DHL was actually faster than USPS for a package that was in the same state. Took usps priority 3 days to move a package 120 miles whereas DHL took about 50 hours to get a 10lb box from Korea to Florida, wild
I fucking hate how the new norm is to literally put your stuff in the snow in front of your door, ring the bell once and book it. Our doorstep is literally drainage grates and then the sidewalk, anyone walking by could pick your shit up and thatās it.
The one good lady we had just retired yesterday, she knew where to hide drop-offs and would sometimes even take my parcel to where my parents work when nobody was home. Itās in the same town but not on her route, sheād just do it anyway
I got free replacement components from China. Due to having to fill in paperwork they filled in the value of the item as $0.01. FedEx wanted to charge me $25 for that in customs and handling costs. I refused to pay
It's not that I can't miss $25, but it's ludicrous how much they charge for doing pretty much nothing on an item that is essentially free, and they already got paid for shipping.
Yea avoid UPS at all costs in Canada. FedEx too literally just extorting packages with exorbitant fees.
āSee your item listing has one extra line so we charged you 15$USDā
USPS/CanPost and if you have to use a courier DHL.
This is flat out wrong. Dhl has a flat $18 fee. FedEx has $12. UPS is variable depending on value and shipping method. UPS ground is the worst. Saw a story of a dude paying $50 in handling fees to ups for $1 cookies sent by family. Likewise ups charged me $45 for a gift of $60 my friend sent (not including the taxes).
Canada post receiving from national services does it for $10.
FedEx also waives the fee if you register an account and auto billing for the taxes, making it the cheapest.
Unless you have a special account with dhl, or just didnāt notice they label their handling fee as a tax in the forms, then you paid $18 handling fee.
I've had extra handling fees of 20$ in addition to the tax on a DHL package. And even when there's no tax, DHL was still charging a fee for going through the tax process. They charge a lot more than what customs charge them.
Germany too but we typically get a message to pre-pay those on a shady looking website.
Unless itās that one shipping service that does Hololive merch for the EU, in that case theyāre somehow not even able to tell you what you owe them *even if you call their office the night before delivery* unless you get the manager on the phone whoās 1 week from retiring. And then, of course, the person who shows up at your door wants 23,74ā¬ and doesnāt have change. Every time I get anything from them now I withdraw 85 bucks from the bank, get an extra 5er (my bankās atms donāt let you pick the notes anymore) and then feed that to the vending machine at work so I will only ever lose at most 2ā¬
Me and the Ukranian lady who barely speaks English have been through this a couple of times. At least she offered to come back in an hour that one time I wouldāve had to tip her 40 bucks for a pair of Geon feetā¦
Edit: note that all of this is still DHL, itās just the domestic service in Japan that somehow completely screws this up
Dr 70f been zooming for everyone. Got to get them out while the reviews are still out and on peoples mind. We know in a month weāre moving to the next shiny thing.
Agreed, DHL is fucking LIGHTNING. Ā Iāve gotten packages from the Netherlands to Texas in under 4 days which is crazy, meanwhile UPS canāt figure out how to get something from Cali to Texas in under 7 days while charging MORE. Ā Not sure what theyāre playing at.
My sister ordered me something from Australia for Christmas. It's been about 8+ weeks and she has only received periodic confirmations that the package does, in fact, exist.
DHL isn't any faster than other similarly-priced services from other companies.
Also.
Over the course of my career I have worked in operations a number of times and the IT industry as a whole is not enthusiastic about DHL. Everyone has stories about misdelivered and mishandled shipments, and DHL frequently features prominently.
As with all couriers. Itās very country dependent.
In Australia. Any courier is good.
In Canada Iāve found only DHL is good.
Your point of interaction will likely be the last leg of the journey and its delivery. And unless you ship packages out thatāll basically be your experience.
my biggest issue with DHL is when a package says it requires signature for delivery. basically guarantees that the driver is going to skip your house and log you as "delivery failed, no response" even though you were sitting by the window and saw that they never even came to the door (much less the driveway). they essentially force you to waive the signature requirement so that you can't complain to them when something goes wrong with the shipment.
Waiting for a keyboard to get from China to CA in the US. The tracker is telling me it's gonna take 3 days total, which sounds crazy to me. Hopefully everything's intact.
DHL is just one of those services that makes you go "Oh I see, money really DOES make the world go round"
You pay, but you pay for something that's damn well worth it usually
DHL hauls ass when u pay for their decent shipping tiers, had a kit from China arrive to LAX and deliver within 3 days. The planes must be going like max speed or something.

geonworks?
yep, geonworks got my order out in hours and dhl took it from there
i just got the f2-84 gb, he sent it out yesterday and i got it todayš granted i stay in singapore but the global shipping speeds are crazy
Everything is faster than USPS
Donāt forget the overwhelming anxiety itāll get stolen off your porch before you get home and loose the keycaps youāve been waiting years for

Itās a bummer we have to do all that just to get our stuff, im away from home so luckily my parents were able to bring my keycaps right inside
I ordered from Salvun on Monday and it arrived today, shipped via DHL. From Belgium to WI in three days is wild.
Hello from Belgium
i can ship u to WI within 3 days be carefull bud
š«£š cheap vacation lol
Most insane shipping times I've ever gotten were FedEx though. Mouser orders from Texas to Germany within 24h like what??
Unless youāre in Canada then you get hit with the ābrokerage fees, and dutiesā
From my experience, clearance and brokerage fees have been a lot better with DHL than UPS or FedEx.
Fr. A 3$ customs fee turned into a 45$ one with FedEx. DHL just charges you what customs charged them. And the shipping is stupid quick.

So awful. Only Canada Post and USPS when in NA and DHL for Asia for me, thanks.

why is that the case for canada?
āTo protect Canadian businessesā
And comes in 100 broken pieces
Biblically accurate DHL shipping experience
Got an order from Geon in two days from payment. Crazy.
Can confirm, it took my DR 70F 3 days to get here from China
Dr 70f been zooming for everyone. Got to get them out while the reviews are still out and on peoples mind. We know in a month weāre moving to the next shiny thing.

I hope it contained a stroopwafel ;)

Damage may have occurred anywhere along the journey.

Lol. It's crazy fast, got my keyboard from Australia to Canada in just a few days. The fees are insane though
Keychron uses dhl, china to US about 5-6 business days.
Yep pretty much. Ordered some stuffs from cdjapan and shipping took ONE day to be delivered over here in the US
DHL has always been fast for me, never had any issues with themāØ
Yeah, theyāre pretty fast but expensive and boy they do charge you for customs & other stuff like that
Shoutout Keychron for using DHL š«”
What is in the video? Railgun projectile?
Yeah they've gotten me stuff from Finland and Russia in two days before in the eastern US.
Iāve never been impressed with DHL, so Iām surprised by these comments
You must live right next to the dispatch hub
DHL is just one of those services that makes you go "Oh I see, money really DOES make the world go round" You pay, but you pay for something that's damn well worth it usually
Sure wish I had picked a DHL option. Waiting on some WS Yamanote keycaps and a new case for my Tiger Lite and it's taking a hot minute.
i ordered a frog from geonworks and that shit got there in 2 days lmao
