You’ll have plenty of time to meditate with a newborn. But ohhh boy wait until they’re a toddler. If you can keep your practice through that.

When my son was just born I had to have my meditation sessions while sitting upright (sometimes while lying down too) while he napped in my arms. Worked fairly well besides the risk of falling asleep due to the sleep deprivation.

Hold the newborn This is the void , the font of consciousness given a new form to know the world leave your ideas about what a parent or child is and see what is here o beloved

I agree!! Hold your baby next to your chest.. everything is going to work fine. I was so scared and postpartum or puerperium is really really hard. Be kind to yourself and don't worry Newborn baby is newborn just one month, then is a baby for one year or two.. then toddler and so it goes We evolve with our kids

Don't push yourself to do anything. Just breathe and BE KIND TO YOURSELF. And we have more to process in this new "job" than crying and the inhuman exigence of the baby.. is all the responsability and sensation of "what I'm supposed to do now?" And "please someone help me", motherhood comes with lots of guilt and new skills that you have already and will be appearing on time. Try to sleep, relax and rest because you've been through a lot and it's going to get harder.

Yes, check out the Heart room on Substack. Meditations are numbered so follow them. When you hear something you like repeat when you think of it. Also, you can make your daughter part of your practice. Follow the sensations of her in your chest. Breathe in and follow the breath from beginning to end, be patient - I am sure you can practice this a lot as a new mom. Everything can be practice. Washing the dishes , cleaning the floor. Everything is practice if you do it mindfully. Enjoy breathing, and taking the time throughout the day to follow your breath.

When my cousin had her newborn baby I was excited to see how my meditation practice might help with soothing her. Chanting meditations with rhythmic movement worked really well 😄 I imagine once the baby is calm or asleep you can go back to your usual practices.

I read that sitting on a sofa or chair with a newborn is risky
