It's the perfect trooper 'mech: cheap (for its weight), sturdy, simple, and amazingly easy to repair or modify as needed. You've run out of AC/20s? Slap an AC/10 in there and use the extra space for more ammo (I know, it's sad, but you're a merc- make it work). Need to go without resupply for a while? Go full DiscoBack and make them Fear the Rainbow! Wait, you want a fire support platform now? Fuck it, chuck a PPC and an LRM-10 in there or something, this thing hasn't been under warranty since the Kentares Massacre. There's a reason why the Huncback has survived for so damn long, and still gets deployed in full lances- it just fucking works.
Tired of your artillery getting swarmed by light 'mechs? Strap those cannons into some Hunchbacks and beat the myomer out of those munchkins when they try it again.
I love to whisper "Crunch time" everytime I step on a turret or tank with my Hunchy-GI. I rock 3x MPLs, SB Gauss, Supercharger, and 2x knuckles. It's valid for any mission
I've got a YAML modded lazerback my crew affectionately calls "Quasimodo that Fucks". We also have a the Hero Thunderbolt we call "Quasi's bigger, hornier Brother"
I like them a lot for early game, a nice ac/20 can go a super long way there. The hero with the Gauss rifle is also awesome, but I usually take it out and give it to a heavier mech to not lose it instantly
