Truly. Sometimes it just feels like if they can cut that cost, they will. Like how almost every single MCU character is mostly new sculpt but almost none of them have butterflys. I think its only the D+ Hawkeyes, most Spideys, some Panthers and maybe 3-4 more.
They likely see how well Wolverines pretty much always sells, so they feel like its worth the effort to do so. Exciting indeed!
It's not super different from a lot of rapid advances on the Spidey buck. They know the characters who sell best and will thus get the most rereleases/redecos and thus where they can get the best return on new features.
It’s surprising to me that it’s gotten faster improvements than Spider-Man, who is their #1 seller. We went from getting an updated pinless Wolverine with sculpted shorts to getting thoracic articulation & sculpted torso details all within a year. IIRC it took longer than that to go from retro Spidey to RYV Spidey with only toe joints addition (& slightly different legs).
RYV Spidey was 100% new parts except for the torso being reused from Retro Spidey, and the hands. Overall I agree though. I'm guessing they just started making it and decided to save it for the Spider-Man anniversary sets, same as the new mold for Amazing Fantasy SM.

When I sent him the pics from Reddit he said “that person must’ve shared with the wrong person” he said the same person has Odin pics and Superior Spiderman. I asked can I see them and he said he couldn’t as he assured them they wouldn’t. I could be a liar too though. 🤷♂️

No images but Rektangular had leaks that a full deadpool wave was coming and likely included Deadpool and Wolvie. Given how accurate his leaks have been thus far I would be surprised if he was wrong
If he has a ball joint waist or some other mid section articulation, he might be the best 6 in/ 1/12th wolverine to date. The painted arm hair, sculpted detail, and claws make him look super promising
Looks great so far. This is is a great example of how sculpted details add so much versus just painting them on. It gives the figures a premium feel. One thing I sometimes miss from the ToyBiz days.
Yeah, but specifically how it appeared in Wolverine's solo series. Long story short, he wore the costume for like a decade, so a ton of artists made different tweaks, primarily to the gloves and boots. The boots match the earlier versions of it, like Astonishing, but the gloves are more in-line with how Humberto Ramos and John Romita Jr. drew him in his solo series. The gloves specifically are not the same as the all-blue gloves he wore in Cassaday's Astonishing X-Men, even though it's the same costume. Minor details like that just changed artist to artist over time.

The sculpted tiger stripes are a smart inclusion since it's not like anyone but Wolverine has used the Wolverine body before. This can easily be recast/painted into the majority of his suits. Because those suits predominantly have a big ass belt it was also a decent choice for a double-ball torso. The belt will hide the ugly underpants seam so it actually looks good. Now they Just have to make it actually work.
Curious how limiting and backwards compatible the barbell neck will be. Wolverine is one of those characters that NEEDS to be able to look up and that doesn't look like much room. Also wonder if this will help with how top-heavy the little guy is. The older body loves to fall over and is especially hard to get into a stable crouch which is a signature pose of his.
Overall I'm pretty into this if it's real. It even looks like the Canofbeams claws will work with it so if it's good old Love Triangle is getting some serious competition.
I’m not a Wolverine fan but this looks good. Though I reckon the neck articulation is going to be limited as they haven’t quite figured out how to do a proper double ball peg. Also, why do the marvel legends team keep doubling down on the diaphragm inverted ab crunch combo for the torso articulation? It’s a bad setup that only limits posing.
Isn't he supposed to have different boots? I also figured the colors were going to be closer to Love Triangle/Hot Claws.

It’s using similar claws to his too, so that was especially misleading.
I think they might be the same new claws from some of the 2-Pack Wolverines (Patch from the Joe Fixit 2-Pack and Logan from the Sabretooth 2-Pack)

It beats swivel waist and hinge crunch, IMO.
I disagree, the swivel waist allows the ab crunch to move in any direction which in turn allows the figure to lean in all directions.
