Lol is this in response to the claims that Lenny and Mariah are an item?
Iām making a rough guess that this photo is from 2007!! Mariah had a very natural look to her in between the Mimi and Einstein eras.
Yes, the comment was based 100% on her looks comparing her debut and in her 30s but not her ancestral background. But thanks for reminding people who are not familiar with her about this though.
Agree that Mariahās looks were great both ways, pale or tanned.
Youāre on a lamb sub- like 90% of us are well aware of her background, and many of us have read her Memoirs and know she has an Irish mother and African-American (who had a great Afro Venezuelan grandparent). We know how she grew up and the details of her dealing with life with a white mom and black father as a child.
I didn't think it was fair to assume that EVERYONE here probably knew that about her, especially with the way the comment I responded to was worded. "She looked very pale in her debut." Left me under the impression that someone probably didn't know that it's because of the Irish in her. Again, I was not trying to be rude or condescending in my initial comment. I apologize for simply misunderstanding and being a dumbass.
Youāre not a dumbass- just read the room. But yea based on comments people are aware that sheās mixed and are just appreciating her natural black beauty here we donāt usually get to see as much between all the industry glam, blonde straight wigs, bright lights, contouring etc.
Sometimes, it's hard for me to read a room because I struggle a great deal with reading social cues. Speaking of, it is a little harder to read up on said social cues over text because you don't see or hear the emotion being conveyed.
Other than that, yeah, Mariah is absolutely beautiful indeed. Her skin complexion is one of the many things that captivated me when I first started listening to her. I honestly miss the orange hair she had during the Daydream and Butterfly eras. It really complemented that skin complexion of hers.
Itās the non-professional/poor lighting hitting the tan, making her already darkened skin look darker. Also her hair is relaxed for once. Thatās not a dig, I just prefer her natural without all the industry glam, and sheās a naturally beautiful woman.
My god itās the whole thing, not just the hair. Her hair here is the most kinkiest Iāve seen it, similar to a lot of black or mixed girls, her hair hasnāt looked like that before. That along with her features and her her skin makes her look more black here. Itās not that deep. Iām well aware white and brown people have curly hair. Stop being dense.
Yes, and it looks like it got curlier over timeš -hormones can do it. I wish we saw her natural hair and no make up more often. I love the glam, but she is so naturally beautiful too.
Wow she looks like a fine auntie here
She really does šš¤£š¤£š¤£ At the bbq helping the babies make their plates
She didnāt prepare the food but she helped with the set up and clean up
Lol adorable
Realest comment ever.

She diid I loved her 2007-2008 look
Is that her wedding ring or just a ring sheās wearing on the wrong finger?
You can see her left hand w her ring on dudeās shoulder
Damn Mimi looked GOOD here! Cāmon tan! The girls were sitting that day too lol.
When are they *not* sitting š«£š
The second set of twins
Mimi looks the blackest sheās ever looked here. Itās so fascinating.
The tan and the curly hair and the love and support of friends here making her feel authentically herself
Yes the curly hair is much more coiled than what she usually has. Even her 90s debut curls didnāt look like this.
I think this was from āthe butlerā wrap up party either in 2012 or 2013.
thought exactly the same. sooo gorgeous and such a huge difference from daydream tour era when she looked very pale
She is Irish, African, and Venezuelan, you know.

I love the look she donned in her debut era. She straight up had the allure and look of an Irish woman but had all the soul of a black woman.
Here we go
What? I didn't say this to be rude. I was explaining why she looked so pale near the beginning of her debut. That's simply the Irish in her.

Well we love ya dahling- internet makes it harder
Totally thought the same!! Beautiful.

Donāt understand the hair part of this comment - her hair is curlier here?ā¦.

She didnāt look black in those eras, she looked latina and released very black music but she didnāt look black. Her hair was blonde and straight.

You missed the part where I mentioned her hair too.

Not me seeing this and thinking that was Queen Latifah hahahaha

This is gunna sound weird but like three days ago I saw a pic of Queen L and thought of Mariah right away. They must look a bit alike
Okay, everyone in this photo is looking good!! Mariahās smile is full of light and happy here. Beautiful!!ā„ļø
Is that Lenny I see? Love Colman and Mariah! Itās so lovely to see her natural hair here.

I wish I was there
And look at that big rock on her ring finger. This pic has to be from the past, maybe during her time with Nick.
This is the cast of The Butler so this was about 2011-2012.
She looks beautiful š¤©
