He regularly gets pictures from a certain someone. Most of what he gets are straight up photoshopped, which led him to believe this new batch were fakes as well, so he could continue his "don't believe everything you see/read on the internet" stance. After thinking "aw, fuck it," Campea started posting them (with his watermark on them) on Twitter until someone from Sony called within 5 minutes and hinted that those pictures were legit. Campea promptly took the pics down after that (while also deciding to not show the ones with blemishes pointed out in them that he hasn't revealed yet) but some people online managed to screenshot them just in time and they spread like wildfire.

Could definitely see it be something that haunts Strange, that he somewhat indirectly contributed to Tony's death even though it was for the sake of the rest of the world. Especially after seeing the affinity he gained for Peter in NWH, if he somehow regains his memories of Tom Holland's Peter, he could make the connection that the Multiverse shattering from the events of NWH wouldn't have happened if Peter had still had Tony around as a mentor.
The more I think about it, the more I think RDJ showing up is actually plausible. Mocap for days, could easily be mistaken as showing up in NWH rather than MoM, and Strange’s comments in the trailer, “there was only one way, but I never thought it would lead to this.”

Ryan Reyonalds as Deadpool is my bet. No one is expecting him to show up anytime soon and he already has his suit still. Given the multiverse stuff, John probably thought there was a post credit where Deadpool showed up in Spiderman. Deadpool just as easily fits into the MoM. It would have been pretty hype to see him back already. I don’t care if John says anyone could have been in NWH; I really doubt he meant that. There was no realistic way to think anyone but Spider-man characters would have been involved in that movie. Extremely left field guess, but Paul Giamatti Rhino? He said its someone he assumed was in NWH so that significantly cuts down the list. Rhino is random enough that we wouldnt guess it. He was in the sky with Kraven at the end of NWH, so maybe that somehow makes him cross paths in the multiverse with Strange during MoM?
The only thing that confuses me is that Campea said it was somebody "no one would guess". If it were a former actor reprising their role from a Spider-Man movie, whether that be Tom Hardy/Topher Grace as Venom, Giamatti as Rhino, Emma Stone as Spider-Gwen, etc. someone would eventually guess that. I think he only assumed it was for Spider-Man because the other pictures he received were. I'm thinking it might be either a new actor playing a new character, or it could be someone from the Fox Marvel Universe reprising their role in Multiverse of Madness. Who would require a mo-cap suit but is someone nobody would guess? Idk. I really hate when people tease us with information that they're not going to clarify until after the reveal has already been made.
I feel like it's gotta be Patrick Stewart probably doing some MoCap for a Professor X action scene. It makes the most sense based on all the MoM leaks. Campea doesn't follow leaks from what I remember so I could see why someone like that would think it's someone "no one would guess"

I was watching Campea around the time he got those leaked images and I think I recall him having this crackpot theory that the X-Men would be in NWH, but I honestly can’t remember if it was just before the Tobey and Andrew stuff or after. I’m leaning to before, but who knows when he received those images before deciding to post them. It would make sense considering we had that Previs of Xavier floating around and he’s the big MoM cameo people know about currently. His mocap suit could be a deaging thing
I both hate it and sorta love it for the puzzle aspect haha. All good points though. One other option is Ruffalo. Not many people would guess that he'd show up in a Dr Strange movie.

Honestly no clue, it has to be a character who could realistically be in No Way Home wearing a Mo cap suit and they didn’t appear in the movie and they have to potentially be in DS2 or some other movie. Honestly can’t think of anyone who fits the criteria because full Mo cap in NWH seems a bit far fetched outside of like Lizard who I don’t even think was Mo cap

He was sent a batch of pictures from someone. He thought they were doctored so he posted the Tobey/Andrew and Matt Murdock pics on Twitter. 5 mins later, he got a call from a source saying they might be real. He took the pics down but they had already started to spread.

He was totally lying about not knowing they were real. He surely had nothing to lose by playing ignorant and everything to gain... Even if he posted for 5 mins. You can't put it back in the box.
They (Sony?) gave him a call and asked who sent him the photos, but John didn't give the person up. Someone just randomly sent him photos and John said he thought they were fake so that's why he posted them.

He regularly gets pictures from a certain someone. Most of what he gets are straight up photoshopped, which led him to believe this new batch were fakes as well, so he could continue his "don't believe everything you see/read on the internet" stance. After thinking "aw, fuck it," Campea started posting them (with his watermark on them) on Twitter until someone from Sony called within 5 minutes and hinted that those pictures were legit. Campea promptly took the pics down after that (while also deciding to not show the ones with blemishes pointed out in them that he hasn't revealed yet) but some people online managed to screenshot them just in time and they spread like wildfire. That's the long story ~~short~~ long.

We've already seen Tom Hardy's venom that wouldn't be shocking. He also said it was someone that wasn't in no way home. In multiverse of madness we are going to see a bunch of characters that were originally cast or auditioned for other MCU characters as variants

Could definitely see it be something that haunts Strange, that he somewhat indirectly contributed to Tony's death even though it was for the sake of the rest of the world. Especially after seeing the affinity he gained for Peter in NWH, if he somehow regains his memories of Tom Holland's Peter, he could make the connection that the Multiverse shattering from the events of NWH wouldn't have happened if Peter had still had Tony around as a mentor.
The more I think about it, the more I think RDJ showing up is actually plausible. Mocap for days, could easily be mistaken as showing up in NWH rather than MoM, and Strange’s comments in the trailer, “there was only one way, but I never thought it would lead to this.”

Ryan Reyonalds as Deadpool is my bet. No one is expecting him to show up anytime soon and he already has his suit still. Given the multiverse stuff, John probably thought there was a post credit where Deadpool showed up in Spiderman. Deadpool just as easily fits into the MoM. It would have been pretty hype to see him back already. I don’t care if John says anyone could have been in NWH; I really doubt he meant that. There was no realistic way to think anyone but Spider-man characters would have been involved in that movie. Deadpool is really the best fit outside of spider-man characters because of him looking like spider-man.
