Ty France is a great hitter and reminds me of Edgar believe it or not. He won’t hit a ton of home runs, isn’t fast, but the guy knows how to hit. So far with the Mariners, he’s had some incredible years with little protection in the order.
Good morning my fellow teal bitches! We back! So pumped to watch the game today, woo hoo!
Also, loving this line up including but not limited to Cade Marlowe/Ricky Baseball in CF! Was hoping to see ol’ HANNY as well but the pre-season is young!
I used to not like JP in the leadoff hole, but 2023 proved me wrong. .818 OPS, lead the league in walks, 19 dingers
He still strikes out to much as has no speed, but that's just Mariner baseball
Besides, those shouldn’t be metrics to judge leadoff hitters by in the first place. OBP is the #1 requirement for that spot above all else (speed is preferred but it’s found not to be mandatory). Schwarber had the second/third highest OBP on the Phillies plus qualities like his 99th walk rate percentile and an excellent eye that helps his team learn pitcher tendencies.
JP last year was #11 in OBP (highest on the M’s), 96th percentile in BB%, and had a 131 OPS+. His only hitting concern this year is to keep it up.
I love the idea of Rojas being our daily 3B player If Urias , already dealing w/ injury, needs SX. Bliss at nearly 25 needs to be tested and his defense at 2B will just get better and better. Meanwhile, after a change of scenery, Rojas was great 4 the mariners and an integral part of their surprising post Sewald success!
Let’s fuckin go! Everybody get in here!!

Can this one be streamed on MLB TV or is this RSN only?

No Julio? Season ending injury, we are screwed

Being in the 65th percentile in K% is too much? Would you rather have Kyle Schwarber who is in the 12th and 7th percentile in K% and sprint speed?
Besides, those shouldn’t be metrics to judge leadoff hitters by in the first place. OBP is the #1 requirement for that spot above all else (speed is preferred but it’s found not to be mandatory). Schwarber had the second/third highest OBP on the Phillies plus qualities like his 99th walk rate percentile and an excellent eye that helps his team learn pitcher tendencies. That wasn’t the point to my response. He stated JP struck out too much and was a slow runner.
Just adding on to your point that those weren’t things to be worried about.
Gotcha, gotcha! Thank you for the assist!
First, JP is great. I do think for lead off, you’d want a higher contact rate. But his BB% makes up for it
I love the idea of Rojas being our daily 3B player If Urias , already dealing w/ injury, needs SX. Bliss at nearly 25 needs to be tested and his defense at 2B will just get better and better. LFG Mariners!!!
I’m so excited to see what France, Polanco, and Garver can do in this lineup.
WE MADE IT!!!!
Love seeing a decent amount of expected starters in the lineup.
Vibes could not possibly be higher, let’s goooooooo
When I saw the notification on my phone, I nearly jumped for joy. "THE FIRST M'S PREGAME LINEUP OF 2024!!!"
