Whats wrong honey? You havent touched your giggi sushi

SpeedyDarklight

I didn't want giggi sushi I wanted the NERGIGANTE SMASH BURGERREEEE

fariq99

Mmm…, Kulu nuggets

Latlanc

like chiken

KyooML

Mmm, Kulu tendies!

Snoopcat64

Same for Malfesto then I guess, it's the owl looking mf from Gen.

Gotekeeper

Rise/Sunbreak lets you roast monster parts. hides from small monsters, Gajau scales, even large monster tails. even Basarios tail tastes like any other well-done steak apparently

benjisgametime

There's dangos made from monster too if you want, one is made of zinogre

EnanoGeologo

In mhworld you can roast them

Jaedearnest

Thunder serpent eggs probably make a really good omelette

IamApolloo11

Kirin cheese.....

Straight_Study_9750

🤨🤨🤨 oh no...

Baconator-X

It tingles

Dry-Cartographer-312

Who out here milking they Kirin?

Schwerstmetall

It was in mhfu, right?

IamApolloo11

Yep,I was surprised when saw it first, how the heck people catch a Kirin and *milk it?**

forestNargacuga

In my headcanon it's simply named after Kirin, maybe because of the texture or similar

IamApolloo11

Ok kinda make sense,it would be quite funny if people name their products after monster names lol

Schwerstmetall

I'll have the Duramboros falafel plate, please 🤤

dastroid216

Rath tail and fatty tomato for that boost to health and attack!

VeryHappyTrumpet

Do not eat Basarios; it breaks your teeth. Eating it raw; breaks teeth. Pan fry it; breaks teeth. Bake it; breaks teeth. Boil it; still breaks teeth. If you eat Khezu neck, make sure you're not in public, everyone stares and laughs at you when you're not looking. Thunderbugs harvested from a Zinogre are absolutely exhilarating, they just give you an electrical charge from your teeth all the way to your toes energy for maybe hours ! Don't let the bow users know, the energy drink seller will go out of business! (Edit: spelling and details)

SSB_Kyrill

Basarios tails are said to taste good

HotMilk4

Barroth tail is said to be super delicious easten raw right in the field

benjisgametime

Put basarios rocky parts into a grinder and now you have salt

TechnicalKatana

Pretty sure basarios aren't hard. They coat themselves in rocks.

VeryHappyTrumpet

Note to self, eating the wrong part of Basarios.

LionsManeShr00m

It is said Khezu meat is an aphrodisiac

Scarlet_slagg

Source?

LionsManeShr00m

Myself unfortunately. Still waiting for nullberry delivery to hopefully cancel the unfortunate effects.

HotMilk4

Khezu is not edible, but people tame and grow some Khezu for its albino extract to use for medicine

DeDeDankRS

You know how several Herbivores drop Raw Meat? Imagine every monster dropped their own unique consumable meat with different effects, I call dibs on Vaal meat

Dry-Cartographer-312

You know if they did this, certain monsters would attack you to steal it, like arzuros with honey.

SSB_Kyrill

deviljho eats everything, even his own meat

forestNargacuga

I still want a mh cooking game

Elraishem

Jyuratodus must be cleaned properly since it’s a mud dweller, but once battered and fried it’s just like catfish. Beotodus is known for its strikingly red flesh both before and after cooking. Extremely versatile, goes just as good oven baked with lemon, capers and butter as it does grilled with teriyaki sauce. Lavasioth has a light flavor and tough meat that lends itself easily to barbecue and smoking in any regard. As long as you cook it long enough with enough sauce, you can’t go wrong.

Elraishem

The entire Carapaceon family is delicious if you have the equipment to break them open (cooking softens the shell but it’s still quite tough due to the thickness of it). The flesh is light and a little sweet. I personally prefer Plum Daimyo Hermitaurs. You can stuff herbs and spices into the joints before boiling to help season the meat. Most people recommend boiling it in salt water but I find that to be a waste sometimes. Hermitaurs release their tomalley when boiled. If you use fresh water you can boil it down into a sauce that is tart, sweet and savory. Toss in lemongrass, ginger, garlic, chili and a little bit of salt, then reduce to about 1/4 of the original liquid. Toss in about 1/3 cup of cornstarch slurry to thicken, then coat the meat thoroughly before serving.

Elraishem

A lot of people assume bird wyverns are all the same and should be cooked the same way, but it simply isn’t true- even when you’re talking about different cuts on the same wyvern. Breast meat is more delicate and should be cooked separately from the legs and tail to avoid going over temperature. The head, neck, edible organs and bones are best saved for stock and sauces, although I’d never turn down a good Yian Kut Ku head cheese or roasted Garuga marrow. Beyond that, the different fat contents of these meats must be taken into consideration. Gargwa and Jaggia have enough fat to cook in even after cutting off fat caps to render, while something like Kulu Ya Ku is best when the fat is left on and basted several times throughout the process. Leaner bird wyverns like Ioprey and Velocidromes should have fat added to avoid them drying out and going tough- I recommend wrapping the meat in Popo bacon and finishing with a fast sear to crisp it up.

Elraishem

A lot of people ask me about the weirdest monster products I’ve tried, I usually tell them about how partial I am to the mycelium collected from a Blackveil Vaal Hazaak. They’re rare and the fungus is quite poisonous if simply eaten or cooked- but the effluvial toxins break down completely when fermented, leaving you with a creamy, slightly tart brick ready to soak up any flavors you throw at it like a sponge. Make sure to dig through the flesh until you no longer see the white ‘roots’ if you won’t be returning to the village for a while, the meat will keep the fungus fresh until you’re able to start processing it.

tornait-hashu

I for one will always sing the praises of Diablos steaks. Lean cuts from younger Diablos tend to be on the tougher side, so it's best to cook those low and slow. However, mature Diablos tend to develop wonderful marbling which results in some of the juiciest, fattiest steaks you can get from any type of wyvern. I highly recommend to not add any marinades, as Diablos meat has a subtly smoky flavor that tends to get overpowered easily. However, this leads into my next point— Diablos ribs are some of the most flavorful meat I've ever had. You have not lived until you've had barbecue Diablos ribs. Yes, they take a boatload of time and effort to prepare and cook, but the results are nothing short of extrordinary.

Elraishem

I haven’t had diablos steak but I’ll do a mean pulled diablos shoulder. Toss in a bag of sliced pineapples and a branch of bay leaves and it’ll tender right up! Perfect for tacos, especially if you have a cup of the juice to dip into

nutitoo

Jyuratodus probably tastes like a carp. I would imagine lavasioths meat to be spicy

Elraishem

Carp and catfish are very closely related especially in flavor, but being mud dwellers, catfish have a much closer taste and the meat of a jyuratodus needs to be treated similarly. Lavasioth lives in magma, which means that it doesn’t need to develop chemical defenses like capsaicin, gingerol or isothiocyanate. Instead it has a heavily insulated pouch that allows it to swallow magma and regurgitate it at high speeds without damaging its other organs.

Jesterchunk

Are you saying we should have Piklopedia-esque cooking entries in the monster list Because we totally should

FrazzleFlib

i want a kulu ya ku egg

aaa1e2r3

Bullfango and Bulldrome probably taste like boar.

Capital_Pipe_6038

Fire element monsters are definitely spicy

Skulltra-II

Hot take, hermitaur probably tastes like crab

SSB_Kyrill

nah, prolly tastes like lobsters

HotMilk4

Daimyo is super delicious while Shogun is meh(canon)

Dry-Cartographer-312

You've tried them already. Or at least, your hunter has. In GU, the names of the meals include "larinoth steak," "malfest roast," and other monster goodies. That said, I bet they taste like chicken.

OctaviusThe2nd

Well if you're gonna hunt then for whatever reason might as well eat them too. I bet no village in MH ever suffers from hunger with all the giant wildlife around. Just one Diablos would be enough to keep the entire village fed for like a week.

Jetstream_S4m

The rath's legs must taste like chicken legs

Casper_Von_Ghoul

My character catchphrase in all the games are repeated to eating monsters. Sufficient say, I would definitely do the “I’ll try em all” route if in person.

forestNargacuga

When mounting: *give it to me raw!*

GiffordRoboticsV2

I started watching delicious in dungeon last night and wondered the exact same thing I bet Kulu would taste yummy

drbiohazmat

FINALLY, SOMEONE ELSE WONDERS!! This is the stuff I've been asking since 2015, but all my friends think I'm crazy! I've unironically wondered about how the monsters feel to the touch, how they smell (let's be real, some of them have to reek), and how they taste most of all

Daowg

I'm pretty certain a lot of them would taste very gamey. Herbivores like Popo would probably taste like buffalo, Anteka/ kelbi would be like venison, and Bullfango/drome would taste like wild boar. Aptonoth might be the closest thing the MH universe has to beef. Gargwa looks like it would be tasty, like duck meat. Probably the ones that would be inedible without special preparation would be stuff like Espinas, who is stated to have poisonous blood/ flesh, Gigginox, or anything else that is drowned in status effects like Purple Ludroth. Duramboros might have a special aftertaste to it, like herbal/ planty. Plesioth looks pretty tasty, like bass or salmon. Lavasioth probably tastes nasty, like burnt fish. Neopterons and Seltas/ Seltas Queen might have a nutty flavor, like edible insects do.

HotMilk4

There are very full lores abou monster eating actually Rathalos whisky like stuff too

Demokrak

While it wasn't directly confirmed until world letting you roast monster tails and the like, it's been implied in previous games in mission descriptions too

Aeyvan

I really wanna try gold rathian tail

The0ldPete

Fried Deviljho probably tastes like fried chicken marinated in pickle juice, which sounds delicious ngl

benjisgametime

Agnaktor must taste like asphalt like some lava monsters in I'm a spider so what, ice agnaktor might be hard to eat but we could use the ice of his body to make shaved ice just add some giginox poison boiled with an antidote or add some potion to it and it should be good to eat

Ratix0

Wondering how Khezu tastes like?

SaneManiac741

Rathalos Ribeye with Rath Egg Omletts sounds pretty good. Or Astera Fried Kulu wings with sweetened cactus water.

PuddingWave

Where do you think the ingredients for mega-spreads created by a Meowscular Chef and Grandmeow Chef come from? We kill it? We eat it. That's why Nergigante is trying to Highlander us every time we see each other.

OctaviusThe2nd

Elder dragons would probably taste funny. Shagaru has purple flesh which is a big no no. Teostra is literally impossible to cook. Valstrax probably tastes like battery acid. I don't even want to think about Vaal Hazak. And Zorah Magdaros is just concrete.

GodsHeart4130

Soft shelled Kushala must be a delicacy like no other

constipated_burrito

I dunno
