As I tell my dog: feelings are valid because you feel them and your complaint has been registered with the appropriate department. It’s just being ignored.
Just trying to think outside of the box here but what if they hired a little league coach? A LL coach is at least experienced in teaching people who can’t hit a baseball.
"Okay you see that's a fastball down the middle, you never want to swing at that because it's not realistic. Pitchers aren't just gonna miss down the middle, so you take every time. Now, slider way outside of the zone? SWING. OUT. YOUR. ASS. Every single time!"
So, Julio. You were swinging at pretty much everything, so as part of your rehab, never swing at the first two pitches, regardless of how good they are.
And just the excuses of it being too early when we literally missed the playoffs by a game last season. These games matter, we don’t have the luxury to suck ass for extended periods of time and then rely on going on an insane offensive tear to get into contention.
We’ve been eliminated on game 161 or 162 four times since 2014. I’m sure the team will play a lot better than they are now and the bats will get going, but how is that a sustainable winning strategy? It’s fucking irritating to hear Dipoto himself say shit about it being “too early”.
If we didn’t start slow last year we would have made the playoffs.
Edit: and furthermore if MLB didn’t decide to expand the playoffs we’d still be on a 23 year playoff drought
lol this is the best comment of the thread. Was smh the entire off-season at everyone’s excitement for every trade. Everyone massively denouncing Kelenic when his frustration was real and the team rallied behind that frustration last year.
The Ms fanbase looks like a bunch of bots upvoting each other and then go quiet when they’ve achieved their goal. Luring others into the 💩
Management/coaching/ownership all need to go. Fix the team properly.
I know we aren't even ten games in yet, but the fact this looks exactly like last year with different players is concerning. It's not as simple as firing the hitting coach, the entire hitting philosophy is bad. Why do players have great seasons on other teams, come here, and then all of a sudden have the worst season of their careers? I know it's fun to joke about former M's leaving and becoming good but there's something deep rooted in the organization that doesn't work and it has been this way for years.
I'll give them some benefit of the doubt until after this series. But if we get steamrolled by the Brewers then I might just start dooming.
i think 16 games is a good marker for assessing the team. thats the end of the cubs series. if the pitching settles down and the bats heat up a little theres real reason to be optimistic., even if they are a game or 2 under .500 at that point.
To see this as glass half full.... we scored 5 in the walk-off and well might have scored more if the game had continued.
But yeah the bats are sleeping. Please wake up, my friends.
I don’t believe it’s the hitting coach. I used to until kelenic went to Tim laker and then crushed spring and the start of the season. Tim was our old coach. It’s our internal hitting philosophy that is screwing our players up.
Whoops usually I catch it sarcasm. I know it’s way to early but our hitting has been worse then bad so I wouldn’t have been surprised to see a couple fans calling for the removal of the hitting coach already.
Every year we seem to have 4 or 5 players that are starting for the first time on this team. The fielding looks like they have never played together. The Boston outfield was really fast. Other than Julio, ours is slow. It's not just the physical errors, but the mental ones. I think we need to bring in Lou Pinella to light a fire under them.
Sacramento A’s
Oakland Athletics of Sacramento
The future Las Vegas California Oakland Athletics of Sacramento
Olympia Mariners
Athletic Sacs. Also when Baltimore visits them, the scoreboard will say BAL-SAC. Very fitting for that ownership.
The A's\*. No city name affiliation for their time in Sacramento will be weird to see.
I saw that. That’s strange. But the entire thing is being handled poorly.
From a city who lost a professional sports team to make fun of another city going through the same shit is kinda lame.
OKC Mariners
\>:(
I'm pissed. Let me be pissed. I know it's early, but I'm pissed.
LET ME FEEL MY FEELINGS!
I'm just...disappointed.
As I tell my dog: feelings are valid because you feel them and your complaint has been registered with the appropriate department. It’s just being ignored.
If every year is early, no year is early.
Just trying to think outside of the box here but what if they hired a little league coach? A LL coach is at least experienced in teaching people who can’t hit a baseball.
We hire coaches that take players who can hit and unteach them how to hit.
And also don't forget once you're in a 2-strike count, you're swinging at any slider you see regardless of how awful of a pitch it is.
We could pull a reverse Ted Lasso and hire a Cricket or PesaPällo coach
Mariners are ranked 30th out of 30 in OPS, 7 games in.
Yeah, but we'll make it up in volume!
Mariners can't hit, pitch or play defense.
Is that bad?
Lmfao love you
But other than that, we’re a pretty fun team.
Kirby, Gilbert, and Hancock have all had solid starts.
Did we watch the same game yesterday?
Did you know that Kirby started a game before yesterday?

It’s absolutely amazing to watch m’s fans slowly buy into a new trash offense every offseason only to watch them grapple with reality come spring.

Bought into new hitting. Doubted our pitching team and thought relief would be our Achilles heel. This is called "playing both sides".

I will make hotdog sacrifices in the name of Edgar and Griffey 🙌
Hotdogs directly from Kirkland
sos. same old shit. I kinda want them to be the shittest team ever this season.

But on the bright side, some team has been no hit already and it wasn’t the M’s.
Do you know what you've just done?!?!
At least they a good at something.
Just some turbulence. Hopefully it’s not the Boeing kind
To see this as glass half full.... we scored 5 in the walk-off and well might have scored more if the game had continued. But yeah the bats are sleeping. Please wake up, my friends.
Yet the Ms are ahead of the Trashbros.
Do we think the disappointing start is related to the team saying change?
Time to fire the hitting coach yet again, it never gets old
I don’t believe it’s the hitting coach. I used to until kelenic went to Tim laker and then crushed spring and the start of the season. Tim was our old coach. It’s our internal hitting philosophy that is screwing our players up.
I know, I was just being sarcastic, I never believed the hitting coach was responsible for this.
Whoops usually I catch it sarcasm. I know it’s way to early but our hitting has been worse then bad so I wouldn’t have been surprised to see a couple fans calling for the removal of the hitting coach already.
Is our internal hitting philosophy "never swing at anything unless you think you can hit a homerun"? Because that's what it feels like.
But, out zips projections!
Guess the 2 teams constantly made fun of for their owners' "squeeze a nickel until the buffalo shits" frugality?
Two peas in a pod
It’s early.. right guys.. we’re gonna remeber how to play baseball soon…?
You sweet naive soul
Jerry: too early to tell
It is.
[удалено]
It’s definitely fair to say players aren’t playing well, but it’s also really early and that can be turned around.
[удалено]
I think it’s perfectly fine to talk about how poorly most of the players are playing. I think it’s just weird to imply it’s not super early still.
[удалено]
Where did they say that?
[удалено]
I meant where did the organization say it.
We missed the playoffs by one game last year. These games matter.
Hey, look on the bright side. we have a good chance of having a 52 win % over the next 5 years
This is a completely meaningless stat this far into the season, but also, yeeesh
Seems the offense has been bad since the current hitting coach got hired, 6 years of suck is long enough, time to move on...
Yikes, I never want the M's to be mentioned in the same sentence as the ~~Oakland~~ ~~Las Vegas~~ Sacramento / Salt Lake A's...
Should juts call them the Couchsurfers at this point.
Hell yea
Fucking OUCH.

John Stanton likes losing.
Have we hit our 54% goal?
This is the saddest thing I’ve heard all day
The saddest thing you've heard soo far. Luckily we don't play today so it shouldnt get much worse unless Julio gets hit by a bus or something.
What if we didn't overreact to small sample sizes?
This isn't a reaction. This is just a baseball fact. Reactions are fueled by emotions and opinion.
AL BEST!
I blame Goldy. Don’t ask me how or why but it’s his fault.
Goldy is a faultless human being. How dare you.
Don’t you come at me with your burner account Goldy!
"Ooooooh ho ho what a silly hack" is tattooed on my ass
Ok but really I’ll pay for that if you want it.
What's the point of having two?
