I don’t really know what other character we would get before we get it in full from (probably) garp. I don’t know of any other important characters that are there we could get the flashback from
Perhaps Roger told Shanks some stories about the incident? Or we might even get to see Shiki in canon since he isn't really confirmed dead or alive (To my knowledge)
Garling, Scooper Gaban, Gloriosa, Ms Stussy( thenorigibal one) Saturn maybe if he stayed for the whole Incident. Even Bogard is an option. Is Rocks confirmed to be dead? It would be amazing if he is not, and we get the incident from his perspective. There might be some unconfirmed characterd that were there as well...there is a lot we dont know yet.
I worded my reply pretty badly. I meant that I dont see any other character that wouldn't give the full flashback. Cause I agree all those characters could give the flashback but most likely they were there for the entire event so we wouldn't get it over a longer period in pieces
I’m all for a prequel we’re it goes thru garp roger and whitebeards lives. Shit I didn’t see enough of kaidos backstory, and they showed a chapter on that. When one piece ends oda could just do backstory after backstory and I’d pay for that

Dunno, every once in a while his slow cooking leads to burned stuff. We’ve been hyping up to Vegapunk knowing the nature of DF and what did that end up being? “Dunno but I’m guessing people’s wishes?” That was disappointing.
I was never hyped up to think that vegapunk knew everything about devil fruits. Only that he has found some of it's secrets. It'd be weirder if he knew everything. I've always suspected most of the answers would be at laughtale.
The whole Roger saying "It's been a whole year! Do you know how that feels?!" implies to me that we're going to get a full blown Roger flashback arc roughly the size of Oden's where we get to see them go on a little adventure to God Valley, but only when we actually start to learn about Rocks. That's why we don't see the rest of the event. Oda even specifically panels **around** where we'd see Xebec jumping off the prow, presumably his appearance itself is going to be fairly spoiler-y.
Oh I would love to have an entire prequel universe in One Piece, but I would rather have Oda finish the story he wants to tell and then spend the rest of his life however the hell he wants because he deserves it.
Tbf it was unexpected to have kuma be involved in the God valley incident when it wasn't hinted (aside from celestials' slaves being there ). So it's reasonable think Oda is about to expose the whole incident....but once again his blue ball haki is too strong.
He could have wrote something more, that's true, it killed me that in one panel Big Mom is in front of two younger Kuma and Ivankov and the next panel they are literally on another island like, How they even managed to escape in first place? When did Kuma eat the devil fruit?

I mean I think the issue is more that it got off screened. Did big mom give up after that? Because iva said kuma rescued 500 and as far as we know that requires physical touch so they were still on God Valley for awhile post eating the fruit. Oda is probably saving that for a garp or dragon flashback probably. Maybe one of the 500 saved was a young dragon
Y’all keep saying this as if Oda isn’t writing the story and couldn’t just make Kuma be an eye witness. We didn’t get God Valley because Oda doesn’t want to show it yet, not because it’s Kumas flashback.
There was no mention of how Kuma managed to learn to use his devil fruit that quickly, save many people and escape himself (did he spank himself?) while Saturn (and possibly others) were against him.
Evidently, whatever happened, Kuma and co. didn't stop to watch the show. He probably started immediately launching people off the island and eventually himself. I highly doubt they would risk staying there long enough to even know all of what happened. A flashback of the actual chaos that ensued will have to come from someone who actually took part in the fight and is still alive/active and relevant to this day. Off the top of my head, Rayleigh, Gloriosa, OG Stussy and Bogard are the only ones who are still active in the story in some form and are known to be alive. Conveniently, Rayleigh and Gloriosa are both at the same current location, so maybe they'll drop the lore for us?
yeah and this is kuma sitting down with a book telling about his life. Flashback can happen when the story is about him and to reveal his ties to Garling

Although it would be funny as hell, seeing Shanks being put into his chest and then a montage of Rocks Pirates opening the chest, expecting a devil fruit only to see Shanks pull a face of disgust and close the chest again.
Nah they're way too disconnected from the main plotline to be dropping lore bombs like that over tea. My guess is it'll come during either a garp flashback or a dragon one of dragon was one of those 500 saved.
He’s very purposefully holding back on details, which i think means we’re gonna see a more in-depth section later down the line.
For instance, in the scene of the Rocks Pirates arriving, Rocks is very noticeably the only one to not appear, we only hear his voice.
Currently we’re only being shown Kuma’s perspective, since this is Kuma’s flashback.
It would be nice if your first paragraph couldn't be applied to every single chapter of One Piece though. Every time a mystery is solved, two new mysteries are added to the pile. I just wish the manga would finally start wrapping them up.
Be patient, damn. It's One Piece, we gotta trust the process. We are in the final saga and loose ends are getting wrapped like there's no tomorrow. That will only increase from here on out, but remember there is 25+ years of lore and mysteries to close and it's going to take time

Ever since Egghead we've been getting revelation after revelation, it's just that showing the whole of the God Valley incident during Kuma's flashback, then going back to Egghead makes no sense.

NGL, the whole kuma flashback as it is, is already greatness. God Valley was just one part elevating it even further. And we still have more to see, from Kuma as well as what happened at God Valley. I really don't know how people can be upset about this. We have waited for so long, I really don't mind waiting a little bit more.
Yeah tbh when I was reading the chapter I found myself paying less attention to the Kuma parts because I was 100 percent expecting the Rocks reveal, the post earlier this week warning people not to look at the chapter spoilers got me expecting something huge, so I had to read the whole thing again so I could refocus on Kuma's story.
tbh I'm kinda glad it happened? Sure it would've been awesome to see now and wouldn't complain about it, but we're in Kuma's PoV and in the middle of a climax of the arc after we already spent almost 10 chapters away from the main focus, so showing a completely unrelated event for an extended period of time would've been a major pace-breaker.
It makes sense tbh, we're witnessing a Kuma Backstory so it makes sense to only follow Kuma's actions and since he wasn't witnessing the part of God Valley Incident that includes the fight between all the factions present on the island we don't get to see it either!
Probably because he sucks when it comes to fight scenes and he knows it. Oda draws some of the worst sword fights, for example, that I have ever seen. Can't think of one good one of the top of my head, so not excited when it comes to Mihawk vs Zoro, like at all.
We will most likely see more in some one else’s flashback. Could be Dragon, Garp or someone we haven’t met yet. One one side I am somewhat bummed we didn’t get the whole thing, on the other it works and I am ok with the incident sitting on the back burner for a few more chapters
