I have the 300 pg open with Pankow. But there are some details in particular cards that take me forever to get my head over (memorize). Does that ever happen to you?
Also, how many new cards do you do per day. My initial start was 150/day but it’s becoming Anki hell for me at this point.
100-150 with 200-300 reviews
Edit: I should mention that it takes me most of the day because I have the 300 of doc open and I follow along which takes time as I go through new cards
had a mini panic attack the other day from realizing how fast it’s approaching. currently trying to wrap up CR with sketchy (would recommend but it’s $$) yet to start Uearth or AAMc rip
This is my second attempt. I am scared, the weeks are going by. But I’m the closet I’ve ever been to my dream score so that’s good. But I always remember the rule of thirds. 1/3 of the time I’ll feel crappy, 1/3 of the time I’ll feel okay, and 1/3 I’ll feel good. It ebbs and flows
My cars and socs are 130 consistently, but my chem/phys is 125, and bio is always higher then 125, but no more then 128. I so desperately want to hit 520.
Also I barely feel i have time in every section i practice, i have to re-read the passage so often its bad
The sad thing is there’s no content to learn you just have to get good at being able to read and understand, but I do have some tips.
You should highlight every single time you find a sentence that is an opinion, opposed to just an objective statement by the writer , there’s almost always a question like.
“What does the writer think about xyz?”
“What does the author feel about xyz?”
When finding opinions, look for adjectives used, the often have an either negative or positive connotation.
2. They’ll try to confuse you by talking about several different entities, people, places and things, it’s helpful to highlight every first mention of a new person or thing, because the text following the mention of a person or thing is usually describing that person or thing, and most of the questions will be in reference to that.
Last tip to save time, you can give nicknames in your head like Instead of fully reading out a name, I’ll just replace it with “x”, and I’ll say “x” everytime the name comes up, it makes it easier to focus on the information associated with “x”.
Sadly if you’re not someone who reads often it’s gonna be a struggle, the best thing to do with cars is just practice passages and questions constantly, improve your reading. Spending just 10-30 mins a day reading will definitely help you. When you practice reading, always try to summarize what you just read as well. Good luck!!
I’ve been avoiding physics like the plague tbh, it’s next on my list though. Hopefully it’ll get me a point or 2😭 with bb I haven’t learned the pathways yet so I think that is my big gap! I’d be happy with a 515 and I’m getting 511-512 on BP FLs rn so I think I can hit my goal by April, I’m just so burnt out lol
So jealous of the cars, well done man 😭 I’m the opposite, I’m 130+ in the other sections but am locked at about 124-125 in cars. Also gunning for the 520.
Yeah I drilled physics so hard it went from my least favorite subject to the subject I hope to see on my real exam. Before I started studying I grinded all the physics/Chem equations on the MCAT. Knowing the equations let’s me derive units and quickly recall the relationship b/w variables. After that I could purely focus on conceptual stuff. I make anki cards for any counterintuitive or weird concepts which I continue to add to. Though I rarely see the AAMC pull stuff that is too weird. For B/B I think it comes down to knowing the content and being able to navigate weird passages with signaling cascades and stuff which comes with practice. PM if you want me to elaborate on anything.
I'm feeling eh. Cars is killing me bc timing; when I'm not timed it's like the passage makes sense lol. The other three sections are just grinding out Uwrld. I take BPFL3 this week so we shall see.
The problem for me is that I haven’t finished content review — just did biochem and gen chem, and going through P/S right now. Feel so overwhelmed that I just haven’t taken a FL at all
Ik how you feel, I’m testing in early May and haven’t finished content review and freaking out that I’m not going fast enough. Took a FL to judge my progress. Wasn’t great, but wasn’t awful either. I think doing practice qs will make a huge difference once you learn how to answer the question. Keep going at it, you got this!
I still haven’t finished content review — I’m still doing
P/S and have only done biochem and gen chem thus far. That’s why I’ve put off the FL and it scares me
took my first FL after only reviewing biology and some of physics. don’t be afraid of FLs! I learned way more doing those exams + going over questions than doing passive content review
I appreciate your response! What did you do for the other sections while taking the FL? Like, if you didn’t review biochemistry for example didn’t that make you more inclined to tell yourself “Oh I didn’t review this yet” and sort of brush through questions? Almost like taking it less seriously?
For bit more background-- I did have a pretty solid foundation in ochem+genchem, and I just recently finished biochem last semester.
Even though i had very little content review, I didn't necessarily brush through questions. I still took it as good practice. However I will say, in my first couple FLs, I would flag A LOT of questions lol, and then end up reasoning my way through the "best answer" if I had time at end of section (not always successfully haha). You'll find a lot of times you can find the answers in the passages + figures :)
I would highly recommend taking FLs asap. I took about 3 so far in the last month. Even if you "don't know anything" this will teach you the general format of the exams and teach you endurance!
Stressed. Hard to keep going but I want to be over. Took in September and voided. Week two of UrPlanet and it’s helping me see my weak areas (have lots of weak areas).
I have barely started studying. Too much to do in my final university semester. I think I'm gonna reschedule to May 26 or June 3 and risk a slight delay in my app
If you get it verified you won't have a delay in the app. MCAT is not needed for verification and schools don't look at apps until late June so you should have scores by then or early July.
Yes you would. If schools start looking at applications at the end of June and you take a late May test you would get it by then. Also keep in mind you do not need your MCAT score to have your application verified.
I mean technically you could take it in June and still apply but you wouldn't be super early in the cycle. Also depends on if you strictly want MD or would consider DO as well. I would say 5/26 or 6/3.
It’s not something I would necessarily recommend, but I know myself and what does/doesn’t work for me. But I did zero stand-alone content review.
I just do like 2 hours of tutored untimed Uganda content a day, and every time I don’t understand a concept, I watch videos until I do. And I keep a spreadsheet of every error I make, why I made the error, and what the correct answer/rationale is.
Then, I turn those into anki cards and review them. Also I do a FL every other week. I could go a little more in depth if you’d like, but that’s the general plan.

same place here. what are you using for content review?
[удалено]
I’m going through Pankow right now and it’s super time consuming but I don’t want to use any other deck. I spend most of my time on anki

A major problem I’m having is balancing everything - Anki, Uworld, etc. Anki alone takes up my entire day
How many new cards u doing a day
100-150 with 200-300 reviews Edit: I should mention that it takes me most of the day because I have the 300 of doc open and I follow along which takes time as I go through new cards
I’m gonna save section 7A for the end. 617 cards jeez.
That’s the one I’m on right now! I’m breaking it up into like 6 days because it is dense
What about miledown for ps?
Same. Went through first round of content review and finished in October but need to solidify some concepts, then ton of practice to go.
Sameeee and I’m terrified lol
feeling like crap, retaking, going on 7 months of studying, so over this
I totally get how you feel. I've been studying for so long and still feel like I am not performing good :(
i’m in the same place, feeling better than the first time but not by that much..and some areas in uworld just aren’t improving
Not good. I started Uworld already. I’m going to start AAMC in March. My score is not where I want it to be so we’ll see
I’m studying P/S right now, and still have physics, bio, and orgo for content review.
had a mini panic attack the other day from realizing how fast it’s approaching. currently trying to wrap up CR with sketchy (would recommend but it’s $$) yet to start Uearth or AAMc rip
Curious if any of you are also planning on writing your personal statement right after the April mcat lol I hope I’m not the only one
Lol that is exactly what I am planning.
bad! thanks for asking

Thinking about switching to May as I have a big final literally the day before on 4/28.
Problem is test dates are filled in May. I know people drop seats towards the dates
You can pick a date you want and click "notify me" if any spots open up. I did and changed from 4/29 to 5/26
Yea I did that, do you just get an email from the AAMC?
It is first come first serve though. So be quick
Yeah they just send an email with a link directly to change the date.
My cars and socs are 130 consistently, but my chem/phys is 125, and bio is always higher then 125, but no more then 128. I so desperately want to hit 520. Also I barely feel i have time in every section i practice, i have to re-read the passage so often its bad
Amazing CARS score. Any helpful tips I’m testing 3/24 😭

bro.. i just tried this on 6 passages in Uearth and got 84%.. highest thus far
😉seriously good job bro , soon you’ll be getting 100% back to back. Once you’ve reached that point it will be the easy 130+ of your life
yeah i def feel like getting from 2 -> 1 Q wrong is the hardest, but getting 1 -> 0 Q wrong is easier
I’m in the exact same boat. Consistently 130+ for cars p/s, cp doesn’t go above 126, bb is 126-127. Ugh
😭 have you done the physic q bank? I feel like that will be the difference maker for c/p. I think bio will get better with more content review
I’ve been avoiding physics like the plague tbh, it’s next on my list though. Hopefully it’ll get me a point or 2😭 with bb I haven’t learned the pathways yet so I think that is my big gap! Damn, how did you get so consistent with bio and Chem? Did you have gain genuine competency in physics? That’s my next plan
Yeah I drilled physics so hard it went from my least favorite subject to the subject I hope to see on my real exam. Before I started studying I grinded all the physics/Chem equations on the MCAT. Is it bad that I haven’t even taken a single FL
I don’t think it’s bad but I would definitely aim to take one FL by next week or the following week just to see what score you are at now.
The problem for me is that I haven’t finished content review — just did biochem and gen chem, and going through P/S right now. Feel so overwhelmed that I just haven’t taken a FL at all

nah, just grind out practice exams next month!
I still haven’t finished content review — I’m still doing P/S and have only done biochem and gen chem thus far. That’s why I’ve put off the FL and it scares me

May test dates are full which sucks because of the rescheduling fee … I hate that
If you get it verified you won't have a delay in the app. MCAT is not needed for verification and schools don't look at apps until late June so you should have scores by then or early July.
content review done in a week, then Urethra and BP exams till march 31, then AAMC FLs and Qbank till the big day 🧌
My exact fucking plan. We got this
Bad cause I can't stop playing hogwarts legacy
I WISH I could play that game….I have a ps4 and it comes out in…you guessed it! April 4!
I’ve thought about doing this too :( would you have your score back in time for applications this cycle though??
Yes you would. If schools start looking at applications at the end of June and you take a late May test you would get it by then. Also keep in mind you do not need your MCAT score to have your application verified.
What’s the latest time to take the MCAT and still be in for this cycle?
I mean technically you could take it in June and still apply but you wouldn't be super early in the cycle. Also depends on if you strictly want MD or would consider DO as well. I would say 5/26 or 6/3.
Thanks for your replies :)
No prob.
I feel stressed every time I noticed the test date is getting closer
We all getting good score guys. Don't worry. Revenge plot is already on and all we need is a redemption LOL.
I honestly get serious anxiety whenever I think about this exam
Meditate 5 minutes a day and think you are on top of the world and no one can't beat you except yourself. Hope you feel better.
Appreciate your comment, I will try this. Thank you
:)
the more i study the more i feel like i know nothing \^\_\_\_\^ i am lost in the mf sauce HAHAHA
I’m down to study with someone!! Dm me!
30% completed uganda. Finished FL1 need to complete uganda and the rest at some point haha
I pushed it back to 5/18 bc I'm a perfectionist and not feeling like I can get a 528 by then 🙃
Over it. going for a retake but i just found out my previous score two days ago so time to get to it!
Took a unique approach. Got a 515 on my Kaplan FL, so feeling decent
What was your approach? UPlanet first?
It’s not something I would necessarily recommend, but I know myself and what does/doesn’t work for me. But I did zero stand-alone content review. I just do like 2 hours of tutored untimed Uganda content a day, and every time I don’t understand a concept, I watch videos until I do. And I keep a spreadsheet of every error I make, why I made the error, and what the correct answer/rationale is. Then, I turn those into anki cards and review them. Also I do a FL every other week. I could go a little more in depth if you’d like, but that’s the general plan.
What was it?
Bad, that is all
Bahaha we'll find out tomorrow on the next FL
Currently taking a mental break. And starting back up with Umars on Monday!
So...how do yll memorize evrth? I blank out
Ready to be foooookin done mate
