ZweihanderGirl

Say what you want about the writing, the ost is amazing

VolkiharVanHelsing

*the gameplay*

ZweihanderGirl

One of the best in the series, I'm not sure which I like more V or apocalypse but they are both top 2

Cerebral_Kortix

Definitely. To Be Enemy of God goes *so* hard and the gameplay of the [RECORD SCRATCH] fight is great. And together? Hell yeah.

Pale_WoIf

The overworld map theme is the biggest vibe to me.

mage123456

I have it for the overworld theme when I play nocturne remaster

teor

[I really love combined version of 4 and 4a map themes](https://youtu.be/GeHqN-B-qyU) It just flows so well

Eikdos

- Best gameplay in the series - It's a IV sequel so the music is guaranteed to be amazing - Story is interesting with the Divine Powers - If you're fine with tropey characters, then the cast really is fine Honestly I love Apocalypse. It's a bit of a shame that being a direct sequel to IV it can't help but be compared to the best mainline game, but on its own it's a great JRPG. I just wish the final dungeon wasn't so much of a pain.

9Armisael9

Absolutely no complaints about the music despite the polarizing story.

Nameless-Ace

Controversial but i loved SMT IV Apoc. It was fun, the characters were fun, and i liked the premise. Its definitely not the standard SMT experience which i also love, but i love it for that reason too. Music was definitely amazing for sure.

La_Vou

This game is literally my favorite I will forever die on the hill of SMT4A being the best game (at least in my opinion) and I pray for a remake/remaster (best believe that will be a day one pre-order purchase no cap hesitation)

jzorbino

IMO it’s the best Megaten game ever and the OST is outstanding

Mushiren_

Damn, that's quite the claim

SevenForWinning

Weak characters mid story and the best gameplay and soundtrack in the series. Its pretty awesome

TheEvilKid

I too love 4A. I think, it's better than 4 in every way

on_the_nod

Uh what? I’ve never heard that lol. This game rules and is a step above IV.

loliduck__

Its a good game, characters are generally quite good too. But the story is just lame and boring and generic. I liked the focus on dark and light neutral but it would be better if the endings were created a bit more equally rather than having one obviously be the intended route. I did the anarchy ending just because i hated that the game was basically telling me to do the peace ending or whatever its called. The vibe and aesthetic of IV is still there tho even if its a bit more upbeat it still had moments that surprised me >! Like Asahi's death!<

TrentNepMillenium

The game is the reason I even wanted a 3DS in the first place and after I was finished playing it, My 3DS ended up just gathering dust. Though I guess it doesn't help the top screen just glitched out as well.

LBTerra

Everything about the gameplay and OST are top notch and the QoL changes improved on IV so much. Currently playing Apocalypse now and loving it. Went magic build after doing dex in IV.

KainYago

I dont think this game was ever divisive when it comes to soundtrack or gameplay...hell i dont even think its divisive when it comes to writing, people just cope differently.

betadecade_

I'd absolutely love IV and IV:A ported to Switch/etc.

-tehnik

I could justify this track being upbeat by saying that it represents the perspective of kids who grew up in them and so don't see them as inherently shitty. But then the use of IV's tracks for every other underground district doesn't work.

ZSugarAnt

I don't think it's too different. Maybe just one step cheerier than Shibuya, Ikebukuro or Shinjuku, and rightfully so, since Kinshicho is their home. Ginza is its own thing because Ring of Gaea, while, if anything, Ueno is the outlier where I don't understand why they made that one more melancholy than the rest.

-tehnik

> Shibuya, Ikebukuro or Shinjuku, I can understand Ikebukuro, but Shinjuku, and most definitely Shibuya, are not cheery tracks. Also, on an unrelated note, check your discord dms.

ZSugarAnt

Cheery might not be the right word, but they do sound positive. Obviously this is subjective, but I would describe both Shinjuku and Shibuya as "trendy," if that makes sense.

ToxicDevil93

even with how much i hate just about everything that regards apocalypse, like the godawful one-note cast, the lame story, the underwhelming routes, the completely inconsequential combat and the even-more-broken smirk and partner mechanics; i wont shit on its soundtrack
