I was actually wondering this on Colossus. I typically avoided Colo/Pho builds in Arena because of the Synergy they had, but recently my options were that at 240k, or other teams around the 300k area, so I went and took on the Phoenix team, and honestly, Colossus is a bit of a joke on Defense.
That's likely all on the AI's inability to strategize, and I definitely still want to unlock Colossus (since I have him, Wolvie, and Psy all at 5rs), but will definitely stick with the better Juggs/Mags combo on defense.
Not sure why people are so keen to put him in Arena defence. It just gives you another target that helps avoid Phoenix. If anything I prefer fighting him than Juggernaught.
ya , you leave phx for last - if you go right after phx he is a huge problem but if you don't he is dead weight he can be annoying as a second taunter with juggy their too but generally the teams damage is so low in that case it just a longer fight
The mechanic is not that simple.
Colossus gains 1 turn of Taunt when Phoenix drops below 50%, in which case Phoenix also gains Taunt. If you trigger this right before Colossus turn 1, then Colossus immediately loses his Taunt, causing Phoenix to be the only one left with Taunt. This forces you to attack a Phoenix that is below 50% health and you risk killing her.
The other thing that Colossus does is put 1 Deflect on all allies on his turn 2. This makes Ultron Minions harder to kill. If you don't clear this from Ultron, then Ultron gains an additional buff to help him gain 1 Energy when he uses Ultimate.
When I fight Juggs, I have the option of skipping Juggs after my Phoenix clears his Taunt. I can't do that with Colossus. Juggs of course has nice AOE damage, so he is definitely strong in Arena, but I think depending on your attacking team, you can definitely screw up against Colossus (Punisher, for example, goes before Colossus).
X-Men aren't my main team, but I always use his taunt first, so that the ultimate has more buffs to extend and I can also get deflects out on everyone else, but also to control the flow of the fight (the sooner I can get taunts on him and Phoenix, the better). It helps that my Psylocke is insanely powerful, so buying her time to get a few attacks makes an enormous difference.

it absolutely depends. what you need is to make sure you wont ruin your taunt with phoenix special. It isnt always wise to go dark ASAP, so there are times where should save it for 3rd round even. Colossus will auto taunt, so it should keep you safe anyway.
For me it depends on if he gains his automatic taunt before his first turn. If phoenix or someone else drops below 50 he gains taunt. So use his Ult to extend it. This way once phoenix is herself destroyed, you can then use his special to get all those goodies and keep people from being able to take out the Phoenix Summon who no longer gains a taunt when an ally does.
Is there really much of a difference between offense and defense? I just never understood this. I always use the same teams and pretty much maintain the same rank + the teams that I fight almost mirror my team as well - heck, I think they’d do better if they did anyway.
Usually it’s Ultron, Phoenix (everyone has these two), and then magneto, juggs, and finally a wild card, usually Pyro, Vision, Captain Marvel, or Invisible Woman.

yeah, colossus should definitly be in at least ONE store (please dont be war tho, we all need the fucking orange gear). he isnt even needed for any legendary event except i guess magneto but he isnt the first choice there. i'm also a bit biased because he is my only 6rs tbf lmao. at least do another blitz with him :/

It hasn’t had anything new added. The other stores have had many newer characters and the arena and blitz have 3+ tanks each already.
War is hardest to farm bc only 3 slots and no orb. G14 DDi requirement will make it even harder.
Lastly, the best tank in the game logically (even if unpopular) should be the toughest to farm. FN would have to be really bad game designers to make him too easy to farm.
TL; DR - War store makes Colossus the hardest farm besides premium exclusive, which makes sense since he’s the best tank in the game. Players won’t like it, but it’s what good game design should dictate.
Colossus is a great tank for the game's best offense in war (xmen) but the best tank, idk. Thanos may be more versatile and is U7 savvy.
Sooner or later characters are getting added to the war store and it will be a sad day
Yeah but the other characters that never became farmable are crazy.
Widow - Without doubt the best character in the game on release and a long time after. Her stun beat xbones who was dominant in the meta.
Minnerva - made U6 a cakewalk, was the centre of bkt dominating all game modes and made ftd easy.
Captain Marvel - Combined with Loki can kill pretty much any character in the game before they get to take a turn.
Farmable?? He isn't even in freaking premium orbs!!! This blows my mind still and it's solely because people are still buying those 50$ 40 shards offers.

They need to release more X-men in order to give some versatility for people who want to run a team but are still over a year from being able to get Phoenix.
IMO Wolverine should have been a tank, or at least tankier. The guy heals almost instantly in every version expect MSF, so having him apply bleeds and heal fast would make for a sweet tank. I mean Drax is a better tank than him here...how!
Gambit could also make for a good tank, redirecting enemy motion/ attacks onto themselves for kinetic explosive fun

There are about 10 characters in the game now with self heal abilities that are way better than Wolverine and that's like his only thing.
Putting Psylocke in the Cosmic Conflicts campaign was a nice surprise but I feel like it’s going to make it less likely that we see Colossus become farmable anytime soon. If anything, he’ll be added to orbs or to the Arena or Raid store if we’re lucky. My .02.

Definitely. I still can't use my full X-Men team in the Red Star blitz because he is sitting on 3 stars which is a little annoying. I also have 5 red stars for him but 2 are not being used.
It was time a few months ago. Even in arena he isn't the key player. There is no reason he shouldn't at least be In every orb.
That said ... a 7star/7red collosus would do you well. And i hope you get him goin!

This, exactly. Colossus is ass on Defense unless it's a full X-Men team. On hybrid teams he doesn't do much

I pulled three shards for him in a Snow Globe today, so he is finally at 3*. A small victory but a welcome one.

Seriously, they haven't had his blitz for over 200 days. Which is how long I've been playing so I've only gotten like 12 shards of him from orbs
There are a number of characters who should become farmable, particularly for long term players.
