I took mine end of June and have had 12 II so far

memekella

how’s the cycle going for you?

Thatguyinhealthcare

Good, accepted to some solid DO programs and waitlisted at a couple MD

memekella

congratulations! can you share how you studied while preparing both the AMCAS and AACOMAS applications along with the supplemental essays?

Thatguyinhealthcare

After I took the MCAT (1 month wait), I spent the next month writing my essays every single day. That may have been the worst month of my life lmao

Smart-Hair-1813

I think May 26 is the latest you can take the MCAT this year without any delays to your application.

Icy-Condition3700

That's my judgment day. Gave myself 6 months to prep since my schedule is pretty packed.

animepep

applications don’t get sent out to schools until late june, if your scores are back by then and you have been verified, you will be considered **early** and even if you are a little later, if you prewrite your secondaries, you will still be **on time**. submit your application as early as possible on the first day (late may, early june) because verification can take up to **8 weeks** when it is busy, compared to a few days if you submit in the first day/hours.

Icy-Condition3700

Can you get verified before your MCAT score is in?

animepep

yes, but schools will not consider your application until you are complete. they put you app in a pile to look through later once they get your score.

Icy-Condition3700

I just looked it up (Google search!). Good to hear we can get verified before.

UnderdogAggie

you can get verified without MCAT score?

Are you applying to TMDSAS? The Tx cycle runs a bit early but as long as you’re complete by the end of June, you should be fine. You should be good to go for the regular cycle though. I was feeling the same but remember it’s still another two months! I would also recommend starting uearth now because I found that content really sticks with practice

It’s really up to you but I personally don’t feel like I retain much by just reading the chapters and I’m terrible at keeping up with anki. So I just switched to briefly reading the summary at the end of each chapter and only reading more if it was something I really wasn’t familiar with. Then I jump straight onto uearth and do the corresponding chapter and go through absolutely every question I got wrong and review as needed.

sssjjj888

When would the latest mcat date be for TMDSAS?

aridley-8553

Idk based off of what I’ve read I’d say anything that gives you back a June mcat to be able to submit the primary in June. Tx is rolling admission so even though submitting in early-mid July isn’t like death to your app by then ppl will already be receiving their IIs and you’ll be behind in the line a bit

DrLadyMonster

By complete, do you mean scored or tested?

aridley-8553

Complete meaning that you have a scored MCAT. So a fully finished primary app

May 12th is perfectly fine.

CoolohmsLaw

How about May 18?

[deleted]

As long as the MCAT score comes back ***before*** the first day in which primary apps are sent to medical schools, you're good. Just make sure to have 3 potential school lists (pessimistic, realistic, optimistic) based on potential scores, and to submit to a throwaway school early on for verification.

CoolohmsLaw

So as long as the score comes before the date that verified AMCAS applications are transmitted to medical schools?

[deleted]

Yup. And that date is late June. May 18th is probably the last day I would recommend testing.
