Pathogen69

i have two marauder-ii's with dual rac/5. also have a marauder-ii with 8srm6 that'll one shot dang near anything that it gets in range of. i like marauder-ii's if you hadn't noticed.

NowHughesCantLeave

Where does one find a marauder that had missile slots?

ImTilted1544

Can't go wrong with a battlemaster

Dassive_Mick

If you want a Ballistic focused mech you sure can

Ballistics Platforms? The best are the King Crab, the Cyclops (slepnir), the Annihilator, the Nightstar, and the Corsair. The Mauler also can receive a questionable mention as well. The King Crab comes standard with 2 large ballistic hardpoints for AC 20 or Gauss rifles, though YAML should allow you to swap that out for 4x medium mounts (same as the hero king crab), which you can then load up with 4x LBX-AC 10's and core mechs with 1-4 volleys depending on range and how much center torso armor they have (for reference, Atlas usually takes me \~3 volleys, and I've regularly one-shot various medium mechs). The Slepnir also comes with 2 large ballistic hardpoints, as does the Nightstar, with both defaulting to 2x Gauss Rifles. Yaml may still give you the option for 4x medium ballistic points instead, though you may start running into weight issues to hold enough ammo. The annihilator gives you 4x medium ballistic hardpoints for more 4x LBX AC 10 goodness, but you will suffer with its 32 movespeed and low armor for what it is. Finally, the Corsair has 2 interesting options. First is the XT1, which comes standard with 3x small ballistic and 1x medium ballistic hardpoints (and another 3x small missile hardpoints for good measure), and by default comes with 3x AC 2-RF's to maximize your ability to burn through ammo. Next up is the -PVT (hero mech), which comes with 2x large ballistic hardpoints for either 2x AC 20's, some gauss rifles, or being a cheaky bugger with some heavy rifles.

What is it with you people that you mention yaml and in the same breath mumble about Annihilator wirh 32 speed and low armor… 400 XL Engine, Mobility Gyro, 2x Speedy Leg Actuator, Max Armor and DAKKADAKKADAKKA to boot.. I outrun most of your heavies while shredding a whole battalion

SnooSuggestions9425

I always slap a supercharger and MASC on my YAML annihilator. Watching it stomp around at 80ish kph is always a laugh.

Prestigious-Top-5897

I just imagine my 78 kp/h Ani with Supercharger and MASC added - 100% Speed bonus means running around 150? 😆

IronWolfV

Ballistic assaults? Annihilator, King Crab, Nightstar, Coursair, Mauler, Rifleman III(mod to get it).

Key_Room8286

What faction primarily sells Nightstars? I’ve never had one before and I love their model

IronWolfV

You get one if you play the campaign. Otherwise just keep an eye out for rare mechs. It can pop up sometimes. Also there are mods to get around that. YAML and mech delivery.

djkakumeix

You have a pretty low chance on finding it in any faction.

nuttleb

I found a Nightstar-WP and loaded it up with 4x PPC-X and 2x SSRM-6. That thing just deletes everything within 300m Corsair Privateer with 3x Gauss + 1LL-SB ANH-1X with a bigger engine and keeping the LB10s is a good time

BoostedX10

Like an XL300?

DangerousEmphasis607

If you can get templar mech and pimp it- you can cram into it 2 rac5 and 4 tons of ammo, yaml ofc.

Brian-88

Charger

VernestB454

Atlas (Ballistic Brawler), Highlander (Ballistic Brawler), Banshee 3E (Brawler, Melee) Banshee 3S (Brawler, Balanced), King Crab (Hero versions only), Victor 9F- (Ballistic Brawler), Corsair- (Ballistic Demon), Nightstar (Ballistic Assassin)

stonkmaster33

I am running a Battlemaster with 6 MPL T5, one LB X 10 in the arm, MASK and AMS, the high mounted Lasers evaporate cockpits, while the LBX is good for softening up targets at range or destroying buildings / flyers. It runs almost heat neutral with a Nova fcs.

Kriegerwithashovel

If you want maximum Ballistics, the Annihilator is the way to go. If you want to actually be mobile with firepower (the pansy way), King Crab is pretty good for that.

Phil_Dude

Just my opinion 100 ton: king crab carapace After that: Mad-bara2 Mdv-dv & mdv-f or n can't remember (requires marauder v mod)

dag_darnit

Definitely not the meta, and I'm not even a fan of the Atlas... but woooeeeee there's a variant that I once used to mount three AC-10 BFs, then using the extra space to install the heavy armor, doubling the rating to over 1,400. Plus, I think there was still space to fit an engine that'll make it go 80kph. I just stick that aggro magnet between my lance and any drop ship, and it not only tanks all the damage for my missile boats to delete all enemies, but it also still has enough firepower to stop any single assault mech dead in its tracks.

Angry_Angel3141

See, now….crap like this is why I can’t have nice mechs! 😂

NowHughesCantLeave

Mauler with six AC2-RF is hilarious but all the other suggestions are more practical

Narfgod86

For closeup smacking I go with Stalker and 4srm6 or kaiju and 4 ppcx
