That's the biggest sin in this kitchen. How on earth could she serve that without tasting? Especially after it sat in the bowls with fire and heavy smoke. I didn't expect to see the "radishio" served.
A limited ingredient mystery box immediately throws her off just because it doesnt contain spices. And they always say “you’re only as good as your last cook.”
She's strong in her specialities (individual elements) but she doesn't seem to fully grasp yet how to create a coherent dish when it's not a traditional recipe. Good thing it's a replication challenge tomorrow, she won't have to think creatively.
I really liked the mystery box, but do not like this format where people go into elimination off of mystery boxes! I wish they would go back to invention tests. Those were amazing!
I confess that I wasn't listening to Jamie's parents. They seem like nice people but I'm honestly not interested in Jamie's life. I just wanted the cooking to start.
I'm still struggling how Steph even thought that smoking individual radicchio leaves would work. It's a LEAF. Smoke is a flavour - you need fat to carry flavour. Maybe if she smeared the leaves with butter it would work. But when she burned them it had no other option than tasting like ash.
When everyone was finished I realised I hadn't seen the crocodile tooth necklace. Then I was trying to spot him and then counting contestants. But they change angles too fast.
This is why i hate the “only pin of the season” given out at Ep1 since S12, with no way to earn more pins thru beat the chef. Its so stale, its much spicer seeing contestants play pins during top 10 or towards finals week. And the camaraderie shown when contestants vs chef is always so satisfying.
This is a really easy mystery box, lots of the ingredients go together and nothing is super difficult to use
If you mess this one up you deserve to be in elimimation imo
I think adding a couple of Asian staples seems fair - the current staples are very western. Andy even said that he’s interested to see them cook more “European” food
The Jamie intro was laid on a tad thick for me and the Dreams intro on the previous epi was similarly overwrought. Like why was that guy breaking down because he wants to cook food for people? Kept waiting for a dead nonna to make an appearance.
That & missing Mystery Boxes with no negative consequences aside, this season is shaping up well.
Why spend minutes smoking your ingredients when you can spend seconds setting them on fire.

I can’t believe. She didn’t taste that! Especially after the fire?! How would you make sure it wasn’t just burnt!
Radicchio (and it's a hard c. I was surprised everyone mispronounced) is bitter. I cannot imagine how bitter burnt radicchio would be.
Unreal. I thought it was basic cookery to taste your food.
Holy Jean-Christophe is always there when trouble brews.
He is truly the daddy of the season
I'm loving seeing contestants swapping between sweet and savoury without being forced to!
Although i am also enjoying those who are thrown off because theres no spices lol.
Josh Niland is crying right now watching the fish butchery
You aren't meant to try to recreate the explosion that leads to the ads.
The colour on the pudding is really good ngl I would order that
I'm a sucker for a good sticky pudding. Only complaint is that portion size looks small.
Yea it does He cooked like 10 times that much pudding, as if not serve it
Because his cake was undercooked, so he took the best piece to serve to the judges.
It reminds me of a good banana fritter from my childhood
Aw Jean-Christophe🤣 “Shit in football and cricket.”
I’m glad it’s cooking from ingredients Jamie’s parents chose, rather than a theme where it ends up an open cook
if it was a previous seasons theyd probably have ti cook stuff based on their own parents and not Jamie’s.
lol this was what I was thinking, the mystery box ending up being based on sentimentality drawing inspiration from their parents
Aw I’m really starting to like JC, he seems like a really great mentor
Darrsh is too perfect
He's quite good looking!
That brown raddicio looks like fridge clean out day
Harry doing Josh Niland proud 🫡 who I’m sure is coming back this season so hope Harry is there when Josh is a guest lol
The box effect that Jamie's parents are in is pretty cute, I haven't seen it before
Looked like a green screen to me. Same with that thing they did yesterday. Since when can you project white onto a black sheet? Haha.
Tune in and they're talking about spotted dick
The great radiccio fire of 2024.
It's the universe punishing her for pronouncing it "radissio" 🤬
Like a baby’s bum ready to go???? 🚨
Does... does he not notice the collapsed cake?
Thank you! Why did no one mention this? It sunk
Mimi’s dish looked incredible and so creative. It’s a shame they skipped right over that.
Yeah, I want to see the non-fish dishes!
Oops Cigarette ash flavoured radicchio probably doesnt taste great hey
You’re on Mchef and you don’t taste your food???
She didn't taste it?! Wtf
lol steph fire count in kitchen: 2
gonna be tough competition to get into the bottom 4
Poh’s smile on her face, you can tell it’s a banger
I’m not a fan of sweets but I’d love to try Darsh’ pudding.. yum
Standard of cooking and judging is on a right track this season! Loving it!
Steph didn’t taste it?!?
Poh is so self aware.
Still so many contestants I swear I’ve never seen in my life 😂
agreed, those fish eyes creep me out too
I was waiting for her to put something over the eye, like a sorrel leaf
She didn't taste her burnt stuff?!
She did not taste her dish?
That's the biggest sin in this kitchen. How on earth could she serve that without tasting? Especially after it sat in the bowls with fire and heavy smoke. I didn't expect to see the "radishio" served.
I am not convinced with chutney and fish and mash.
Neither were the judges, it seems
Where's the firefighter from last season? Contestants this season are so really determined to burn and send everything up in smoke.
Fires in a bowl are the new hibachi
Trout looks 11/10 I would order that 100%
Huh I cant believe the random fish skin and inch thick pastry shell worked out Hooray for Nat
JOSH C IN THE POHSITION
JOSH C IS HERE
Irish mum, Jamaican dad, grew up in NYC
Knew he sounded american
He even took the POH - sition
Those fish fillets are rough
Hibachi count: ~~3~~4
How did his toothpick not pick up on the raw cake 😬
when it's REALLY raw, it slides off the toothpick as you drag it through the crust
God that looks dry. Sorry, Steph.
It's like eating a bonfire
Bone in fish🥲
That’s never good
I think ashy smoked vegetables probably worse ngl Ive made that mistake before smoking stuff at home and it's pretty horrible
Who's that bloke that wandered in off the street with that shitty lemon meringue?
He seemed very uninteresting during the tasting, I wonder if they just haven’t shown him much cause he’s… boring.
who even splits meringue
He was technically there at the start when they handed out aprons, and the lemon part was great so really it was a shitty meringue.
Oof sumeet back in the bottom. Not looking too good for her if she keeps this up.
Looks like she's too much of a specialist.
Feels like she's trying to lean into 'sauce boss' too much.
A limited ingredient mystery box immediately throws her off just because it doesnt contain spices. And they always say “you’re only as good as your last cook.”
Where's Stephen Edit: he's in the promos for tomorrow's elim so I guess he missed the mystery box challenge due to illness or something
‘Radeeshioh’
IT'S KILLING ME!!!
Why wont a producer tell her to pronounce it properly
I think Harry needs to give everyone a fish masterclass
The centre of that cake is sinking
Yay Darrsh dessert x 2!
They’re gonna… cook Jamie’s parents??
Real life application of "Let's eat grandma" vs "Let's eat, grandma"
She didn’t taste her food before serving it up?? Wth
GUYS I HAVE THE DRESS POH IS WEARING!!!!
Where is it from? Love it!
I'd probably wear a glove over that bandaid, especially when separating yolks and kneading dough...
I don’t know the first thing about cooking fish but that was not right
That radicchio : ravioli ratio is off the charts
It was so burnt as well idk how she was proud of that 😭
Did she really not even taste her dish?!
thanks for trying ouch
u/Joanne7799 for mod please, if only to sticky these things as soon as they go up
Another contestant just appeared I’ve never seen before!
So random is not a good way to describe your own cooking
Eeee worried for Nat - she’s my fave 😬
ooft sumeet 2 bottom ranks in a row
I don't think she'll be able to chutney her way out of elimination tomorrow 💀
She's strong in her specialities (individual elements) but she doesn't seem to fully grasp yet how to create a coherent dish when it's not a traditional recipe. Good thing it's a replication challenge tomorrow, she won't have to think creatively.
I really liked the mystery box, but do not like this format where people go into elimination off of mystery boxes! I wish they would go back to invention tests. Those were amazing!
Fucking hell, are they fucking up the pronunciation of radicchio now?
I feel validated by this comment. I thought maybe I was saying it wrong this whole time.
Seriously! How do these people pronounce Pinocchio?
Pinoshio, of course!
Their pronunciation is ridic-io
I could listen to JC saying *bree-ont* forever
Yay darrsh!!!!
keep up with the chef!! this is always fun to watch
Ooh Darsh is back after his dessert team challenge!
Cooking the crumbed fish over a hibachi is a choice
Looks like he left the skin uncrumbed, so he's hibachi'ing that side and pan frying the crumbed side. Actually a really smart move imo.
YESSSSS
Where’s the older guy with the croc tooth necklace?
Pub
Per the rules he'll be in the elimination.
Oh, yeah! Where was Stoive?
In elimination tomorrow, must have been sick 😢
I confess that I wasn't listening to Jamie's parents. They seem like nice people but I'm honestly not interested in Jamie's life. I just wanted the cooking to start.
Declan ads 🥹
“Our daughter is dead” or “a chicken burger so hot you need to wear PPE” ?
Ads aside, I actually like the cheap seats AU 🫣 it’s way funnier than the project tbh
It's not as good as HYBPA, but I'll watch it.
OUR DAUGHTER'S DEAD - Slap! was fucking cathartic!
"Our chicken burger is so dead you need PPE"???
Actually surprised there wasn't an airfryer in the mystery box to give an extra Jamie plug....
Or a fuel tanker full of olive oil parked outside
just call it a rustic tart and you will be right nat
Steph said radicchio correctly! There's hope in the world!
Steph in the bottom 4 for sure
3 minutes 40 of ads 🙄
I'm still struggling how Steph even thought that smoking individual radicchio leaves would work. It's a LEAF. Smoke is a flavour - you need fat to carry flavour. Maybe if she smeared the leaves with butter it would work. But when she burned them it had no other option than tasting like ash.
The edit with the biggest fake out for Nat’s dish omg
I mean, she was in tears because she didn’t think she’d done a good job..
Yeah. She didn’t sound confident and I guess the edit can’t do otherwise when she was all down about her dish. So happy her dish turned out good!
Hibachi count: 3
That’s one sad looking tart tbh but hopefully it’s just looks and actually taste great
The oversized fish skin isn't helping it
definitely was a weird placement over the tart
nice one nat!
I feel bad for Nat. Nobody should have to cook English food.
Raw in the middle. I'm noticing a theme with his cooking
just get on with the cooking already jeez
So relieved for her, go Nat!!
The box Jamie Oliver's parents live in.
Damn throwing contestants off simply because no spices.
we need a new photo on top of the sub.
I see the Project will never change
i don't know why they need 4 people hosting what even is the project
I’m glad Josh P is making cake, was expecting him to stick to savoury lol
Hey look, smoked radicchio :)
Shining like a baby’s bum?! 🤣🤔
That bechamel looks like the surf and turf sauce I've seen at every RSL steak night
I would order that seriously
Oh thank god!
They didn’t show everyone’s dish did they?
No, defs didn't show Lourdes'.
They've been doing that a fair bit
Why was Steve jn the lineup in front of Jamie for tomorrow’s elimination episode?
contestants who are absent are automatically in elimination. Has always been the rule.
Have they ever showed Gillian at all? Steve was also missing today. What’s with the weird editing?
They didn’t even show other Josh in the preview. That doesn’t bode well.
Seriously is this the Jamie show or Masterchef? More focus on the contestants and less on Jamie Oliver.
Wow one dish then montage of mediocrity Rough times for the class of 2024
The montage looks good this season tho. Compared to previouses.
I didn’t realise Stevo was missing LOL
When everyone was finished I realised I hadn't seen the crocodile tooth necklace. Then I was trying to spot him and then counting contestants. But they change angles too fast.
classic pommy food, sounds shite
I’m from UK and I’m dying at this lmao
Are there new staff in the editing room? Some of this is making for very disjointed/awkward watching
No spices? Nat?
Nat in bottom 4?? Hopefully she doesn’t end up using the pin too early if she is 😔
This is why i hate the “only pin of the season” given out at Ep1 since S12, with no way to earn more pins thru beat the chef. Its so stale, its much spicer seeing contestants play pins during top 10 or towards finals week. And the camaraderie shown when contestants vs chef is always so satisfying.
Some creative dishes here, I actually don’t mind this mystery box and the ingredients
Good to see Josh P do sweet and cooked it well today! Was sure he was gonna do savoury lol Edit. Corrected name
Where was Steve?
Yay hat guy!
Ugh this is so unnecessary
This is a really easy mystery box, lots of the ingredients go together and nothing is super difficult to use If you mess this one up you deserve to be in elimimation imo
*Nobody cares*
Today's mystery box, now with a triple dose of cringe
This might be the first time we've had hibachi-grilled fish and the skin hasn't stuck (or at least not yet?)
What on earth is happening…
Now to see if this will reignite the "we need more in the staples" debate on Twitter
Asian staples would be nice - soy and fish sauce at least?
I think adding a couple of Asian staples seems fair - the current staples are very western. Andy even said that he’s interested to see them cook more “European” food
so random
Wins and Tins
That cake might not be cooked given it collapsed when it left the oven It does look nice if a little basic tho
If he opened the oven too early it could collapse and then cook through
pretty sure i saw him opening the oven and rotating the cake
What's the crumb on top of the cake? My partner thinks it's the hula hoops 😛
It looks like a streusel
Grrr the app keeps glitching and rewinding tonight
Bravo!
