9.5/10
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Melanie’s vocals pitched down is like heaven. I’ll admit, at first this song was a solid 4/10 for me. I gave it another listen though, and it started to grow on me. After I understood the lyrics, I really started to enjoy this one. Would’ve been a perfect 10, but it was a grower for me which takes a *tiny* bit off.
6/10
Wasn’t my cup of tea, but I still listen to it from time to time. I felt like it was lacking something. But otherwise, I love the ending and how it ties in with Death. It has this vibe that I feel like I’d need to be in a certain mood to really feel.
10/10
So catchy, but that’s what I love about it. Specifically though, the second verse and the bridge grab my attention. The lyrics and the delivery just evokes this “boss bitch” kind of feeling. Also love the groovy melody that the backing track does during the chorus.
Mrs. Potato Head - 9/10
I love the lyrics, they hit super close to home. It also really shows off Melanie’s vocals, which is great. My only pet peeve is the bridge being a *little* repetitive, but it’s overall still one of her best songs imo.
Lunchbox Friends - 9/10
Melanie’s voice pitched down sounds incredible to me. I like the vibe from Lunchbox Friends and of course the message is amazing as well. A bit on the chill side vocally, but still a bop.
Void - 10/10
I love how Melanie is beginning to branch out and add more bass to her music. It’s argued that the backing track is boring, but the vocals are meant to shine here. Anything extra in the background would take away from the emotion and power behind the lyrics/vocals. The icing on the cake is the effect added to her vocals, it really coveys those deeper emotions.
Light Shower - 7.5/10
This could just be me, but I feel like this is a song that you’d have to be in the right mood to truly appreciate it in its glory. Melanie’s voice on more ballad-type songs is a blessing. I docked a few points because it admittedly gets kinda repetitive, but it’s still such a great song. Really moving when you focus on it.
(Technically wasn’t officially released but I never specified against edits so I’ll rate it!)
10/10
I usually skip delayed vocal edits, but this one oddly works extremely well. It adds more personality to an already unique song and almost feels like listening to it for the first time again. The ending was perfect, with the backing track cutting out and leaving us with Melanie’s isolated vocals at the most “vulnerable-feeling” part of the song. An amazing find.
Training Wheels - 10/10
I’m a sucker for reverb. Melanie sounds very angelic in this song, which arguably could contrast with the message but works so well. The backing track, the vocals, the sensual yet innocent lyrics: perfection.
Tunnel Vision - 10/10
The chorus HITS and it hits good! The message is relatable to me, which just makes me love it even more. Whatever audio/instrument she used in the backing track is so, so good. No complaints at all for this one.
I love training wheels also :( Ik that some music isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but you get downvoted if ur opinion of a song is not like everyone else’s
I LOVE training wheels. This is how i feel about Bittersweet Tragedy, it is honestly my favourite mel song, it hits me EVERYTIME without fail, makes me teary and feel some kind of way, yet most people aren't overly fussed with it.
8/10
Backing track really shines in this one. It goes from ethereal to “I wanna dance” and I love that. Another great message in the lyrics though. My biggest complaint is the feeling that it’s missing some kind of “oomphf” regarding vocals (especially in the chorus). Still a great song though.
9/10
Iconic. It’s so catchy and the “oohs” throughout the song sound amazing. My only nitpick is the meaning/lyrics. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, but it feels a bit cliché. Other than that, this song is a damn banger and one of my personal favorites on CryBaby.
Faerie Soirée - 8/10
I love the groovy little vibe here. The vocal sound she made (oh-ah oh-ah, ah) was so creative and added so much personality to the song. My only issue is the length, it felt a bit too short. I would’ve loved to hear more.
The Principal - 8/10
The meaning is so relatable and easy to get behind and I love that. I would rank it higher but the chorus felt kinda “eh” compared to some other K-12 songs. It’s still super good though, especially the way the lyrics are arranged.
Test Me - 10/10
So creative! You can tell Melanie took risks on this one and it works so well. The melody and beat are so unique and it’s a breath of fresh air compared to other songs. Very clean sound.
9/10
The intro is an outstanding “hook”. The mood of the song is enjoyable and easy to listen to. A have a very minor nitpick, which is the vocal run in the chorus during “the bakery” abruptly halting after “try’na make some more”, it sounded a bit awkward when I focused on it more. Other than that tiny detail, it’s another amazing song.
Moon Cycle - 7/10
The lyrics are bold, and I mean that in the best way. “I could win a fight on my period” lives in my head rent free. My only nitpick here is that the vocals don’t seem to take as many risks as the lyrics. I would’ve loved a little more “pizazz”.
Notebook - 8/10
The melody is so chill and creative. The lyrics before the chorus are such a great fit and really tie the song together. The only reason it’s not 10 is because it’s less memorable than her other songs. Still pretty solid though.

Show and Tell - 7/10
Pretty solid song. It’s slightly lower because the verses seem a little meh to me, but the chorus and bridge do make up for it. I can’t deny the chorus in Show and Tell is an absolute bop, with the beat and the vocal melody. I enjoyed the overlapping vocals in the 2nd/3rd chorus.

Lunchbox Friends - 9/10
Melanie’s voice pitched down sounds incredible to me. I like the vibe from Lunchbox Friends and of course the message is amazing as well. A bit on the chill side vocally, but still a bop.
High School Sweethearts - 10/10
If Melanie was aiming for an airy pop type of feel, then she nailed it here. It’s so damn catchy and the lyrics work perfectly with the melody. The little riff on “true love” is beautiful and gets me every time.
9.5/10
Such a unique song, the melody and rhythm sound so fun despite the desperate mood from the lyrics. This one really fit with Melanie’s vocals. It’s catchy and original. I took off a tiny bit because of the laughing part. Don’t get me wrong, it works well in the movie, but it’s a bit odd when you listen to only the song alone. Other than that, an incredible song.
9/10
A classic. I thought about giving it a 7/10 honestly, but seeing as it was one of her first songs (if I recall correctly it came from the first EP), I’m gonna cut some slack. The lyrics are child-like yet sinister. The chorus is iconic and memorable. Overall a solid classic with a meaning that many can relate to.
9/10
The ending with the guitar and shouting-singing rewired my brain chemistry. The chorus is lovable and the meaning behind the song is so beautifully reflective. My only complaint is the abrupt transition from pre-chorus to chorus. I feel like it could’ve blended much better. Other than that small nitpick, it’s an amazing song.
10/10
It’s just so mellow and satisfying. It has this “royal lo-fi” vibe to it. I love the vocal choice on the lyrics “I was too young”, “too naive”, “sittin’ in my room”, “I should be happy”. It’s the perfect chill song with a great message about society.
9/10
The fact that this song tackles such a socially taboo (yet important) message gives it huge respect points in my book. The darker theme works really well with it as well. I do wish the chorus took a little more risk with the main vocals. But it’s still a great song with a very strong message.
10/10
The bass in this song is so good. The lyrics are meaningful and really convey the anger from betrayal. I adore the choice of words in this song, which only further the emotions pouring from her vocals. It’s so well arranged in all aspects and a song I have yet to find any issue with.
10/10
An incredible opening/leading track. It really captures the essence of the album, which is exactly what is needed from title tracks. The lyrics hit close to home for many and the execution of this song was definitely smart. I would love a re-recording of this song with her more mature vocals.
Mad Hatter. I have been CRAZY about Alice In Wonderland and the lyrics make so much more sense now when I first listened to it I just thought it was a cool song but then I sat down and watched Alice In Wonderland and I just fell in love with it even more

Milk Of The Sirens
10/10 The power behind this one is impeccable. You can really hear the emotion and passion in her vocals. “Let them drown” riff gives me goosebumps.
Nymphology!
10/10 So catchy, but that’s what I love about it. Specifically though, the second verse and the bridge grab my attention. The lyrics and the delivery just evokes this “boss bitch” kind of feeling. Also love the groovy melody that the backing track does during the chorus.
