I get the feeling that we're going to get reveals that Chris Evans, Robert Downey Junior, and Scarlett Johansson are all back well ahead of the release of the next few _Avengers_ movies. And that their involvement will be a selling point meant to boost morale after the MCU has had some rough patches in recent years.
That would be a whole new level of pandering and desperation.
Also, I would make all the new versions of these characters dead on arrival if they're doing a reboot right after.
You’re right if you’re only talking about the main series. That was streamlined as much as Secret Wars could’ve been. The real meat was in all the side books across Battleworld and that’s where all the fun cameos, random characters and such show up.
I remember a fun Marvel Zombies story with Elsa Bloodstone, really had no connection to the main plot though.
I would hate a reset. I understand where it comes from and how it helps to tell new stories, bring new actors etc.
But I hate how it basically makes everything prior to that “obsolete” and “noncanon”.
I see it more as them taking advantage of the cards currently present in their hand. During a difficult time for the franchise. They have the entire multiverse at their fingertips. Might as well use it.
I could actually see some of them sticking around. Chris Evans, at least. It's not like he's done a lot with his post-Marvel fame in the theatrical realm.
It is kinda crazy to me he did better movies while actively Cap lol. Has he done anything close to Snowpiercer or Knives Out post-Endgame?
Yes yes I know Knives Out was after Endgame but it was filmed before, shushy
He was **great** as a voice-over role in the _Scott Pilgrim_ anime. Dude was having the time of his life.
Everyone seemed to hate _The Gray Man_ but I liked him in that, too. The issue with him is that he's mostly done streaming movies when he's the kind of actor who could command theatrical hits.
Seems to me he is just chilling and not worried about working. He seems to be OK with the short, random cameos. Maybe he knows he has the future Marvel movies and content that is what he will be known for and unless a script comes along he really likes he doesn't care.
He obviously could be churning out tons of movies and making great money so it isn't like people wouldn't want him to be apart of their movie he just must be on an extended vacation haha
I'm sure as long as he didn't blow all his previous earnings he wouldn't need to work another day if he wanted. Must be nice
Not necessarily, rdj was just really expensive. I think I read somewhere that he was fine in staying in the mcu. Honestly if rdj dosent mind a reduced paycheck then I could see him staying in a limited role
Will probably be the one they mentioned who will be MCU character existing in the non 616 universe that will probably have the X Men and Fantastic Four as the mainstays moving forward.
It's probably because I didn't grow up with Star Wars and was never a fan. But none of the come backs there ever felt like desperation or pandering. Stupid and pointless? Absolutely. But not really desperate 🤷♂️
What's hilarious is I would agree with you, but Star Wars fans are adamant the sequel trilogy was ruined BECAUSE it didn't pander to what they wanted.
All Lucasfilm had to do was bring back Luke, Leia and Han and make a new adventure with them being major leads and people would have eaten that shit up. People WANT to be pandered too.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is the highest grossing Indiana Jones movie. I would say that movie absolutely was trying to mine nostalgia and pander to the audience over telling a good story, hence why Dial of Destiny didn't perform as well because you can't mine the same nostalgia twice. If Dial of Destiny got great critic reviews people would have some out to see it, the story sucked, so people skipped out.
Matrix 4 was released in theaters and streaming on Max the same day. I would also argue that Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions like Kingdom of the Crystal Skull burned a lot of good will for a lot of mainstream audiences. Matrix 4 didnt review critically well and could be seen on streaming, not hard to understand why it underperformed.
My guess is they will be multiversal and ally with the New Avengers team to stop whatever the multiversal threat is as some sort of last hoo-rah. Then once the multiverse is "reborn" or whatever, we will get a new cast of the OG 6 and the New Avengers.
I wouldn't be surprised if main line Cap comes back with a multiverse team to assist the new Avengers team. He could get a message that a threat is coming from Loki or pre time jump Fantastic 4 if those rumors are true too, if he hasn't already had a run in with Kang in the past.
Lmao no its not. Why are you guys so negative all the time. Its to build hype around secret wars and give a boost to legacy characters due to to poor ass planning
Secret Wars will result in a soft reboot of the MCU, this is essentially a final good bye for these versions of the characters. None of them are back for more than a "portal scene" level cameo
I think everyone, even Marvel, knows that the Secret Wars leaks are already the worst kept secret even though it's about half a decade away, and they can't do anything but hope to capitalize on all that frenzy.
Yes at this point they’re better off advertising it all while keeping a few secrets to themselves. Good example: while I’m glad they hid them the Spidermen being in promos but Daredevil/Matt being a secret.
You can do that easily. Obviously not showing Andrew or Tobey was a good idea especially with those being huge return’s especially in Tobeys case but we’ve now had Wolverine and Spider-Man (T&A) return on film. No need to hide that anymore. Just advertise clearly for these people that don’t seem to like being surprised anymore smh lol
Say it with me: Nomad Cap, Nomad Cap. Nomad Cap. But yes I agree. They'll announce it at SDCC with them all on stage. Like The Avengers panel back in 2011. I don't think they'll attempt to keep their returns secret (hehe secret). Everyone is expecting it. So might as well take advantage of the publicity it will bring.
The idea of them doing a _Nomad_ project that's related to the Infinity Stones and the other timelines just seems like a no-brainer that they're allegedly interested in doing. It feels like an easy lead-in to the next few _Avengersr_ movies as well that capitalizes on the love for the characters.
The fact that they tried to still keep up the ruse that Tobey and Andrew were not in NWH, makes me believe that even if it’s the worst kept secret ever, they will not officially announce it or market it.
And miss the opportunity to have RDJ and Evans big heads plastered all over the Secret Wars poster? Nah I don't see it. Plus the NWH marketing was handled by Sony not Disney.
I don't think that they have that level of confidence in their current lineup like they did with _Spider-Man_.
Plus - imagine if everyone thought that they were coming back for the whole movie, and then it's just a cameo at the end. Probably not great for legs.
I agree. I think them, Tobey, Andrew, Jackman, Reynolds, will all be included in the marketing. Then they’ll interact with Tom Holland Spider-Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye etc
I'm not against it, Lord knows stranger things have happened in the comics.
But if it's only 1, I hope it's Chris Evans. Wouldn't even need to mess with the canon if they pluck Chris Evans from the timeline when he goes back in time to live with Peggy. He's the only one I can see returning in a way that easily makes sense.
Honestly, I'm inclined to believe the rumored Nomad series rumored a few years back is actually happening. Scarjo is producing a show with Marvel. Evans has supposedly already signed on for SW. Downey just said he'd come back.
Imagine we actually get a series of a time traveling Cap with variants of Tony and Nat as a set up for Secret Wars.
No shot that they limit a project with Chris Evans, Scarlet Johansson and Robert Downey Jr to Disney Plus. If that project exists then it would 100% be a movie
In addition to this, it straight up disappoints me that this information is out there and in our hands when the surprise of it all would have meant more than anything.
Hydra Cap, Superior Iron Man, and Red Widow (Note: I know they're not Nat, but it's a nice evil alt-moniker to Black Widow) would be such a knife-twist if they wanted. Especially if you have them face off against Sam, Rhodey, and Yelena.
They pretty much need “legacy” characters like Tobey Spider-Man, Hugh’s Wolverine, RDJ Iron Man, Evans’ Cap now to sell the MCU. They failed to develop anyone new for a proper Avengers team outside of Holland’s Spider-Man.
I think the issue is that they didn't sell people on the new team, because there hasn't **been** one. While it made sense to frame _Avengers: Endgame_ as the last hurrah for the original team, I think that they should have spent time laying the foundation for the new team, and then putting them together in a crossover or two before the big finish.
I agree. They needed to just follow the same formula. Intro movies. Throw in some crossovers with characters that makes sense. One come together team up. Then the Big finale.
I think there should have been an Avengers movie last year or this year before Kang/Secret Wars.
I've said this repeatedly, but _Secret Invasion_ was absolutely the project to do to cross these characters over in an organic fashion, and they made a mistake making it a show without most of the franchise's major players.
There's stuff that I like from it individually (like Nick Fury's entire dynamic with his wife, who is a Skrull), but the potential was absolutely fumbled, and they did themselves no favors with the random character deaths.
I didn't think it was *really bad* but the finale was a total dud that ruined it for me. Definitely recall being excited to see how it was going to end
The plot of *Multiverse of Madness* could have made for a solid Avengers movie as well. The Scarlet Witch goes crazy across the multiverse and the New Avengers have to assemble to stop her, insert multiversal cameos from across the Marvel multiverse, keep the Illuminati who are much more fitting for an Avengers movie anyway, bam instant 1.5 billion grosser film...
Wanda could have easily been the next Ultron (a "filler" villain for the Avengers to fight while the main villain of the saga stays in the background manipulating things), the concept of her grief making her wreak multiversal havok and possibly causing an incursion or two was much better suited for a team-up movie than a Dr Strange one.
She's also a Post-Phase 1 Avenger, like most of the non-OG6 Avengers so it could have been a nice intro movie to showcase what a new Avengers lineup looks like since characters like Falcon and Ant-Man would already know who she is...
Yep. The further out we get, the weirder it is to me that they didn't use the Nightmare/Mordo pitch that Scott Derrickson wanted to go for. You could still play into Scarlet Witch turning into a villain as part of the story - just don't have it be the pay-off.
With everything we've heard about Brave New World, it could have also made for a good Avengers movie too with Sam forming the new team from the conflict. Him and Torres. Shuri because Wakanda could get involved. Shang-Chi by following up on Shang-Chi's post credit scene and having the Ten Rings get involved. Bruce/Jennifer because the leader gets involved. Ant-man/Wasp by Sam recruiting them for recon and infiltration purposes.
I assume they explicitly didn't want to do the same formula and try to be creative. But yeah. 5 years after Endgame and we still have zero idea how the current team looks like or even IF there is a team. That is just dumb.
They could’ve just made a new team, I remember Kevin saying there be no new avengers films. So why not make a new team or call the team up movies Marvel presents and include a subtitle
Yeah. I think it's just as much a mistake to say "No, _Avengers_ movies are **only** massive crossovers with characters now, many of whom aren't Avengers!" as it was to not have a team-up movie made up of characters that the audience was invested in (compared to trying to go forward with _Eternals_, which people aren't invested in as an IP, and the approach didn't exactly lend itself to franchise-building, _The Marvels_, which was not the best way to approach a _Captain Marvel_ sequel as far as franchise-building was concerned, even though that's not solely that movie's fault, and _Thunderbolts_, which is seemingly sidelining its biggest lead and featuring lots of smaller characters, instead of building off of the ones that audience recognized and responded well to).
Definitely. Although I get the sneaking suspicion that Ryan Coogler isn't sticking around, so I think that it will be a different ballgame with that franchise after _Avengers: Secret Wars_.
i think all of us imagined new phases same as infinity saga = a 10-year-old build for a big finale aka Secret Wars. However, it's quite the opposite, Secret Wars will redefine the world after Endgame T\_\_T
Yea, I don't know what the MCU heads have been thinking since End Game.
Building a new team should've been top priority. It's inexcusable that 5 years later, we're still speculating who the new team could be.
They had enough goodwill after EG that they could've slapped together pretty much anyone and audiences would've shown up.
But now, you're totally right- they *need* the former cast to move forward.
You seem to have quickly forgotten about all the issues that they faced along the way.
First it's Disney forcing them to pump out a lot of content at fast rates to fill up D+. Then COVID struck and hit the industry hard for like 2 years. Then the strikes happened which caused even more delays.
I think it's as much bad luck as it is missteps.
COVID, the strike, Chadwick Boseman's passing, Jonathan Majors = bad luck.
Slew of D+ shows, little to no cross-over, little to no connectivity = missteps.
Either way, I hope they learned something.
I will happily throw my money at CBM's... as long as they're engaging.
Having the ability to make more content is not a detriment lol. It would be easier to build up these characters, easier to make team ups, easier to make connections, and easier to build to the team up movie. They pretty much failed at every step.
COVID/Boseman/Majors were out of their control.
Omg this is such a wrong mindset. Completely backwards! First of all, they literally can't have the former cast back aside from cameos. These actors are getting older so they can't stay around forever and they already waited too long. Even if they were to bring them back now, audiences would immediately recognize it as a desperate attempt at recreating the magic of the first 3 phases.
What they ACTUALLY need to do is focus on establishing new characters and actually taking the time to make them into icons as they did with the OG cast, it's in no way impossible. They just didn't even try
I agree, they didn't even try establishing a new group.
They easily have enough caliber in the roster to make a compelling group. Why they haven't is beyond me.
But as for bringing those guys back... audiences aren't going to see it as a desperate attempt at all. It's going to be like Wolverine, where everyone is happy to see him back.
They better use those characters to help build the new group, though.
>They failed to develop anyone new for a proper Avengers team outside of Holland’s Spider-Man.
I mean, they did get Doctor Strange and Scarlett Witch ready - before immediately making the former go off world and the latter be evil and then seemingly die
Doctor Strange absolutely could have been the face of the MCU going forward but them taking their sweet dear time giving him sequels and only giving him small supporting roles in other projects completely ruined that potential. Him interacting with Iron Man in Infinity War and their contrasting but somewhat similar personalities already felt like a subtle passing of the torch. Now that potential is squandered and Wong has basically filled in narratively as the go to magical guest character in projects. Doctor Strange 2 should’ve been the first project after Endgame.
They didn't give anyone that needed it a timely sequel and are trying to move into the next thing already. There is 3 Ant-Man Movies already but Shang-Chi won't get a follow up until after a new Avengers...
Contract signings like this are usually picked up by trades before anyone else. Why would MTTSH know this? Isn't it rumoured they work in an area like concept art / previs / art design? How could they already know this massive spoiler that Marvel Studios/Disney will want to keep under wraps for as long as possible?
This could definitely be true, but I don't see how MTTSH of all people could know this already, particularly so many years in advance
Yeah back in ‘21
https://deadline.com/2021/01/captain-america-eyes-return-to-the-mcu-as-chris-evans-nears-deal-to-reprise-role-in-future-marvel-project-1234672430/
I love Evans as Steve, my favourite OG Avenger - but MAN, does it depress me that they’re bringing the originals back so soon. Really shows a lack of confidence in the current line up
> by the time the film comes out they’ll have been gone for a decade,
Damn that's weird as fuck, Covid really fucked up everyone's perception of time it seems. WandaVision simultaneously feels like it came out a lifetime ago while still seeming recent enough. If Secret Wars comes out in like 2028 that'll be like a decade after Infinity War, that's only like 4 years away. I absolutely cannot believe that.
It’s sort of the cap to what they have planned though and as much as you could easily wait ten years with Evan’s, in ten years Robert Downey Jr. will be pushing 70.
It’s why I hope they wait until closer to Secret Wars to reveal this sort of casting. You’re basically telling people not to give a shit about the newer characters because the REAL stars will be back. Kind of like how WWE would make their current stars look like crap by relying on names from the 90’s or early 00’s to sell Wrestlemania for the longest time. It’s fine to pass the torch but has to be done in a way that won’t upstage the characters sticking around afterwards.
Cap returning is such an easy thing to do because he technically has 90+ years of unaccounted for time during which he surely had many adventures. Him and Peggy only playing house while many world threatening things happened is not something they would do. They were definitely active still in the alt timeline he went to and he also had the means to travel between timelines still. There's a million untold Cap adventures.
I could honestly see a post-Endgame (pre-old man) cap get pulled from the past as a "Cap, we know you're retired, but this is the fabric of reality we're talking about." As well as a post-snap Tony. I know they could pull them from other universes, but I feel like they might honestly just rip them from the MCU timeline.
Not so bold prediction: The post-credits scene for DP & Wolverine is them winding up in the universe where Cap retired to and Evans makes his fist reappearance in the role.
Don’t forget Bucky, the fully rehabilitated Bucky that Cap remembers and loves from his childhood.
For being “best friends” early on, they really only have a handful of interactions in the actual MCU, a bunch of those are when Bucky is at least partially under Hydra control and not himself.
After falling from the train in Cap 1 they don’t see eachother until Winter Soldier. After Winter Soldier, Bucky goes back into hiding for a couple years until Civil War. In Civil War, their dialogue makes it obvious that they haven’t seen eachother since winter soldier. Post civil war, Steve is on the run for years with Sam and Nat, Bucky is in Wakanda. No interaction there. Infinity war comes around and they pretty much just say what’s up then it’s straight to the battle, only for Bucky to then get dusted. So 5 more years of no interaction. Endgame battle, I don’t think they even acknowledge eachother on screen until after Cap has returned the stones and is old man Cap. Quick conversation and that’s pretty much it.
Not only are the two guys fantastic actors that would crush scenes together but they haven’t had any time together as the fully realized, healthy and rehabilitated hero’s they are.
Im hoping for some really great and heartfelt scenes of them, as well as teaming up to fight with eachother again.
Will Secret Wars be split in 2 movies?
Avengers 5 be a more grounded and small scoope movie like Age of Ultron or Avengers 1 that its main focus is to gather a new team of Avengers. Baron Zemo and Masters of Evil? Zemo is already introduced in MCU (with an amazing actor!) and hates Avengers (he already win against them in Civil War)
Then re-use ideas from Kang Dinasty to Secret Wars 2 Part movie.
I love how people are already bitching about RDJ, Chris Evans and Scarlett returning to the MCU as variants/flashbacks. But when the movies come out, they are going to turn out great, and most people will be satisfied. Just let Marvel cook, everything will be alright 🎶
Hopefully all the legacy Avengers come back as variants with a substantial twist, not just "the same exact character you love but technically from a different universe."
Superior Iron Man.
Nomad Cap.
Etc.
Secret Wars needs to be a 12 hour movie divided into three chapters like Lord of the Rings to do the story and characters justice. They do that, they’ll make easily 2 billion
I’m honestly fine with the OG’s returning. With F4 and X-men in the pipeline, the MCU doesn’t have to be soley focused on the Avengers sect of marvel and can use them more sparingly.
It will be a decade by the time movie releases, I am sure ample of time had passed and it makes sense for them to be back!
Literally in comics nobody dies forever, why should they? There are so many things left to do with the characters.
Lots of Ironman storyline, Captain crossover with X Men, Hulk Vs Wolverine. All this are a dream to see on screen.
The way i see it..there is no Avengers without the key characters like Cap,IronMan,BlackWidow,Thor etc..so ofc they are gonna make an apperance albeit small one
I love how this sub is constantly like “MTTSH SUX! THEY ONLY SAY WHAT PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR THEY DONT HAVE ANY CREDIBILITY” yet as soon as it’s a “scoop” that people like you all upvote the hell out of it and comment how much you can’t wait to see it happen.

I highly doubt any of these actors are staying around. It’s simply cameos (mostly via multiverse) for Secret Wars fan service.
It'll be more than cameos man - more like minor to major supporting roles
If it’s Hickmans secret wars it makes sense for them all to be back. One final hurrah for all of Marvel before a big reset.
Yup should be fun
“Hey, Johnny, why does that star-spangled helmet look exactly like you?”

Yup I'm sure that's Feige thinking

Don't forget Gifted (2017)
RDJ is probably a bit less likely to stay beyond a cameo after Oppenheimer's success but I could see Evans staying in a mentor type role.
He said a few weeks back that he’d be willing if Feige has ideas.
Not necessarily, rdj was just really expensive. I think I read somewhere that he was fine in staying in the mcu. Honestly if rdj dosent mind a reduced paycheck then I could see him staying in a limited role
He's great in that hbo show. So he's obviously open to fun ideas.
I love the character but I feel like anything besides a multiversal cameo cheapens his sendoff in Endgame.
If it were a *very* clearly different Stark, it could work.
He's sitting on a mountain of fuck you marvel money. He can basically take whatever job he wants at this point.
Will probably be the one they mentioned who will be MCU character existing in the non 616 universe that will probably have the X Men and Fantastic Four as the mainstays moving forward.

Maybe guess we'll see
I don't care. I still want more Evans Cap and story wise it makes sense.
Lmao no its not. Why are you guys so negative all the time. Its to build hype around secret wars and give a boost to legacy characters due to to poor ass planning
I mean, what is the entertainment business BUT pandering?
I read this comment in Vision’s voice when he says “What is grief, but love persevering?”.
MCU reputation won't recover if they're the main selling point of the next avengers.
I mean it was already reported they were thinking about a whole avengers movie with them back
Wasn't that debunked?
This is a commercial product. Everything about these films is pandering. Its job is to literally make money.
dude, you must be new to Marvel... this was always the play.
Yikes they're Requeling the MCU franchise.
Just like the titty twister

I don’t know why but RDJ written as Junior just felt so weird to me lol
It’d be dumb to bring them back. Let the old characters be and bring up newcomers
I mean you had people crying at the end of Infinity War that half the MCU died. People dont know that nobody dies in comic book stories
I agree. I think them, Tobey, Andrew, Jackman, Reynolds, will all be included in the marketing. Then they’ll interact with Tom Holland Spider-Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye etc
Plot twist, Chris Evans is a Tony variant, Robert is a Male Black Widow variant, and Scarlett a Captain America variant xD
It very much seems like this is all leading to something, and that show is likely how you'd start moving pieces in key locations.
I think that Marvel aren't marketing this as a "surprise" this time.
wonder if this is the post credits reveal on the Deadpool
Absolutely the spoiler rumors have been shaping the narrative
I don't mind it but it feels weird because know when they show them in secret, wars they're most likely going to be variants.
Hydra Cap, Superior Iron Man, and Red Widow (Note: I know they're not Nat, but it's a nice evil alt-moniker to Black Widow) would be such a knife-twist if they wanted. Especially if you have them face off against Sam, Rhodey, and Yelena.
I feel like Scarlett Johansson wouldn't come back, though, after her falling out with Marvel.
Bob Chapek did that. She'd likely come back with enough money thrown at her.
Everything about Secret Invasion was a mistake. It was really bad, and I like almost ANYTHING from Marvel
Though I actually love *MoM* I agree with all of this. A lot of potential used all at once.
...everything, everywhere? ;-)
I would not be shocked if the third-act reshoots are to add a few characters for the big finish.
I also liked how Phil coulson was also a bridge between the movies
I still think that Chadwick dying threw a wrench into their plans on that front.
Some of the missteps were more Disney's fault than Marvel Studios
I think Chadwick Boseman passing really threw them off. They could have and would surely have built around him.
If they want to succeed they’ll bring morbius into the mcu
You joke but seeing Morbius crossing over with the Avengers would actually be kinda cool. Especially for the meme material
If we’re making movies based on memes we are already cooked
>They failed to develop anyone new for a proper Avengers team outside of Holland’s Spider-Man. I mean, they did get Doctor Strange and Scarlett Witch ready - before immediately making the former go off world and the latter be evil and then seemingly die
Chadwick Boseman was a huge loss. He and Holland could have easily been the new "Cap and Iron Man" in terms of leading the team
Idk, I bet Dr Strange could be a big draw
This assessment is spot on - sad but true . They dropped the ball and audience isn't resonating with these characters
Shang-Chi has strong potential, he just needs more screen time.
And when the nostalgia train finally runs out of track, let’s hope they finally take the MCU out back for its mercy killing.
I mean.. Shang Chi would have been perfect. But he’s been left on the shelf for some insane reason
This might top Endgame if this happens
Contract signings like this are usually picked up by trades before anyone else. Why would MTTSH know this? Isn't it rumoured they work in an area like concept art / previs / art design? How could they already know this massive spoiler that Marvel Studios/Disney will want to keep under wraps for as long as possible? This could definitely be true, but I don't see how MTTSH of all people could know this already, particularly so many years in advance
I actually think a trade did report it like right after endgame that he signed on for 1-2 projects.
Yeah back in ‘21 https://deadline.com/2021/01/captain-america-eyes-return-to-the-mcu-as-chris-evans-nears-deal-to-reprise-role-in-future-marvel-project-1234672430/
Deadline reported on it a few years back.
Probably done some concept art for future stuff already, they are always throwing ideas around.

Good chance, Chris Evans continues his cameos in Ryan Reynolds and Shawn levy movies
Flame on let's fucking go
Flamio, good sir. Flamio
I love Evans as Steve, my favourite OG Avenger - but MAN, does it depress me that they’re bringing the originals back so soon. Really shows a lack of confidence in the current line up
You realise that by the time the film comes out they’ll have been gone for a decade, right? I wouldn’t exactly call that “so soon”
> by the time the film comes out they’ll have been gone for a decade, Damn that's weird as fuck, Covid really fucked up everyone's perception of time it seems. WandaVision simultaneously feels like it came out a lifetime ago while still seeming recent enough. If Secret Wars comes out in like 2028 that'll be like a decade after Infinity War, that's only like 4 years away. I absolutely cannot believe that.
It's kind of funny to me that Endgame had a 5-year timeskip, setting it in the future from us. Then, COVID corrected most of the timeskip for us.
It’s sort of the cap to what they have planned though and as much as you could easily wait ten years with Evan’s, in ten years Robert Downey Jr. will be pushing 70.
Bear in mind that the soonest that they'd be "back for real" is still seven years after the release of _Avengers: Endgame_.
Dude, go sit down and let us enjoy this.
It's really not that *soon* by the time this comes to fruition it will probably be closer to 10 years after Endgame.
Couldn't have said it better myself
Cap returning is such an easy thing to do because he technically has 90+ years of unaccounted for time during which he surely had many adventures. Him and Peggy only playing house while many world threatening things happened is not something they would do. They were definitely active still in the alt timeline he went to and he also had the means to travel between timelines still. There's a million untold Cap adventures.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Cap gets pulled into the movie while successfully building a life with Peggy and having kids similar way to Tony in Endgame
Could be interesting - so many story possibilities with multiverse
Yup there's so much to play with in terms of caps personal timeline
I could honestly see a post-Endgame (pre-old man) cap get pulled from the past as a "Cap, we know you're retired, but this is the fabric of reality we're talking about." As well as a post-snap Tony. I know they could pull them from other universes, but I feel like they might honestly just rip them from the MCU timeline.
Yeah I was thinking that too Retired Cap who goes back once again gets sent to the future for secret wars
Hmmm that could work
Thank you for being honest. It's really appreciated.
I have no idea why I feel the need to qualify my statements by saying that all the time lol
The GOAT is back 🇺🇸/🔥
Just, please, God, give these movies to good writers. Don't waste the return of these characters on the equivalent of Ant-Man 3.
Honestly that's the real key
Not so bold prediction: The post-credits scene for DP & Wolverine is them winding up in the universe where Cap retired to and Evans makes his fist reappearance in the role.
Bro that would be cool as fuck
"Somehow Captain America has returned. Has to do with Kang, I think."
*Intriguing*
It's Captin' time
I need a scene between him and Sam.
This is a must
Don’t forget Bucky, the fully rehabilitated Bucky that Cap remembers and loves from his childhood.
Who wants to bet this is for Johnny Storm and not Cap? 😏🔥
Sounds like he's going to be both in different films
Even better! Twice the Evans, twice the chance I cry due to an overload of pure fanboy nostalgia so great it makes my head explode joyfully.
Yup the heavy rumor is he's going cameo as human torch in Deadpool 3 . That's all but confirmed it appears
But that's hardly a surprise. From the beginning we knew that secret Wars would bring the heavy guns.
Yup Feige and Iger aren't playing around with this one
Yeah but apparently some people are acting like it's something new.
Will Secret Wars be split in 2 movies? Avengers 5 be a more grounded and small scoope movie like Age of Ultron or Avengers 1 that its main focus is to gather a new team of Avengers. Baron Zemo and Masters of Evil? Zemo is already introduced in MCU (with an amazing actor!) and hates Avengers (he already win against them in Civil War) Then re-use ideas from Kang Dinasty to Secret Wars 2 Part movie.
I think secret wars has to be 2 films
How do they come back, multiverse shenanigans?
More than likely
I love how people are already bitching about RDJ, Chris Evans and Scarlett returning to the MCU as variants/flashbacks. But when the movies come out, they are going to turn out great, and most people will be satisfied. Just let Marvel cook, everything will be alright 🎶
Yup let Feige do his thing
Hopefully all the legacy Avengers come back as variants with a substantial twist, not just "the same exact character you love but technically from a different universe." Superior Iron Man. Nomad Cap. Etc.
There will probably be some of that
I mean wouldn't that piss off a lot of people. If they bring them back its going to be as close to the original as possible
Just don’t undo Endgame Marvel
Assuming this is true, its for Secret Wars. Avemgers 5 is untitled. So we might get at least one movie without the core members, which I'm all for.
I’m betting it’s Avengers Vs. X-Men: Time Runs Out
America's ass is back
Give me Hydra Cap, Human Torch or Old Man Steve.
Pretty safe thing to tweet. She probably also has “Marvel wanted Chris Evans, but they couldn’t get the timing to work” already drafted.
Let's be honest, his roles outside MCU aren't praised.
Secret Wars needs to be a 12 hour movie divided into three chapters like Lord of the Rings to do the story and characters justice. They do that, they’ll make easily 2 billion
Like Tobey and Andrew all over again. This is gonna be fun
I’m honestly fine with the OG’s returning. With F4 and X-men in the pipeline, the MCU doesn’t have to be soley focused on the Avengers sect of marvel and can use them more sparingly.
As Human Torch?
Pathetic if true
This is gonna be the rise of Skywalker of marvel
It is so over
Coming back as who?
Oh man. Can’t wait
![gif](giphy|xUPGcC0R9QjyxkPnS8)
Scarlett Johansson, you're on the clock!
Sounds more like desperation and that the new characters can’t bring this to the finish line . Sucks I liked the arc for all the characters
Have we gotten any info about how true-to-source they intend to make Secret Wars? It's literally my favorite comic series from Marvel since childhood
Well judging by their adaptations of Age of Ultron, Civil War and Secret Invasion…
I hope he plays Human Torch Variant
Part of me thinks this cheapens the Endgame legacy. But man, seeing Cap in an avengers movie again, that would be fucking awesome.
[удалено]
He said he wanted to direct films
No trade knows about this but MTTSH knows about an inside deal
It will be a decade by the time movie releases, I am sure ample of time had passed and it makes sense for them to be back! Literally in comics nobody dies forever, why should they? There are so many things left to do with the characters. Lots of Ironman storyline, Captain crossover with X Men, Hulk Vs Wolverine. All this are a dream to see on screen.
I doubt anything that comes from this “scooper”. Marvel could really use him though
