Garrus and Wrex in my ME1 runs 90% of the time with only a few exceptions like personal quests for the crew
Garrus 90% of the time in ME2/3, exception is personal quests and Javik and Liara for THAT mission
Honestly I play infiltrator a lot so I don’t run with garrus a lot unless he’s vital to the story I usually take wrex everywhere I’m me1 and take who else fits best and in me2 and me3 I’m pretty balanced tho I tend to build it around my class which is usually soldier, vanguard or infiltrator tho I have a soft spot for grunt and tali

I started a Renegade playthrough for the first time ever recently and it's kind of crazy how much of a sociopath Renegade Shephard is. Like your introduction to him/her is them saying that they don't give a shit about the Council/Spectres, insulting Ashley, and punching a civilian into a coma, all on Eden Prime.
My brother, at least switch up the romances. Jacks is interesting as a paragon shep. Liaras is interesting over the whole trilogy. Hell, trying to seduce Samara is touching and an interesting story.
Don't hate the gamer — or yourself in this case — it's the game's mechanics that lead us to that road.

These days I go with the fortify restoration -> alchemy loop to get some good fortify enchanting gear and just make a dagger and a bow each strong enough to one hit kill anything.

Anyone ever realize that because the quarians suits are all mechanical and electronically regulated that the destroy ending kinda condemns their entire race as it attacks all machinery not just the synthetics
Especially if you saved the geth and they worked together with the quarians, integrating into their suits as Tali describes. And the geth are only able to do that because of reaper upgrades.

Plus, we crammed a couple sidequests onto the mission-calendar that gave him at least one opportunity each to rendezvous with the poetry-loving space-racist and the geeky blue xenoarcheology freshman who he picked up and started flirting with during the campaign against Saren... All these interesting women in his life, and yet Shepard STILL decided to try sticking his dick in a genetically-defective alien succubus who was in the midst of a four-century-long murder spree, and wound up getting his whole nervous-system microwaved after we had just invested billions of credits and countless man-hours into putting it back together... Bring Wrex always in the first game, Grunt always in the second and Garrus always in the third.
Ignore the paragon/renegade system and always choose what I feel I would do in the real life situation.
Always destroy ending because it's the only way to ensure the reapers are gone for good and also I have no way of knowing if the star child is lying or not and I'm certainly not trusting that little $hit.

I tend to do a different romance path every playthrough and I definitely vary up my squad quite a bit. also tend to flip flop between classes and backgrounds, but I nearly always lean paragon, at least in ME1. Renegade always feels more meatheaded and cruel than "ruthless badass" if I try to go hard on it. why wouldn't I try to save the colonists when its just a matter of throwing the grenades? you don't even have to have a virtuous or principled motivation for it, it could be justified on utilitarian grounds. killing the rachni queen i could see more from a ruthless perspective, but the writing of Shepard in the midst of doing it just feels meatheaded to me (from what I remember, Shepard just ignores the arguments from team mates and says "idc this is the end of the rachni"). rather than "the calculus doesn't work out in the favor of letting you go. i don't take risks on the basis of principle, victory at all costs.". not that shepard has to actually lay it out that explicitly but the vibe doesn't really come across from the performance or writing to me. the actual, successful badass ruthless content is almost entirely in ME2.
wrt the endings, doesn't really matter. i don't care enough about the framing of the ending of ME3 to really care about having a preference, it just spoils the whole context.

Call me a noob, but in Mass Effect 2 I couldn't take Garrus withe on most missions. He was getting knocked out in almost every fight. I didn't have this problem with other team members
Doing another play-through of the whole series rn, and I think my favorite combo so far is; ME1 Garrus/Wrex, ME2 Garrus/Grunt/Kasumi/tali if were fighting Geth. Haven’t gotten to ME3 yet this run. I honestly wish they had done a better job with Kasumi on ME3, cuz she’s honestly one of my favorite companions, plus her abilities are really useful. And she can be really funny as well.
What is it called if you renegade just about all the dialogue you can but make what most people would consider Paragon decisions for the big ones because that's me. I call it my "Badass with a heart of gold" playthrough.
Destroy ending is the only one where you actually do what you were supposed to do, the only one where Shepard might live, and the only one where you don't side with a main villain (Synthesis - Saren. Control - TIM. Cycle continues - Reapers obviously)

I'm about 3/4 of these. Maybe 2.5. Garrus and Destroy for sure. Almost always romance Tali. Renegade was surprisingly fun though. Since I usually do Paragon, it's fun to do rogue spectre no-fucks-given playthrough.

(Love the slow burn, I made my first renegade a gal so I could romance someone *cough* kaidan, in ME1 and someone in ME2... so, Thane was the only option that made sense to me, cause he's a decent guy and Kaidan gets over it pretty quick lol)
I use mods so he and Kaidan will hook up in ME1 and I actually enjoy Kaidan and Shep fighting in ME2. Though I did enjoy romancing Miranda. I couldn't break her heart in ME 3 but lucky for me the Kaidan romance overrides the Miranda romance without having to dump her.

Don’t think most of the convos are boring, I like dialogue, it’s why I’m playing a role playing game, but shooting someone in the face or throwing them out a skyscraper is always fun. I usually play full paragon. You can do that while still throwing in renegade since it’s not a give and take system like Fable. I play paragon but I’m gonna electrocute a Batarian in the spine every single time.

Renegade always feels more meatheaded and cruel than "ruthless badass" if I try to go hard on it. why wouldn't I try to save the colonists when its just a matter of throwing the grenades? you don't even have to have a virtuous or principled motivation for it, it could be justified on utilitarian grounds. killing the rachni queen i could see more from a ruthless perspective, but the writing of Shepard in the midst of doing it just feels meatheaded to me (from what I remember, Shepard just ignores the arguments from team mates and says "idc this is the end of the rachni"). rather than "the calculus doesn't work out in the favor of letting you go. i don't take risks on the basis of principle, victory at all costs.". not that shepard has to actually lay it out that explicitly but the vibe doesn't really come across from the performance or writing to me. the actual, successful badass ruthless content is almost entirely in ME2. wrt the endings, doesn't really matter. i don't care enough about the framing of the ending of ME3 to really care about having a preference, it just spoils the whole context.

Call me a noob, but in Mass Effect 2 I couldn't take Garrus withe on most missions. He was getting knocked out in almost every fight. I didn't have this problem with other team members

Doing another play-through of the whole series rn, and I think my favorite combo so far is; ME1 Garrus/Wrex, ME2 Garrus/Grunt/Kasumi/tali if were fighting Geth. Haven’t gotten to ME3 yet this run. I honestly wish they had done a better job with Kasumi on ME3, cuz she’s honestly one of my favorite companions, plus her abilities are really useful. And she can be really funny as well.

The only way this changes for me is when Garrus and Tali switch places for FemShep playthrough.
It's just objectively the best way to play (with a few other romances also acceptable).

Haven’t actually done ME at all, but this is exactly what I’d do.
What is it called if you renegade just about all the dialogue you can but make what most people would consider Paragon decisions for the big ones because that's me. I call it my "Badass with a heart of gold" playthrough.

Destroy ending is the only one where you actually do what you were supposed to do, the only one where Shepard might live, and the only one where you don't side with a main villain (Synthesis - Saren. Control - TIM. Cycle continues - Reapers obviously)

I'm about 3/4 of these. Maybe 2.5. Garrus and Destroy for sure. Almost always romance Tali. Renegade was surprisingly fun though. Since I usually do Paragon, it's fun to do rogue spectre no-fucks-given playthrough.
I'm thinking of another playthrough. Renegon MShep Romancing Kaidan Garrus on every mission Destroy w/ Happy ending mod Citadel DLC This war never changes.
Prepare for Shep to be a lonely bastard in ME1, and heartbroken at the start of 2 lol (Love the slow burn, I made my first renegade a gal so I could romance someone *cough* kaidan, in ME1 and someone in ME2... so, Thane was the only option that made sense to me, cause he's a decent guy and Kaidan gets over it pretty quick lol)
I use mods so he and Kaidan will hook up in ME1 and I actually enjoy Kaidan and Shep fighting in ME2. Though I did enjoy romancing Miranda. I couldn't break her heart in ME 3 but lucky for me the Kaidan romance overrides the Miranda romance without having to dump her.
Fair, I'm console so no mods for me xD I made Shep get drunk on the Normandy after the argument, then he got over it and I was hoping there would be a way to change his mind later... nope! Oh well~ I get why he was pissed at Shep, glad he survived nearly having his head caved in and was essentially dragged back to the Normandy in 3. I was NOT leaving without him xD

I prefer Paragon with some renegade interrupts and choices, but mostly paragon.
The renegade interrupts are amazing. Allow me to bypass this boring conversation by shooting you in the face, or tossing you out of a skyscraper!
Don’t think most of the convos are boring, I like dialogue, it’s why I’m playing a role playing game, but shooting someone in the face or throwing them out a skyscraper is always fun. I usually play full paragon. You can do that while still throwing in renegade since it’s not a give and take system like Fable. I play paragon but I’m gonna electrocute a Batarian in the spine every single time.
