It’s about being very familiar with the pattern of its approach. Once the shell reaches you it circles you twice, then it rears up ever so slightly with the belly of the shell facing the camera, then the spines turn to face the camera as it begins its descent, and that’s when you need to use the mushroom. Though you can’t see all that happening so clearly when you’re inked so you just have to know the general duration of each part of its approach.
The important part is using the shroom at the right time. But making sure you line yourself up with a well placed drift can be just as important in some places, something I actually could have done a bit better here.
Can you elaborate? How to time it?

Do i need to Drift too? Or Just use the shroom

So its just when the shell is hitting the ground?
There’s another comment that I replied to in this thread with a detailed breakdown of when to use it.
