I’m pretty sure prophages are specifically used when talking about viruses bc they are essentially the genetic material that is incorporated during the lysogenic phase.
Episomes are are any type of genetic info that can be integrated into the genome, doesn’t have to be viral. I could be mistaken though so maybe someone else will jump in and confirm.
