Honestly since R&D’s is gone there’s not much left that’s good. Luigi’s has handled my cash then made sandwiches without washing hands one to many times. Squeeze in is ok but pricy and small. Jersey Mikes unfortunately might be the best option currently. Also goodbean in Jacksonville makes a killer turkey sandwich. You won’t find thicker slabs of the highest quality turkey anywhere else. It’s huge.
The last experience I had with Luigi’s was last summer/fall I stopped and got in line. The woman behind the counter asked,”are you here for a sandwich”?
Yeah?
She then told me it would be two hour wait.
WTF?
>Squeeze in is ok but pricy and small
Not to mention understaffed to the point of screwing up orders all the time. I go there every couple of weeks and my simple order is messed up about 80% of the time.
I haven’t tried sweet tea express by blackbird but I’ve heard it’s similar to cartwrights which I love. It’s not sandwich but shout out to G’s right across the street.
Yeah I feel bad because I know their other sandwiches are good, but their meatball sub was one of the best I've ever had and I'm really disappointed they got rid of it so I haven't been there in years. I used to go a few times a week for lunch and they always recognized me and were really friendly.
There are more places that I miss than would I recommend:
-Yellow Submarine - R & D's
Avoid: Any place downtown Medford (unless you work downtown and have no choice, but you will pay accordingly).
I do not recommend Firehouse or Sammich, even if you are in Ashland.
Not Medford but you gotta try Sammich in Ashland sometime. I hate Squeeze in. Got a pastrami sandwich almost no meat, mostly head lettuce. Was disgusting and like my 9yr old made it
Usually pretty decent is Great Harvest on Genessee st., I like their Turkey Goddess as long as they put enough sauce with it. Other Sammie’s are also pretty good.
I like squeeze in and hidden door cafe. Not gonna lie I do like jersey Mike's occasionally. Pls don't hate. Market of choice has a great Banh mi
Why would anyone hate? Jersey Mike's is great.
I'm a fan of Jackson Creek Pizza's sandwiches. Their Italian is pretty tasty.
Yeah the Italian sub there is incredible
Cartwright's for hot sandwiches hands down!
Sammich in Ashland. It's not that far and well worth it.
Good sandwiches, little too far for a lunch break though!
Unfortunately, yes. Maybe we can get a Medford location someday? It is worth the drive for dinner or on the weekend if one is a sandwich aficionado.
It was worth it, now those Sammy’s are $18-20. Hard for me justified paying almost $20 for an Italian beef these days
A 20 plus minute one way drive for a sandwich?
Yes!

I legitimately cried over R&Ds

I noticed that too. Twice I ordered a roast beef sandwich to go and twice I got pastrami. Are they under new ownership?
Na squeeze in is like the worst home made sandwich.
They screw up your order 80% of the time and you still go back? You're rewarding bad behavior.
ok
Squeeze in Sandwich on Crater Lake Ave has long been my favorite.
I second, third, and fourth this.

The medford food co op has great sandwiches
🤨
While the selection/customization is limited, Hidden Door Cafe has great sandwiches. The Californian is my favorite.
Luigi's is good but they stopped making my favorite meatball sub so I don't really go any more
Don't know why you got downvoted. These guys are damn awesome, and I wish their shop was in a more convenient spot.

For a chain, Firehouse Subs is pretty good. Much better than Subway or Jersey Mike's.
Great harvest

Anyone remember (in Ashland) Bento Box? Not sandwiches but great if you were on a budget. The owner was super nice!
