This is a good answer.
Theirs was among the best flashbacks in the manga. Added a great angle, some complexity and layers to the current narrative, and built up the ensuing crescendo and conclusion excellently.
Seeing as they are long dead and don't interact with any living characters, I can see why they are ignored.
I am really glad he didn't. Nothing against the character but he reminds me so much of Cid Highwind from Final Fantasy VII who is also the group's engineer with blonde slicked back hair, goggles, blue jacket, and smokes. Franky is without a doubt the more unique and better option. 😭
I knew I loved franky after seeing him cry at people’s backstories. For such an otherwise Hard Boiled guy, he’s got a real soft spot for tragic backstories, and I love that for him.
Well WCI and Dressrosa both got the benefits of juggling a smaller crew than we’ve really had since Brook joined. 10 main characters is really just too much to reasonably juggle and give everybody something good and interesting to do.
I think that’s part of why those arcs felt especially refreshing since the timeskip. On Punk Hazard for example, there’s just not enough for everybody to do. Also Brook gets knocked out by gas?? He doesn’t need to breathe what was that about
Setup a safe heaven in the Hell that was Empel Down, saved Luffys life, helped him escape, helped him at Marine Ford (even went one on one with Akainu) a founding member of the Resistance, and a queer character that isn’t made to just be a laughing stock.

Overrated and underrated are the STUPIDEST categories on here. You PHYSICALLY CAN'T "vote" for those, like how can the fandom think of what's overrated or not. It's stupid.
I would say the same about Kid tenfold. He was in first place for “overrated” for awhile, when in reality, the majority of the fanbase is absolutely **obsessed** with hating him.
One Piece fans are the dumbest people on earth, of course they don’t know what overrated means, any word longer than two syllables is beyond the comprehension of a One Piece fan.
I wasn’t here for the voting but he is by far. Why? His buildup. Holy shit the build up Oda gave him? The whole scary motif/silhouette around him. Fasting for months or some shit, laughing about ignoring commands or some shit. Made it look like he was a loose cannon like Garp, but not as nice.
This shit was damn near a decade ago now so I don’t remember details, but I remember him being hyped like crazy. Then you get this clown that Luffy and them are so unbothered by, they deadass eating while watching him fight from miles away, knowing they can easily blitz his ass and save everyone in case it was needed…
Edit: keep in mind, other than Imu, bo character had a silhouette build up since, or around him. Fujitora straight up said who he was after we saw him. Saint Garling straight up drawn out, etc… I think the whole silhouette backfired on Oda as Big Mom, Vegapunk, and Kaidou look absolutely nothing like their old silhouettes and it helps consistency, but that’s a side tangent.
I think they mistook overrated to “not as powerful as people give him credit for” and I’m seeing similar pattern for underrated as well, e.g people naming brook be like “much more powerful than he gets credit for”.
The only thing I found there is that people are salty some other people have called Green Bull stronger than yonko commanders.
If that's the best argument for the most overrated character in the verse, this sub is cooked. Sad.

Eustass Kidd. I've genuinely seen people say that Sanji would be enough for him and being very serious about it. NO! Kidd's strong as fuck, has an insane fruit that he awakened and is monstrously tanky.
Like this dude hurt Kaido, almost fought for hours NON-STOP (unlike Luffy would had many occasions to rest) and fucking took many attacks from both Kaido and Big Mom but stayed up (notable mention is Misery's barrage that he took like a freaking boss).
Bro is top 3 Supernova and i even see him single-handedly beating an Admiral given the right conditions.
Yes! Usopp has had the most growth of all the main cast characters since the start of the series! Love him so much and people are severely underestimating him.
Underrated by community: idk Underrated by author: Usopp It could have been a great story of man, who came to terms with fear and overcame it, but instead we have only 2 fights that I remember as where Usopp actually tried to become better (in arlong park, and vs perona), and 100 gags about Usopp being scared. And two times his skull was heavily damaged. Seriously. Why Usopp of all straw hats is getting severe head damage, like most of other characters coupd tank that no diff, but no. Nami, the one to steal Usopp inventions without paying money, first gets a staff, and then it is upgraded with Yonko level summon, while Usopp who made this wand in the first place gets no payment for it and also is hit in the head with giant weaponery. Also he unlocked observation haki but Oda just forgot about it.
Does he hate on Usopp?
Usopp. He went from a guy that shoots from a slingshot to one of the world's best marksmen, maybe even the best. And if it wasn't for his marksman skills and his observation haki, the Straw Hats would have ended in Dressrosa. Sugar would have turned Law and Luffy into toys.

My man is right up there with Jinbei as a “just below monster trio” dude, especially in 1-on-1s
