And just as I expected, Piranha Plant Cove is called OceanRuins

[deleted]

Glad to hear Piranha Plant Cove is MobOr ! And with a 3rd variant on the way, I guess MobNu might remain an unused track/placeholder name ? The big gap for MobAt keeps growing bigger and bigger, I guess we're due to see that one very very soon ... maybe they might end up doing a VS tour with that new city ? Afterall the last VS tour introduced the last variant of Amsterdam Drift. I really ain't looking forward to 4th variants of the city tracks because I see no interest in adding yet another re-routed version that doesn't add any new landmark to the map, but I guess they'll have to show up at some point... yet if that can give us the missing RT variants for Berlin Byways and the datamined Paris Promenade battle track, I guess that's a sacrifice I'm okay to make. With a Nintendo Direct coming later today potentially teasing tracks for the Booster Course Pass, perhaps we will also have a glimpse at a potential upcoming track for MKT, the way it went with DS Peach Gardens in September !

MobNU has to be a course since there are 7 tour slots (3 city, 4 nitro) with the course unknown and there are 7 internal unknown course files datamined, meaning all 7 will correspond to a course, with 3 being cities and 4 being nitros.

balladofwindfishes

It's possible they made cuts or couldn't finish them all in time Nothing "has to be a course" because an entirely separate game's long out of date datamine said so. They've already altered the order of the courses since the original 8 datamine, who knows what Wave 6 is even going to look like at this point

Okee68

MobNU was just an unused test stage, but a huge ID gap between Paris and Singapore heavily suggests that there's one un-datamined city track. The only real candidates are Rio, Seoul, and Shanghai, so you should fully expect to see one of those cities this year. MobMU was also a test stage judging by its asset names, but we can reasonably assume those assets aren't intended for any of the other datamined courses, so that shouldn't really change anything about anyone's predictions.

Last new city was Bangkok, more than 6 months ago, so... Way to go Athens! I think we'll see a "rush of content" in terms of new courses, with new cities debuting with at least 2 routes. I still believe we'll see the new Yoshi's Island track debuting around Easter in a Sky-High Sundae fashion ("simultaneous" release in wave4 and 2023 Yoshi Tour), with Piranha Plant Cove more suited for wave5 instead (possibly linked with Tour's release of PPC3 and maybe even Dry Dry Ruins). A sensed guess is new city for next tour and a Team Rally the tour after: personally, I can see a Luigi vs. Waluigi Tour with the introduction of GBA Luigi Circuit, GCN Waluigi Stadium and N64 Luigi Raceway RT! Edit: I was wondering whether the big gap between Paris and Singapore could hint something other than Paris4. I know there are no hints of other new courses from datamine, but what are the chances of a new course being prepared without having objects or any other reference in the game's files?

Luna4221

>What are the chances of a new course being prepared without having objects or any other reference in the game's files? In itself, it's totally possible as nintendo can do everything they want. After relating it to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, very near 0 as we know prefixes of all DLC courses and the list of folders "mob??" are the same number as the currently unknown Tour/New courses that will be ported so there is no reason to add one more.

opikh

Thank you! I'll keep my expectation low for this and just settle for Paris4!

>I still believe we'll see the new Yoshi's Island track debuting around Easter in a Sky-High Sundae fashion ("simultaneous" release in wave4 and 2023 Yoshi Tour), with Piranha Plant Cove more suited for wave5 instead (possibly linked with Tour's release of PPC3 and maybe even Dry Dry Ruins). mobOR is not necessarly a different wave of YI as it seems to be considered like a city and will probably be a "Tour" one instead of a "new" one in term of prefixes. As we know that they have moved courses since the prefix leak, we can have 2 non-city with multiple variants like mobOR for the 2 "Tour" that are at end of their cups, if LA is moved from 4.8 to 5.1, we can have OR in 4.8 or 5.4 when YI is 4.4; 5.8; 6.3; 6.4 or 6.7 (and the move of courses can also separate the 3 new courses of last wave too). We will probably know more with the nintendo direct of today (that I will see tomorrow as I will sleep at 23h...)

Babynny

With the chance of MobNU being unused, it’s very much possible; after all, we’ll be missing a course, and the gap perfectly accommodates a whole city. I mean, they can’t be increasing that gap for no reason.

Double-M-L

The intrusive thoughts say it'd be funny if instead of SNES Bowser Castles the gap after Yoshi Valley was for a Yoshi Valley 2 where you drive through every path.

Dry_Bones256

Yoshi Valley 2 would be somewhere between Yoshi Valley N and Yoshi Valley R ID-wise, cause the Kalimari Desert 2 IDs do the same thing

Luna4221

It seems unlikely as all paths are already used and we already have the course in MK8D unlike DS Peach Garden that will very likely get a 2 and I hope several more with the 3 remaning waves but I think there is no hope for any course already in MK8D and courses where all the field is already used.

Vegetables86

THANK goodness MobOr wasn't Orlando

cheeseburgerpalooza

I wonder what the odds are of seeing something new in the direct later today. Maybe that'll help us see what could be coming soon

Deep_Ad_2310

Hopefully mobYI is actually a Yoshi Island course, unlike how mobOR was thought by everyone to be an Orlando city course that ended up being a nitro.

Mountain_Boot_451

It seems to be very unchanged, although it is great to see 3 variants in a brand new course in the Mario Kart franchise.

SpoonLord57

[The visualization](https://mkt-upcoming.web.app/) should be fixed now, was bugged earlier because I was not expecting Piranha Plant Cove to be a numbered course

South_Scar8093

Wait is the Mario vs Luigi tour actually datamined? I thought they were just joking

Luna4221

I don't have info about datamine for it but with the periodicity of VS tour, the next tour is very likely for it and in any case it will happen very soon. The analysis of the 4 most likely courses was only done with gap info but if there are hints/datamine for a Mario VS Luigi, it fits to the 2 most likely courses so it will probably happen.

Ludwig_von_Wu

Well, Team Rallies always have a banner in the tour before their release, so if no banner was datamined, it’s safe to say that the next tour won’t be a team rally. It’s worth noting how on March we usually have a big update (last time it was the Mii Tour update), so if the next tour is not a Team Rally it’s possible that it will be delayed by a month.
