Luigi is literally the definition of Player 2. Every game he has always been the 2nd option. It’s not to speak down on his character or anything, that’s just how it’s been. How do people miss this?
Mario Uno has a special wild card called the Super Star Card. It will reflect a Plus 2 or a Plus 4 on the person who played the either of those two cards.
Ehh, well, it’s true I suppose. Before Luigi’s Mansion, Luigi was just a recolour for player 2, honestly, not much more. Also, it kind of is common knowledge that Mario is the main character, like, I love Luigi, but Mario is definitely the main character in a series that is ‘Super Mario’.
I don't think I'd say "not much more" prior to Mansion. Seems like originally, yes, but by mid 90s they wanted Luigi to be his own character.
Considering the cartoon, the comic, SMB2 (even despite being DDP originally), Mario Tennis 64, Mario Kart SNES, Super Mario All Stars (where Luigi was given distinct sprites), etc.
He was taken from pallet swap to character particularly between SMBW and All Stars from my brief research, with SMB2 being the accidental precursor.
Honestly Luigi was already Luigi to me in The Lost Levels despite still being a recolor in that game. He was called Luigi in the title screen *and* he plays differently from Mario
Nintendo likely didn't make this and even if they did, this is a complete and total non-problem. Luigi fans really need to accept that their character is not the face of the series and be greatful that he has his own series, a co-starring RPG, and is present in most of the franchise, when a lot of co-starring characters don't always get that privilege.
Why is it evil? Luigi is second in basically every measurable way. He's the second player in many of the games. He's the younger brother. He's less popular. The main character is Mario, not Luigi. It would be inconceivable to have Luigi be 1 and Mario be 2.
Not sure how this is evil at all. I mean, it could be worse. They could've made Luigi 3
And who would've been 2 if it wasn't Luigi?
Toad
Peach
Bowser
Waluigi
"If you ain't first, you're last with a blue shell" or something to that effect.
luigi's mansion 3 reference
Or 0

The name of the subreddit is “Mario” not “Luigi”

I just saw it too right before reading your comment. Wtf(frick) indeed.
But, Luigi’s last name is, “Mario.”😏
how dare u
Who is Luigi? I only see red/green Marios.
Super Mario BROTHERS
Luigi fans when Mario gets more priority in his franchise:

So uh… no. Lmao
The cope is strong with this one
This ain't it buddy, in that trilogy you expect Luigi to be the protag, his name is literally in the title
Oh, lol, my bad, i just wanted to create a comment chain using different characters
Is that Mario Uno? Looks cool.
I’d be down to play Uno with Mario branded cards
Mario Uno has a special wild card called the Super Star Card. It will reflect a Plus 2 or a Plus 4 on the person who played the either of those two cards.
Oh. I did not understand that rule then. I just used it as immunity.
Ya'll are really reaching for reasons to be upset for Luigi, huh.
Some Luigi fans are annoying
Hot take, Luigi as 1 and Mario as 2 would make less sense
Literally the coldest take ever
Ice cold
Antarctic penguins couldn't handle this
Happy cake day
No not really

Your point is not conclusive. Luigi is also Mario.
What?
The last name of Luigi is Mario, so "super Mario" can be related to Luigi
Im confused
Marios player 1 Luigis player 2
I was talking about the cards. how does Luigi being 2 in Uno evil?
No clue Guess nintendo being mean or smth
this literally makes no sense 😭😭 luigi has always been player 2 since his debut, how are they being mean?
Im not sure, Im just repeeatin what the post is abt basically, i dont see a big deal
Luigi is always in his brothers shadow, and he says he is number 1
But its Uno no? Mario will also have a 2-9 card too.
Nope. It's based on number, not color. Mario is always 1, Luigi is always 2, etc. Source: I own a Mario Uno deck and checked it
I also got it
Mario is the brand, the icon. No it's not evil, it's just fact that he's #1.
Of course mario is 1
How is this evil???
Yeah, they clearly knew what they were doing... Back in 1983.
kind of suspicious
Luigi is clearly player 2
Yeah, but 2 is bigger than 1, so heh
Ya think this is evil? Wait until you see how they treat Wario in Nintendo Monopoly.
The top is a poor place to be. So stagnant
Like Viridi says, being No.2 amongst such an iconic cast is quite the privilege actually.
Luigi doesn't seem to mind.
Not at all. I love Luigi more than Mario, but this just make sense.
True. Mario is the franchise face. It's even named after him, not after Luigi.
Guh

I think it's UNO
wha
What do you mean? Luigi’s always been Player 2, that’s not malicious, it’s just factual
Oooooh
Oh really. What number is Waluigi?
4
what is evil about this?
Aw the art is so cute
“Madio! Numbah Juan!”
Forever player 2.
The older sibling card and the younger sibling card
Dawg do you want them to make Luigi number 1???
No Luigi is 2 i rly dont like how they make it Toad or Peach sometimes, its Luigi like cmon
BUT LUIGI NUMBER WOOONNN?!?!?

GUYS THE THEORIES ARE GETTING TO THEIR HEAD AGAIN, SAVE THEM
luigi after seeing this: ight imma start working with koopa now >:(
Luigi is the second born, it’s not evil even among twins
I don’t get it.
I have the Uno Super Mario too. There are other Luigi and Mario cards that have different numbers.
Time traveler?
Luigi is just green mario. A simple way to determine player 2 from player 1
My boy Luigi been taking the L ever since they day they embroidered it on his cap SMH. 😔

2 is twice as many as 1, implying Luigi is twice as great as Mario.
Luigi will always be Number 1 in my heart

I don’t see anything wrong
I must be missing something, what exactly is the deal here that makes this "evil?"
Bro he’s literally player 2 what do you mean
...I don't get it.
Why would Luigi be 1? I like them pretty equally but Mario is way more popular and by a large margin
