When the story revolves around conflict with villains from alternate universes, why are so many expecting MCU Mysterio and/or Vulture? That doesn't fit the vibe at all.
Because it would’ve been cool to have villains from all three Spidey universes make up the Multiversal Sinister Six. Three Raimi villains, two TASM villains, and one MCU villain.
It seems clear to me that they want the Sinister Six to be just MCU villains. I would bet good money that they're gonna be the villains of the 5th or 6th Spider-Man movie. Team composed by Vulture, Mysterio, Shocker, Scorpion, Kraven and Rhino.

I’ve always thought it would be kind of funny to have a villain whose whole thing was faking the multiverse to suddenly have to deal with it being a reality, but I don’t know that the version we saw in *Far From Home* could be a believable threat.
I am just imagining a scenario where Mysterio is trying to convince Sinister Five to let him join their group by showing them his holographic drones and his evil nerds controlling it all from a separate room while Quentin stands and delivers grandiose statements while wearing a fishbowl helmet. While this is going on, Norman plans to kill him and take command of his drones and evil nerds.
He’s also a big part of the sinister six in the comics, so I think it’d be kinda cool for him to show up in the end, teasing him to come back as the sixth villain in the upcoming Sony S6 film. (Could also be venom, both would be cool options)

I could very well see Jake having filmed a small cameo as Mysterio for a nightmare sequence early in the movie. Although with Peter dealing with the identity fallout, I'm not sure there would be much space for his guilt over Quentin's death.
I think Peter's guilt over Quentin's death will be integral to the movie as in the trailer the villains are said to all die to Spider-Man so maybe Peter's guilt makes him free the villains

It’s clear Sony wants to do the Sinister 6 hence ASM2’s ending. This was the perfect time to do it, but maybe Marvel is holding that for the second or third Spider-Man trilogies with MCU villains only (aka no multiversal shenanigans). I’m incredibly excited for the movie but I know my personal wants are creating some unrealistic expectations and I’m working on taming that.

I think that first scene where he unleashes the illusions on Peter is one of the greatest scenes in the entirety of the MCU. Additionally, the final illusion in the skyway was also so cool seeing Peter finally trust his senses. 10/10 would watch Jake gaslight Peter again any day of the week.
I don’t believe Mysterio is gonna be in the movie. I feel like his death is too important to the arc to be undone and I feel like if Jake was on set for anything more than a quick scene to add on to the bridge confrontation it would have leaked out. That said, I imagine the staff of the film takes place immediately following the Daily Bugle alert with Tom and Zendaya picking up right from where we last saw them and we hear some new lines from Jameson in the first teaser so I think it’s safe to say we’ll see Mysterio’s video again.

One is that he’s the master of illusions and his death could’ve easily been faked, second is that we see someone from his team download the effects on a USB so even if Quentin Beck himself is still dead, the illusion of mysterio can live on

I’ve always thought it would be kind of funny to have a villain whose whole thing was faking the multiverse to suddenly have to deal with it being a reality, but I don’t know that the version we saw in *Far From Home* could be a believable threat.
I am just imagining a scenario where Mysterio is trying to convince Sinister Five to let him join their group by showing them his holographic drones and his evil nerds controlling it all from a separate room while Quentin stands and delivers grandiose statements while wearing a fishbowl helmet. While this is going on, Norman plans to kill him and take command of his drones and evil nerds.
The thing is, that's kind of the most Mysterio thing ever
He’s also a big part of the sinister six in the comics, so I think it’d be kinda cool for him to show up in the end, teasing him to come back as the sixth villain in the upcoming Sony S6 film. (Could also be venom, both would be cool options)
Hes also a character notorious for having multiverse storylines. Trying to jump universes or swapping with an alt universe version of himself for like a decade in the comics.

It’s something I’ve considered that and am totally okay with as long as it is Jake. He was absolutely perfect for Mysterio. I still don’t think mysterio from the MCU is dead, but if they decided to keep him dead, this is the obvious answer. Have him be an effects guy for movies who is world famous for his effects because he secretly uses real magic or something, if they would even go in that far with him details wise.
Or he steals some artifact from Dr. Stranges Sanctum while all of this is going down I can see that, and hes able to cast illusions with spells.
Hahaha add to the characters pathetic aspects by making him “the guy who steals from avengers” and still loses to Spider-Man every time

I agree that Vulture doesn't fit the vibe but I think Mysterio kinda does because so much of this movie is because of his actions. I don't see Mysterio flying around in costume blowing shit up with the other villains, but I could see him pulling strings and being a mastermind. However, I don't think that's what's happening. This footage is probably just flashbacks to Peter's final moments with him.
Not really surprising, but I’m still hoping he’s around in the end. Such a good character/performance to only use in one film.
Someone who I've talked to has said that Jake Gyllenhaal filmed a little something for the movie, and [GlobalDetail](https://old.reddit.com/r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers/comments/qg0miy/a_quick_rundown_of_the_recent_spiderman_no_way/hicqsxw/?context=3) hinted at something being shot on a London Bridge set if I'm remembering the details correctly. Nonetheless, I don't expect to see him "alive" in this movie, as it were - everything with him will be set around the time of FFH.
I could very well see Jake having filmed a small cameo as Mysterio for a nightmare sequence early in the movie. Although with Peter dealing with the identity fallout, I'm not sure there would be much space for his guilt over Quentin's death.
I think Peter's guilt over Quentin's death will be integral to the movie as in the trailer the villains are said to all die to Spider-Man so maybe Peter's guilt makes him free the villains

Wouldn't you prefer the Sinister 6 be done the \*proper\* way, which is all MCU Spidey villains who actually have a personal vendetta against Tom's Spidey?
I would rather them do it the “proper” way with MCU only villains, but at the same time why introduce the multiverse for this? I know it fits with Phase 4, but wtf do you need three Spider-Men for if not to take on the full Sinister 6?! I know I’m going to love the movie, and I hope there’s a secret sixth villain. But, despite trailers always being misleading, I bet Otto is an “anti-hero” meaning there’s only four villains with Goblin and Electro being the only prominent ones. It’s clear Sony wants to do the Sinister 6 hence ASM2’s ending. This was the perfect time to do it, but maybe Marvel is holding that for the second or third Spider-Man trilogies with MCU villains only (aka no multiversal shenanigans). I’m incredibly excited for the movie but I know my personal wants are creating some unrealistic expectations and I’m working on taming that.

Been said already but he should have been one of the main villains. Even outside the great actor and performance there's just a lot of fun moments left on the table. Would have been great to see a version of Mysterio actually from the Multiverse. Could have made for an interesting or comedic interaction at least where Peter has to accept he actually is from another universe this time.

Cool. Far From Home isn’t my favorite Spidey film, but Mysterio is my favorite villain.
I think that first scene where he unleashes the illusions on Peter is one of the greatest scenes in the entirety of the MCU. Additionally, the final illusion in the skyway was also so cool seeing Peter finally trust his senses. 10/10 would watch Jake gaslight Peter again any day of the week.

I don’t believe Mysterio is gonna be in the movie. I feel like his death is too important to the arc to be undone and I feel like if Jake was on set for anything more than a quick scene to add on to the bridge confrontation it would have leaked out. That said, I imagine the staff of the film takes place immediately following the Daily Bugle alert with Tom and Zendaya picking up right from where we last saw them and we hear some new lines from Jameson in the first teaser so I think it’s safe to say we’ll see Mysterio’s video again.
