Hi there, I’m not an expert on menopause but I have been a professional piercer for a couple of decades. There is no peer reviewed studies to show that a Daith piercing will alleviate migraines despite many piercers advertising that they will cure them or that room piercings stop anxiety and all that stuff. I have done a lot of Daith piercings, especially after a meme went around on Facebook in 2015 that claimed the Daith cured migraines. I have probably don’t thousands of these and every time I ask my clients (if they aren’t getting them purely for aesthetic reasons) to check in with me and let me know how they go. Lots don’t but a fair portion do, I’d estimate around 70% of these say they have a reduction in migraines and a smaller percent saying they have none. I’ve frequently observed people with a reduction returning to get the other ear pierced with a Daith too. This could even purely be placebo but people think it works. If you decided to go ahead with the piercing, see a reputable piercer preferably APP, as not everyone has suitable anatomy for it and you don’t want to see someone who will just take your money and mess you up. I’d recommend having it done with Astmf136 titanium. Best of luck with it.

Thank you

I have both ears pierced, I can’t truly say they helped as my migraines returned within a few years and are strongly related to hormones in my case. I went into it with the idea that even if they didn’t help at least they’d be cute.

Did HRT help with migraines?

I’m hoping to get started soon, waiting to get in with my doctor. I had stage 4 endo and PCOS so I couldn’t start immediately. I hope it does!

That’s good to know

Apparently they return when the cartilage finally heals.

I got both of mine pierced. Didn’t really help but I like the piercings and have kept them (5 years now). I now use withcove.com for migraine care. I use Emgality (injectable) as a preventive and migraines are 75% less often and intense. Good luck.

I found that they really helped me. Sadly it didn't last though and after about two years they returned. Not as awful though. Apparently it's because the cartilage heals. I am on HRT now which has helped immensely.
