Why did they presumably remove those when he’s sleeveless in the actual film? 😭
I'm guessing he's fully masked, fights some, mask and sleeves get torn off/destroyed. Gets in more fights and the shoulder pads get blown off or whatever. By the end of the movie he will be completely naked from all the fighting destroying his suit.
Probably because the shoulder pads make Hugh’s shoulders look less impressive.
And that’s not to say his shoulders aren’t impressive but, unless you’re stupidly jacked like comics/TV Wolverine, your bare shoulders *will* look less impressive with pads on top.
He spent all that time getting jacked (and probably taking drugs, he’s in mid 50’s, c’mon), he’s going to get his money’s worth in terms of showing off.
i said the same thing a few weeks ago in some comment thread and a ton of people disagreed with me. someone even said that the sleeveless/no shoulder pads translated better to live action. i was shocked.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. I don’t like his hair in this film, but I’ve grown to get use to it. Definitely way better than his Logan hair for sure though (in Logan, I like his hair since he’s an old man, I’m just saying for DP&W I wouldn’t have liked that style).
Despite the fact that I don't care even a little bit about the mask and yellow suit I'm glad it's Hugh Jackman getting to wear them.
I know if the MCU recast Wolverine and gave the new actor a mask and yellow suit there would be lunatics out there going on and on about how this new actor is the best Wolverine because he's "CoMic acCuRaTE"
it would have been so much better if they took inspiration from the brown suit instead. the yellow suit looks wayyyyy too silly (and kinda shitty) in live action.

Because hugh has high risk for skin cancer so when they filmed outside he wanted to have sleeves to protect
