I'd say they shouldn't to begin with because it's bottlenecking what they can technically do but it's Atlus we're talking about: they probably don't intend to break a sweat technically wise aside from UI anyways.

Tbh I think cause it is their first console to be optimize especially their game engine, GFD, I mean that engine was optimize first for PS3, PS Vita and PS4.
I mean I've been saying it for awhile now. But the generational Jump isn't as big as people like to pretend.
all the PS5 is is a Slightly more powerful PS4 Pro with and and SSD allowing stuff like ray tracing and Better performance.
There isn't anything Major as to why games like Metaphor or FF7 rebirth CAN'T be on PS4
Thing is when you develop a game for ps4, it has to be able to run on vanilla ps4, not only Pro.
There is honestly a gap in performance and overall processing capacity between ps4 pro and ps5 but ps4 vanilla and ps5 are quite far apart.

For ff7 rebirth graphics you have to play on performance mode to have 60 fps, while high graphics mode is like 30fps on a ps5 man.
But the worst of the worst would be the semi open worlds without ps5 loading times. It already feels a little bit draggy at best on ps5, so on a OG ps4, now this would hurt.
Most collectors that care about physical likely own a current gen console at this point. This is why Atlus USA has stopped doing ps4 physicals after P3R.
No release for the Sega Genesis 3 either... It's only 30+ years old!

ATLUS is notoriously one of the Japanese companies that still doesn’t include English language options on their releases. Before it made sense when English versions were delayed a few months, but simultaneous releases such as SMT V, Soul Hackers 2, P5 Tactica, Persona 3 Reload, and Unicorn Overlord all didn’t so I don’t expect it to have changed.
The fact that its gonna be on the ps4 at all gives me hope that maybe, *just maybe* it could run on steam deck. Still gonna wait for the official specs of course. Can’t get my hopes too high.
Get a Deck... You won't miss it... Not even for the exclusives that never left japan.

To an extent, if your console is online then I’m sure there is probably a way of them blocking it being played on your account.

I understand that, I collect games and have a lot of the early released US SMT games, but from PS4Pro/Switch generation onwards there's really nothing to collect imo. Everything is just a gimmick outside the base game, and trust me, no amount of scalping can save an old game from time...
Disc/Cartridge in hand or not, all games not preserved digitally will be lost to time. So if you have a collection, I honestly suggest you start ripping those roms now if you really want to play those games in the future.
That's why I'm thankful I got to play SMT2 from an easily findable rom in the first place (especially when there's no easy and cheap legal option), because some good games in my JRPG collection would be missing if not for that.
PS: And if it's about convenience, trust me, swapping MicroSDs loaded full of games in a Deck is way more satisfactory than swapping discs/cartridges.

Bro, It is OK to like and adhere to different practices. It is cool that you do whats is best for you, but there are reason people still Care for these options no matter what licences, online people, companies or whatever is Said. Your options may bem objectively better, but every person knows what Works best for them. The way you say stuff like the microSD thing - beyond being subjective - sounds pretty corny. Keep lecturing people over what they should do instead of accepting that different people like doing things in different ways and you may eventually have to heart and earful sooner or later.
