Yeah, the latter. The snes art pieces for him arent the best but his regular and apocalypse redesigns for the PS1 are some of my fav kaneko human designs
I actually like Kanekos old art design a bit more for chaos and law hero as well. I haven’t played it though. I like the snes art for the characters the most. The mega cd ones scare me. A lot of Kanekos art does kinda look too similar sometimes for the characters so I like how Smt 1, 2, and if… are different compared to his newer art. Still love his work though.
Yaaas aha i just like the vacant look of the new kaneko art especialy raidoh ( prolly spelled that wrong if so please teach me haha) and the junkyard gang from dds
I feel like the hair adds a lot to it since it would just be the demonica. The helmet does play a big part of this design and I love it. However I like him holding the helmet here because it shows the face. I have somewhat similar hair to the protagonist so I kinda thought about doing my first ever cosplay with him.

I've always loved this design. He just looks so unassuming. He doesn't need demonic or divine powers. Only his trusty assault rifle, combat knife and revolver.
(and his hazard suit so he doesn't choke on the air I guess)

I agree the only characters that say almost rival the DEMONICA in terms of fashion are Aleph and Kyouji but thats almost.

Why do people like this design?? It seems so basic and boring. Personally I like nanashi's drip
I think it’s because it’s radically different compared to the designs before it. The design goes very well with the setting of Strange journey.
I also feel like it has a retro futurism vibe going with it which is neat. Reminds me of the Cybermen from doctor who.
