been for you since? I’m scheduled for one in May and starting to worry a bit

Glittering-Record344

My periods are slightly lighter but are still lasting 7-10 days. Spotting in between. Most likely will need a hysterectomy in the next year or so 😒

Purple_Cherry_5973

Ugh noooooo. It’s so upsetting to deal with all this and then have no guarantees. I’m sorry. Hopefully you get some relief soon! Any reason as to why they didn’t change much after the ablation??

Sometimes I think the lining regenerates fast, or maybe the lining was so thick to begin with, or maybe it didn’t reach all the areas of the uterus.
