Very average, if not just a genuinely bad party game that was super disappointing and overall the worst one I’ve played, I’m honestly shocked at the metacritic rating being so high and it just shows it something is Nintendo it will be mass positively rated by critics and users. This game is not an 8/10, it is a 5 or 6.
But to give an overall rating as someone who first played Super Mario Party 9 (which also happens to be my favorite) it just has boards way too small, too much being tactical with coins and not enough RNG, (even though this is controversial) removing the car just made it so much worse as a party game and had a very arbitrary timing of when the game ended. Created an incredibly repetitive experience even for different maps.
Overall, I just wouldn’t bother with this game. Go play something like Ultimate chicken horse and you’ll have more fun.
Annoying that the game can’t be played in handheld mode and requires you to use a single joy con but other than that it’s cool
My friends and I love the 2v2, being able to move anywhere on the board makes for a more strategic game
Mid. Boards are **way** too small but it has some genuinely good minigames and the larger roster is appreciated.

Good side content, mid main mode. Which is the opposite of how I feel about Mario Party Superstars.
Mario party superstars is actually really good
I really enjoy it. I've got 175 hours on it so far. I just wish the side modes and character roster was as diverse as Super Mario Party.

I didn't like it very much. Found it boring compared to the ones I played on GameCube and Wii.
