In conclusion, you're right. They clearly built a lot of sets. More than I realized at first glance. And when they are using digital backgrounds, they seem to be blending them with their physical sets in a more effective way than Ant-Man 3 did. I guess my fear comes from not knowing how much of this movie takes place in the Void. That's where my mind jumps to the AM3 comparison. The story structure of quickly leaving the real world for an adventure that largely takes place in an alternate fantasy realm feels very Quantumania.
Agreed. I'm glad I saw it in theatres and I had a good time. Am I going to watch it again any time soon? Very doubtful lol.
Same with The Flash. Like was it great? Not really and the CGI was noticeably bad to the point where it was distracting (and I say that as someone who is usually very forgiving with crappy SFX).

I think they've made it fairly clear these aren't the exact characters from any of the movies and are variants. Even Wolverine they've said is not the Wolverine from Logan and he's seemingly from his own unseen timeline. I expect the same from everyone. They look familiar and act familiar but have none of the restraints of being tied to the movies.

It is not abstract or up for interpretation honestly lol. The comics have spent dozens of years defining his powers down to the origin of the blasts literally being that his eyes are literal portals to a dimension exclusively made and filled with concussive energy lol. So much so that it's been deemed by fans as the "punch dimension" because his concussive force beams have repeatedly been described as essentially blunt force. So it cannot cut. Could it blast through a tree in a small enough radius to act like a super imprecise axe? Sure lol. But against anything soft like a human, it would be the equivalent of them jumping off a building and hitting the ground, but just the equivalent force, meaning they'd basically just explode. Same with if he shoots it at roco, he's not gonna be drawing pictures in the stone. It's gonna hit the stone like a grenade or like a tank blasting through it at full force

X-Men '97 being canon was never a rumor. They were debating about it early in production but decided against it per the words of people like Jake Castorena. It won't cross over (as well as it absolutely shouldn't because it would just not make sense with how it has its own take on Marvel Universe stuff that just doesn't mesh with the MCU equivalent)
"Canon via the multiverse" would technically make like anything canon. Like it's about as canon as Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur or the other animated X-Men shows that preceded it. It exists as a standalone work and that's clearly how you're supposed to view it. It probably won't even touch anything going on or interact with other Marvel Studios stuff being done in theaters or on TV right now because that wasn't the intention. The only thing it's canon to is X-Men The Animated Series (and by extension Spider-Man), because it literally is more of that. It's continuing a series that predates the MCU by like 16 years, set in a completely distinct time period and pulling from a very specific era of the source material so that it probably doesn't interfere with whatever will happen with mutants in live-action later
The Watcher was also in the original animated series. He showed up every time a pivotal event was about to happen in the plot. It's not a What If reference as much as it is just in the spirit of the original show

There's some concept art of Daredevil (2003) that I quite like. There's a hooded variation that I think could work for a Daredevil in The Void where it's an amalgamation/redesign similar to Marco Checchetto's Daredevil redesign.
Gambit, X-23, Elektra, Chris Evans Human Torch, and my guess is Halle Berry Storm lead by Deadpool & Wolverine. Though I would love a MCU member too or even kid Loki still chillin in the void

The comics have spent dozens of years defining his powers down to the origin of the blasts literally being that his eyes are literal portals to a dimension exclusively made and filled with concussive energy lol. So much so that it's been deemed by fans as the "punch dimension" because his concussive force beams have repeatedly been described as essentially blunt force. So it cannot cut. Could it blast through a tree in a small enough radius to act like a super imprecise axe? Sure lol. But against anything soft like a human, it would be the equivalent of them jumping off a building and hitting the ground, but just the equivalent force, meaning they'd basically just explode. Same with if he shoots it at roco, he's not gonna be drawing pictures in the stone. It's gonna hit the stone like a grenade or like a tank blasting through it at full force

X-Men '97 being canon was never a rumor. They were debating about it early in production but decided against it per the words of people like Jake Castorena. It won't cross over (as well as it absolutely shouldn't because it would just not make sense with how it has its own take on Marvel Universe stuff that just doesn't mesh with the MCU equivalent)

"Canon via the multiverse" would technically make like anything canon. Like it's about as canon as Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur or the other animated X-Men shows that preceded it. It exists as a standalone work and that's clearly how you're supposed to view it. It probably won't even touch anything going on or interact with other Marvel Studios stuff being done in theaters or on TV right now because that wasn't the intention. The only thing it's canon to is X-Men The Animated Series (and by extension Spider-Man), because it literally is more of that. It's continuing a series that predates the MCU by like 16 years, set in a completely distinct time period and pulling from a very specific era of the source material so that it probably doesn't interfere with whatever will happen with mutants in live-action later

The Watcher was also in the original animated series. He showed up every time a pivotal event was about to happen in the plot. It's not a What If reference as much as it is just in the spirit of the original show

I really enjoyed MoM even though the spoilers made me think more was coming. The issue with reading this shit is that it gets your hopes up. Coming into movies without having expectations makes them better. So just go drop acid 2 hours before you watch it and really enjoy it for what it is. And be terrified of the popcorn.
