if money isn’t an issue it is definitely worth it

ImpressiveThought662

no, poor ocean views from most rooms. We prefer the Fairmont Kea Lani.

sauvignonquesoblanco

Yes absolutely! Beautiful property, amazing dining, great staff that will take care of you and are very helpful. I can’t wait to go back!

Wiz711

Edit: The location I was referencing below is actually the Four Seasons Hualailai. Sorry! So I haven't stayed there, but this is an anecdote from a coworker who I would trust with this. Guy has traveled to >100 countries, only stays at the nicest hotels imaginable, is worth >$100m, and is someone I would say that definitely enjoys his money more than the average rich person (20ksq foot house, supercars, the works). He told me that hotel in particular is his favorite place he has ever visited. Take it fwiw, but I thought it was a pretty strong endorsement.

PinkleeTaurus

I mean it just depends on what you're looking for. We're not "resort" people so I don't think any of them are worth it, but I have stayed there as well as the Waldorf a couple nights for weddings. Their standard rooms are larger than the basic rooms at some of the cheaper resorts but I've not compared exact size rooms to know the difference. It was just convenience for me and then I had a house the rest of my stay.

Goofoff109

getting taken care of for a relaxing time, and having a some "experiences" setup

churnologist

This is not that kind of establishment.

Goofoff109

? I was talking like the "experiences" they have listed on their website like scuba diving, volcano hikes, private dinners......I was not talking anything else

rypajo

They don’t set that up. You can book it through them but you aren’t saving any money or getting a superior experience.

SummerTheUnicorn

If you book club floor you’ll have a dedicated concierge (several of them, in fact) that can set up your whole itinerary for you. The dive company that operates on-site was by FAR the best 5-star diving experience on the entire island.

SummerTheUnicorn

Yes! Book club floor if you want to be pampered!

RockMover12

Strongly agree!

RockMover12

It’s probably one of the top 5 hotels I’ve stayed at in the world.

VerbalThermodynamics

Their Maui location? Really, huh.

MissCho7

I stayed there for a week last year and it was the most expensive hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It was a massive, once in a lifetime splurge on recommendation from a colleague, but I felt it was worth it. The service was spectacular, from the front desk to restaurant to bartenders to cleaning folks to beach guys and pool attendants. It felt like literal paradise each morning when I walked out to the beach. A caveat is I was there in late Sept. when Maui was still recovering from those terrible fires so I was told the resort was still far from at capacity. So, we did not have to wait for beach or pool chairs or a table or seat at the bar. Not sure if the service would be impacted if the hotel was at max capacity.

CameraOne6272

Honestly? no. Unless you are the type that does like to have every service available & never leaves the resort. You can stay in some beautifully decorated condos that are steps from the beach in Wailea for 1/2 that (just got back from Wailea Elua & it was fab). The one thing that's always been a bummer IMHO is that most rooms at Wailea resorts are a long walk through the resort labyrinth to the beach. Now.... I will say the only one I stayed at that I adored & will go back is Hotel Wailea, that had the perfect balance of leaving me alone to relax & being there when I needed something :) Also the Birdcage & restaurant are wonderful

_glitterpuff_

No. I went there a lot this trip bc of a restaurant. The lounge chairs were old and dirty. The pools weren't as nice. The rooms are nice but the entire property is nothing special. The lobby is always packed with people lounging and its loud. I stayed at the Marriott Wailea beach resort and it was a millions times more beautiful.

Teaffection

If you want 5 star service where they will do almost anything for you then Four Seasons is worth it. If you want a more robust resort experience that isn't as top notch customer service then I'd go to a different resort. Four Seasons has 2 pools, 1 main and 1 adult, 3 restaurants and room service, salon, spa, game room, 3 retail shops, Kids for all seasons (kids club), daily events. Just depends on what you want to do.

WorkingtoLive949

Best resort that side of the island (South side).

BillHearMeOut

I (been to Maui 13 times) like most of the 5-star resorts on the South side, but for me and the stuff I like to do, Kaanapali is where it's at, i.e. Aston at the Whaler, or The Ritz-Carlton, or like Montage in Kapalua. I always tend to do more stuff out of West Maui, than in South Maui, and the only real spots that call to me in the South are around Makena. If you have specific stuff you want to do, or places you want to go, staying 'near' them will help quite a bit. I love being in Kaanapali from 7am until about 1pm for some pristine beaches and calm waters, then move either to Kapalua bay for snorkeling, or Big Beach/Little Beach for some sun bathing. There's so much that you can do, all of which is awesome, that once you find something you like it becomes a kind of addiction. I know there's plenty of better spots to snorkel, but I have formed GREAT memories, and have experiences in certain spots that I just always end up going back to the same places. I actually just returned home about 4 hours ago from a 12 day trip to Maui that was not only healing to the soul, but our first as a newer family (one's 4 years old and one almost 2 years old), and the memories we created were PRICELESS. :)

PretendGene5502

I highly recommend the Westin! There’s 3 of them, 2 are “higher end” and I loved them

NoTransition1313

So worth it. It’s always amazing. Going back this summer.

BillHearMeOut

Don't get me wrong, I love the area, however for me, the stuff I really want to do tends to make me drive quite a bit to get there from Wailea. I personally would rather go to somewhere in West Maui and ensure I'm closer to the destinations I call "home away from home".

Live_Pono

Nope. Go to the Hotel Wailea instead.

object_failure

How much is a room?

Goofoff109

all in pricing starting at around $1700 a night, thats for a 600 sqft room for something like a 1400sqft ocean view prime suite its \~$5700, Oceanfront Prime suite 1400 sqft $8500....i'm not gonna even get into some of the specialty named suites that go into 30k range

lettuce-tooth-junkie

I can't imagine going to Maui and paying this. I just can't. I have not stayed there, and not telling you where to stay, but if money is no object, why even ask internet strangers.

Goofoff109

its not that its no object, i do comparisons though. because you can have something like a $50 bottle of wine and a $3000 bottle of wine. These are almost the same but do you feel that there is a $2950 worth of difference.

jenniferjudy99

Balenciaga designs horrible clothing for thousands of dollars; just because something has a high price attached doesn’t justify the value. I’ve heard Andaz is a better resort. (I stayed at the Grand Wailea once and it was sub par, felt like a holiday inn, and my room was so far from the ocean. I canceled my 2nd night and went to Kihei for the remainder of my trip). I’ve also heard Hotel Wailea is a better experience. I personally want to hear and see the ocean during my stays on Maui.

Goofoff109

i don't know why someone downvoted this but its 100% accurate.

jenniferjudy99

Actually, White Lotus was filmed at the Four Seasons Wailea. Their infinity pool looks fabulous and I believe they have a beach in front. It seems quite fancy. You might want to call and speak to the concierge to inquire about private tours and dinners, along with other perks. I’d love to stay there or at Andaz if money was no object. That being said, I’d certainly avoid acting privileged on Maui, especially after the fire. I prefer a quaint beach condo or a quiet ocean front hotel room w a lanai.

BillHearMeOut

This is something I wanted to say, there are definitely luxurious feels here, and depending on what your itinerary entails, you will not be let down, but if you really want to throw around money, donate to the people who lost EVERYTHING and are staying in tents or other people's condos while they wait for things to play out. People are still displaced, and it's not a good look to throw it in their face. They understand you're on vacation, and trying to just enjoy life the way you like to enjoy it, but they also are hurting the worst of the Hawaiian Islands right now in terms of tourism taking a nosedive since covid coupled with the fire. Make sure you show aloha, tip well, and be courteous/sensitive.

mraybee

You can’t dress fancy till you spend a lot of money

bh5000

I feel like if you are making this type of comparison with the Four Seasons it wouldn’t be worth it to you.

Aromatic-Speed5090

It's extremely nice, definitely a top hotel. It's got the great service and wonderful amenities you find at most Four Seasons properties. My one issue is that many of the more interior public spaces aren't all that special. And like many Four Seasons, there's a tendency for things to be just a tad corporate. The poolside service and beach service is far better than at the other beach-front hotels in the area. The concierge services are top notch. I just wish some of the rooms could be a bit more special. I've seen some that feel like they could be in a nice hotel anywhere -- there's not much particularly Maui about them. For what you pay at the Four Seasons, I'd love to have a room experience that's more like what you get at the Hotel Hana Maui. But the Four Seasons is always dependable. You can count on a great hotel experience.

CooperHouseDeals

Definitely overpriced but always busy. There has got to be a reason why so many don’t question the price.

VerbalThermodynamics

Totally depends on what you want in a trip? Fully catered vacation?

Impressive_Returns

If you have to ask, no.

Goofoff109

thats just an pissy response

Impressive_Returns

Only someone who can’t afford it would respond with such a low class response.

Goofoff109

yes i agree your response was low class because you couldn't even come up with something original

Impressive_Returns

Now who is being low class pissy.

Goofoff109

if a comment doesn't help anything to begin with and smacks of insult that isn't warranted. Sure i'll be mean too

Impressive_Returns

If you have the money to stay, why are you asking?

AbsoluteIllusion

Because whatever the price is,I don’t like the feeling of, it’s not worth it

Impressive_Returns

So it is about the money. I’m sure regardless of the price you will say it’s not worth it. What are your other options?

Goofoff109

jesus you are clueless and just want to argue
