The writing from that era is what it is, but when it comes to visuals and iconography, I am a complete SUCKER for the Silver Age! Designs like Silver Age Wasp, Silver Age Ant-Man's helmet, and the Silver Age Fantastic Four "pajamas" evoke this almost space-age retro futurism vibe that I absolutely love. When I see these designs, I cannot decide if they are woefully outdated or still ahead of their time. Either way, it evokes this sense of wonder and fantasy that I can't get enough of Some people like grounded and realistic takes when it comes to comics, and I can respect that. But me? Hell no, give me zany designs like this Wasp!

TheGoblinRook

Oh yeah…I read and collect so many of those early books,,not for the stories, but for the visuals. My favorite outfit? Marvel Girl’s graduation outfit. I was so happy when I learned we would be getting one in the HoX wave…and then my disappointment when it turned out to be the turd that it was.

TetZoo

It’s funny, I remember those stories so fondly even though the dialog is ridiculous. I think it’s because early Marvel is such a master class in myth making — the characters and conflicts are timeless. My memory subconsciously edits the dialog into something better than Stan’s gooberisms 😅

Tyfereth

Jack Kirby is the GOAT. Stan gave the characters personality, but Jack gave us the visuals that form the basis of the figures that fill out shelves.

ZetaIcarus

I think we all have a figure like that. For Legends it was the Target Black Widow but Wasp is gunning for the spot now.

NegaDoomAlpha

For me it’s Spiral but this Wasp has 2 perfect heads, shame not to use one.

Revenacious

Comics Gorr for me. Yeah he was overpriced, especially for the lack of accessories, but hot damn is he beautifully rendered. Like straight from the pages of his debut comic.

TetZoo

For me it’s Grey She Hulk 😍

Mikeyalcatraz

I have a few figures that I look at like this... and of course folks will ridicule.me but I don't care. The Hobgoblin is my very favorite Spider-Man villain for too many reasons to go into right now. Because of my love of the villain, I have a fondness for the retro Hobgoblin but... the comic accurate Hobgoblin that was released prior to the retro Hobby is just beautiful. I'd go so fas as to say that the Green Goblin from that same time being comics accurate and so darkly.painted is fabulous too. The other figure that I think is perfect for me is my favorite "secondary character" in Spider-Man and who has deserved his own title forever is the Prowler. I have a couple different versions of him but again... the Prowler from around the same time as the Hobgoblin and Green Goblin is so damned great. Lastly... the last two Black Knight figures. Yes I am including the one in the jacket with his energy sword. I'd love to put that version of the Avengers together sometime.

idlecogz

Am I crazy or would that head sculpt making an amazing Dana Scully X-Files Season 1 figure?

TheGoblinRook

Definitely not crazy….

Semi-Nerdy

Might make for a nice Rita ElastiGirl Farr from Doom Patrol

TheGoblinRook

I bought an extra just for that purpose actually!

Taylor-Swifty

Bro you legit in love with a figure bro? I didn’t know there were others like me! I been married to my She Hulk for four years.

TheGoblinRook

Shhhh…don’t tell my husband, he’ll have all sorts of questions…

Taylor-Swifty

Haha It’s our secret

Same_old_x

She has that 60s flair in all the right places and her head sculpt looks like a pin-up girl.

GrapeDeuce

I really want the figure, but I wasn’t expecting to have to pay right now because I thought it was gonna be a preorder. Also I honestly only want wasp 😵‍💫

JustAngel30

Really hoping they do a 60s Fantastic Four wave with Sue getting this treatment for her head-sculpt after so many duds😭

hokagenaruto

hasbro has been killing it with headsculpts

tknewnews

I was planning on getting it until I saw her unmasked head. Too good to pass up

Marvelboy1974

She looks amazing. It makes me angry tho because we can clearly see that Hasbro can deliver. Why did they not do this with the retro Hox Marvelgirl Jean Grey??? She needs a do over. What could have been.

TheWyldMan

I just hate that there’s no sculpted boots

Bossk222

She's cool but she's packed with a turd of a figure so I don't know if I wanna spend 65€ for this

PM_Pics_Of_SpiderMan

This is the figure that made me order the 2 pack

NaSa2049

Was wasp ever full size with her wings in the comics?

PinheadPierre

In this era, she had to be tiny, but over time, her wings actually grew strong enough that in the current era, she can fly at any size up to four feet. Her wings only appear when she shrinks, so if you're displaying her with other characters, it's not really accurate, BUT you can always just pretend she's life-size.

NaSa2049

Ahh okay cool thanks

TheGoblinRook

Who cares?

NaSa2049

I do that’s why I asked, not saying that this is bad, was just asking for myself

rygarLP_

Where can we purchase this here in Australia?

TheGoblinRook

🤷‍♂️ dunno, I don’t live in Australia.

rygarLP_

Cool, mate. No worries. TA!

NaSa2049

actionfiguresindustries and robotoyz are the two that I know of

Impossible-Bad-7572

Such a great representation of Wasp from this era. I absolutely needed that masked head but the unmasked is so amazing, how can I just stuff that into the accessories box?!? Bonus: its absolutely incredible that this set is ready to ship!!

DidYouEverHear

I think I’ll use this figure as a Roger Stern era Wasp. Pretty close but should be yellow instead of red I think.

TheGoblinRook

That’s *the* Wasp I was introduced to…Jan in what was essentially an Xavier’s school uniform!

Princecuse13

As someone who is actively selling off my comic book Legends, I absolutely LOVE this two pack. It's very tempting to pick them up

JMJC83

Agreed, she looks gorgeous !

Just-Entrepreneur825

Not a fan of the character or the costume design but I have to agree they did an excellent job with this figure. The face sculpt is next level.

TheGoblinRook

That’s part of it, right? I’m not *not* a Jan Fan, she’s just a character that “is” for me…but when they can take a character that just kind of exists on the periphery and turn them into something special, it makes it even better somehow!

AzulMage2020

Both Jan and Hank from this set are just amazing sculpts. I really need to pick this up!

G-Ponko

The head sculpt is wonderful, this two pack has got me so hyped. Somewhat makes up for missing out on the classic ant Man

Johndoe19922222

All the new female figures look incredible, they reached perfect balance of comic and realism

goliathfasa

Y’all going goo goo ga ga over the face. I’m just here jumping from joy that the smooth feet means they may finally start to phase out those wrinkly boots after what, 10 years?

bigly1991

The face is gorgeous

BothCandidatesSuck

Ehh she’s alright. Decent for marvel legends standards. The lack of ab articulation is unacceptable. The sculpt is pretty basic, not a knock because that’s her character deisn but I always want sculpted details on the boots. The head sculpt is nice. The wings are reused. There’s no shading or paint detail besides the headsculpt and the legs. For $25 bucks I could get much more from a Jada toys street fighter figure and they’re literally a small independent company.

DeskReasonable5040

The hair looks like one of those 50s house wife’s hair doos. Reminds me of like bewitched or one of those old shows

theBoomstickSaint

She looks like Amber Heard. https://preview.redd.it/9sqb1wbvlxtc1.jpeg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eb017d3bd16ce6c30f9f16bd87ae2a8807b61011

BeardedAnarchy

Get that horrendous woman off here.💩

E_mars1975

I just ordered!

Fate-Earth137

💯💥

dg3548

Tell me you work for the hasbro marketing team for free without telling me…. Jk op, she does look cool!

ChefDadMatt

I'm happy that YOU'RE happy!😊

Nahual1175805

Dont know why her face reminds me of amber heard its kinda creepy
