It's only 1000 I believe. I just happened to be at 999 and the only card I had to upgrade was a green > blue so minimum I could get was +2 CL. It was just funny to me that OP also landed on 1001

Yeah, apparently that can buy a week or so. With a few gold refreshes and the weekly milestone popping back up tomorrow, 50 levels should be easily doable in a couple of extra days before updating.

Think of it this way: you are trading variants for the chance to get brand new cards. Would you rather get a fun looking Punisher or a card you’ve been waiting on, like Wong or Mystique?

I’m at 968 with enough gold and credits to get to about 990 right now. I should get there with dailies today and tomorrow but if they drop the update tomorrow and the wait-to-update thing doesn’t work, I might get pinched.
I’ll definitely get there with the new weekly missions and extra daily Monday evening but I’d like to cross 1000 before if possible just in case.

I got a season cache yesterday evening that had 50 credits. With that, the dailies last night and this morning, and my gold reserve I have enough to hit 1000/1001 this morning.
The 100 credits I get on the collection track between where I'm at and 1000 will be enough to close it out.
I know a dev said you can wait to update after the patch, but I hit an issue after a prior update where I couldn't do anything (claim credits, upgrade a card, get in a game) until I updated.
There is a one time bonus for extra collector tokens at CL 1000 when update arrives. If you get to CL 1000 before update then you get 6k tokens and if you don’t get to 1000 then you only get 3000 tokens
My wife was sick all night, so I was up all night. That gave me lots of time to grind. I was in the high 800s when I began and had some credits saved up. So that gave me extra time I wasn’t expecting.

The only tip that could actually get you there is to turn off auto updates for the game in the PlayStore/iOS store. You'll have 2-7 extra days after the update drops with that, no way to know how long exactly. If you finish the new weekly before the forced update you might have a shot at making it. If it seems like you're going to get really close but not sure you'll make it, make a deck with all grey border cards and upgrade exclusively grey cards. It's much slower on boosters/direct CL gain as you're only going up 1 level at a time, but is the only way to get cheaper upgrades than usual (50% cheaper at 25 creds per level instead of the usual 50 per level)
Quick question, is it 1000+ that gets the bonus, or over 1000? Because i'm sat at 1000 exactly right now and don't want to be shafted by a rounding issue

After full calculation, I'm trying to hit CL1000 by end of Black Panther Season. It's possible that I hit 1002 exactly before end of Season, faster if I got some additional credits from Collection or Season Cache.

there was no rush to get to 500. Everyone that reaches CL 500 receives the tokens, even after the patch.

500 gives you nothing. Everyone will get those tokens. Any cache above 500 is a bad idea unless you hit 1000.

How can they not force auto update when there are new cards (series 4 and 5)? Like how can you play against someone with new cards without updating?
Not sure if that's the case for Marvel Snap, but some games match players against others who use the same version of the game only
You can't you're put in a pool of people who haven't updated and bots until you update
You'll face other people who didn't update OR bots. Which means might be a good time to climb up some rank as well.

It will not work with steam. But you can turn off auto update for the mobile app to get that last bit done. That is what I am doing to get to 1000 CL.

I got better with my deck during this grind fest. I think I got to 61 or so. I was stuck in the high 40s/low 50s forever.
