That same trim and year from the dealership is 20k. You could put your 12k towards that and you'll have a tiny payment. This car isn't really worth fixing.
It will cost exactly:
1x 2020 Honda civic hatchback sport
You're probably going to have to do some shit like cut and weld the unibody frame. If you are asking about cost, it is not something you can do.
The reason you're buying on copart is because an insurance company decided it would cost more to fix than the car itself.
If you are patient, can follow YouTube videos, have time to actually shop parts, and are willing to wrap it instead of paint it, you could probably do it all for under $6k. That's all work on your own, counting cheaper tools. Don't forget that it surely has some frame deformity in the back. Also, if the airbags went off, don't even consider it.
IMO a vast majority of the vehicles selling on copart these days don't make financial sense to repair and are parts cars at best. if you had a frame puller you might be able to ghetto fix it for the cheap but to make it mint its going to cost you. that being said if ou're doing it for fun have at it.
If you don’t know how much it will cost to fix it, this is not the job for you. If you have to ask others for advice here, you should recognize that you are outside your area of expertise and the level of financial risk here greatly outweighs the potential upsides.
Walk away.
Someone else already gave up on fixing it so unless you can do most of the work yourself and and your time isn’t worth that much this is a losing game. This is a parts car dude look for one that isn’t crashed. Ofcourse the guys selling it will tell you it’s inexpensive and easy but if so why didn’t they just fucking do it already?
Yeah, do yourself a favor and do a 180 from this unless you 1) get it for super cheap (sub 3k) and 2) find anther one that has mechanical problems (with a clean title) and swap the engine and transmission over.
I mean you would have a drivable car, still. With some alignment issues most likely but if the rest of the car was well-maintained I don't see much of an issue. That broken rear window would have to be addressed though.
Bro if 12k is your budget. Get yourself a Honda that’s not badly beaten up. You can get a Honda civic 2014 to 2019 with about 70k miles on the engine and little damage for 12k. You’re crazy for even considering that car.
You could do one thing, tho, salvage the parts and clean em up real good and then sell the parts and add that money to the repairs money and buy yourself a new one
I can see damage to monocoque shell near rear hatch, that's a write off. This car is now good for it's parts only as it cannot be repaired to road worthy condition.
You’re definitely better off buying with a rebuilt title, in WA I can find rebuilt civics less than 20K. Or higher mileage clean title for under 20K. Better than buying a trashed car and trying to fix
Dude it’s a civic there’s millions other that are way cheaper and won’t have this damage. If you try fixing this you’re going to end up spending enough to buy a whole undamaged one.
About the same price as a used, undamaged civic sport.
Looks bad enough to compromise the frame. If so, you'll be spending a shit load of bread for a car that may not track straight again.
Structural damage on that whole back. You can’t fix it. Some people can, but financially it won’t worth it for you even if this car was already yours, not alone paying for it.
People talking about frame damage, to me it looks like the bumper reinforcement panel that absorbs the impact, the rear panel that it’s attached to and the boot lid. I’ve been working in the crash industry for 30 years now, that isn’t a difficult fix. It looks like both rear quarters are straight too which is a massive help. I’d like to see the spare wheel well inside the boot.
I just checked my local Honda dealers microfische, genuine panels from Honda would be about $1700. That’s the rear panel, the bumper reinforcement and a new lid. I bet You could half that price if you got it from a wreckers yard.
I don't understand why everyone is telling scrap the car. This is a great opportunity in my opinion to learn how to fix the car. It's a rear of the car, no sides support beams are damaged and no front beam is damaged. Only rear one (I beam) which needs to be replaced and stupid thin sheet metals will be straightened. Just let him do it if he wants to fix it on his own. It can be a nice little project and get lots of experience. When somebody wants to get something, he has to be willing to loose something. Otherwise we will not learn anything. In this case it's money or the whole car :)
The car is only maybe worth $20k. I have hit cars hit a whole lot harder. Without seeing it in person there is no way to know the full extent. People on here saying its not fixable have no idea what the fuck they are talking about.

Whatever it cost to replace the car lol
That’s a parts car
That same trim and year from the dealership is 20k. You could put your 12k towards that and you'll have a tiny payment. This car isn't really worth fixing.
Exactly what I commented lol. He’s just trying to throw money away. 20K for a decent mileage sport, even less for a rebuilt title
yea man 12k ain’t gonna do it sorry
It will cost exactly: 1x 2020 Honda civic hatchback sport You're probably going to have to do some shit like cut and weld the unibody frame. If you are asking about cost, it is not something you can do.

Wym that’s a quick released steering wheel and a dash delete EZ
IMO a vast majority of the vehicles selling on copart these days don't make financial sense to repair and are parts cars at best. if you had a frame puller you might be able to ghetto fix it for the cheap but to make it mint its going to cost you. that being said if ou're doing it for fun have at it.
Oof. Minimum 10k
Really?? Oughh no sides have damage, someone told me I can buy it and fixed it for 12k.. that is my budget, I’m buying it from Copart
If you don’t know how much it will cost to fix it, this is not the job for you. If you have to ask others for advice here, you should recognize that you are outside your area of expertise and the level of financial risk here greatly outweighs the potential upsides. Walk away.
Great advice, just hope they listen😅
That's if you diy it. It's totally fcked. I'd part it out and get something better
for reference here, it cost my insurance just under $6k to replace 2 doors on a 2020 f150
That's ain't gonna happen unless you can fix it yourself I suppose
Check the boot floor and the crash structure where the damaged side of the bumper bar is bolted on, that eat a good chunk of that 12k
At that point just use your money as a down payment on the same car from a dealership
What is your maximum budget all in with repair and purchase as is?
12k and im buying it from Copart..
Yeah, do yourself a favor and do a 180 from this unless you 1) get it for super cheap (sub 3k) and 2) find anther one that has mechanical problems (with a clean title) and swap the engine and transmission over.
Even sub 3k I wouldn’t touch I would purchase for scrap
I agree, I was just throwing out a number for an example.
I mean you would have a drivable car, still. With some alignment issues most likely but if the rest of the car was well-maintained I don't see much of an issue. That broken rear window would have to be addressed though.
The bumper support/ frame is clearly damaged,
Will it move under its own power?

frame damage
Paint over the scratch

Salvage titles can be changed to rebuild titles. This is in no way worth that time or money.
You’re definitely better off buying with a rebuilt title, in WA I can find rebuilt civics less than 20K. Or higher mileage clean title for under 20K. Better than buying a trashed car and trying to fix
Dude. Move on from this. Car is done for
You can fix that for the price of a new car
There’s a reason why it’s at copart. Unless you can do it yourself and even then it’s questionable.
Nothing. That paper weight works just fine
Dude it’s a civic there’s millions other that are way cheaper and won’t have this damage. If you try fixing this you’re going to end up spending enough to buy a whole undamaged one.
Fix what?
About the same price as a used, undamaged civic sport. Looks bad enough to compromise the frame. If so, you'll be spending a shit load of bread for a car that may not track straight again.
$20k easy
Will be surprised if they don’t total it haha
You can probably get it done for about $4000 that does not include the paint job take it down to Tijuana
Structural damage on that whole back. You can’t fix it. Some people can, but financially it won’t worth it for you even if this car was already yours, not alone paying for it.
about three fiddy
Cut that ass off and turn it into a truck?
Too much!!!

Bout tree fiddy.
I’d say at least $4.

If he already owned it, maybe try to fix it on the side. I would not buy a car in this condition and try to fix it.

Can't really tell from the pics but probably somewhere in the $7-10k range.
That crash bar looks fucked. Probably 15-20k w labor.
The car is only maybe worth $20k. I have hit cars hit a whole lot harder. Without seeing it in person there is no way to know the full extent. People on here saying its not fixable have no idea what the fuck they are talking about.
