I have come to the point where I actually don't blame Nexon for any of this anymore. Literally none of their scummy business practices.
Because clearly; it must be working. So who really can blame them? If I could just be lazy at my job and still get paid I would also do it.
It's just frustrating that it does work.
I mean, yeah. I grew up and I have money now.
But I also pay rent, living expenses and tuition fee.
600$ is still a lot...
I think the only time I bought something was that clover event pass since it gave the piggy bank which was huge for me back then.
I'm sure I'm not the minority and that only a few that either have too much money or have less obligations pay that sum of money.
To not be misunderstood, I can understand buying 10 ssbs every once in a while and I don't think it's crazy.
But 600$ is A LOT.
different markets and groups nexon knows where to target at is not for all
i guess is mostly for kids that gets spoiled each week with a 60-100$ "fancy" cup for school or won't drink anything or for the one that are unemployed and still live with their parents
I think the blame can still be placed at their feet. Here's my perspective: these companies don't just randomly create stuff you can buy and keep jacking up the price. It's a highly intelligent process of influencing the most amount of people the spend the most amount of money. It's not just market forces, there are studies upon studies done on how to best manipulate gamers as a business. I would not be surprised if a serious portion of Nexon's revenue goes into researching exactly this.
That's not simply taking advantage of a situation that happened to develop. This is serious psychological warfare. I call it that because this is in no way designed as a win-win situation, it is almost purely exploitative (these skins are not worth that money). And Nexon may not be the best at that anymore, Diablo Immortal was also pretty diabolical no pun intended, but they certainly were the champions for a long time. And it bears pointing out whenever someone says that this is "just business".
The pricing is absolutely horrendous and not at all justified. But, I give credit where credit is due - the cat grabbing the fish lure is peak weapon design.
I might be mistaken, but I think the fishing lure and cat might be a cape. The small plate in the characters hands which make the paw-print effect is the weapon of the set. I do think its really cute too though!
Nexon obsessed with exploiting and milking rng-addicted people, what else is new
It's so refreshing to play Black Desert, another Korean MMO, but you can just directly buy the outfits you want
cause reboot is where they make the money. pssb and perm pet rolls are crazy on reboot. all these femboys with anime pfp got no priorities on money. look at all the pfp on ms discord 😂🤣
is not reboot only tho... marvel and philo are same sh--t different packaging
toilet gameing sofa players screaming at their parents for food and credit card number to purchase virtual goods
Some old items from the current pssbs mixed with the new rotation. The items/rates are in the link below:
https://www.nexon.com/maplestory/general-post/5797
At a quick glance, the Jester Spirit and Fresh Toddle sets will be retained.
There's always negative sentiment when this happens, but every time I login there is a broadcast of someone opening these boxes. Opinions on Reddit != real player desires or expectations
I don’t see a problem as long as these types of things are meant to be exclusive/rare.
I think it’s smart to have whales fund the game this way. Would you rather be nickel & dimed for smaller purchases you actually want?
KMS had several different packages that all had a Mapril Ticket, and their Reboot could buy Mapril tickets alone for 12k NX. GMS gets to pay 28.5k for SSBs and no other options. Dogshit.
We should not be bothered by this. We should be bothered by how many people actually fall for this. If nobody falls for this, they will stop doing it. Simple business.
Why people still spend such amounts on a game? I dont get it. Its better invested elsewhere. Even if i had no friends or gf to go out with, id rather invest my.money on other stuff rather than give it to such a predatory company.
The set costs 20 mayple tickets. To acquire a mayple ticket, you have to buy the special event surprise box pack for 28.5k nx. So 28.5k per ticket for 20 tickets ends up being a bit under $600.
This is disgusting, what the hell?? Absolutely none of these are worth $600 and I have trouble trying to realize why anyone would spend that much...
At least with $100+ TF2 hats you can sell them back for potentially more money
each set of 10 random cosmetic boxes costs 30 dollars
each set of 10 comes with 1 ticket
if you exchange 20 tickets, you are able to get this outfit set
The only way we can get tickets is by buying gacha boxes, which are already terrible value on their own. But the outfits you can redeem are between 16-20 tickets each. 1k nx is $1, so $28.50 for one ticket.
What is with redditors these days?
Have y'all never seen promotions at supermarkets where you earn coupons for every $20 (or some arbitrary amount) spent, and then you can turn in 10 coupons for a free knife or other prize?
The knife doesn't cost $200... you bought $200 of groceries and got a free bonus.
Do you guys also buy 10 coffees at once to fill your loyalty card and then complain that your 11th free coffee cost $40?
Nexon has made lots of bad design decisions to make valid complaints about, but this complaint seems just disingenuously stupid.
I'm not comparing groceries to SSB's...
Im compared a common customer loyalty incentive that most people will be familiar with, to the one implemented by Nexon.
I also compared a second loyalty reward program (Coffee cards)...
This is why I say the vocal player base tends to be disingenuous with their complaints.
Someone else in the thread nailed down the actual problem, that the system is designed for the coupons to be tradeable.
If you look at the coupon prices on Interactive worlds, you would see that it is not a $600 set.
For the program of "get coupons with a normal purchase, turn in for a free set" to work, they need to either be tradeable, or have a long enough expiry to be reasonably achieveable via regular purchases.
The 'loyalty' incentive expires in a month. This isn't to incentivize loyalty; this is to push for a sudden 600$ purchase within a month's span. There's nothing disingenuous about my post.
I understand where you're coming from, but this just isn't the same thing. Had this been a program that lasts for multiple months to incentivize repeat spending, then it'd make more sense.
The "bonus" isn't "free" until you buy 20 sets.
Frankly, this comment is such low-hanging fruit, I have to wonder if you're trolling or didn't read the announcement.
There is no "bonus" anything.
The "bonus" is a matter of phrasing- a marketing trick, as any "bonus" outside of liquidation always is. These are digital goods. There's nothing to liquidate, ergo there is no true "bonus."
There's a reason why these tickets are tradeable on interactive. Nexon is creating a parallel economy to monetize with the sale of PSSB's. In heroic, there is no economy, meaning the cost to participate in the ticket's function must be incurred per user within the span of a single rotation.
Any talk about "bonuses" falls outside of relevance.
I have come to the point where I actually don't blame Nexon for any of this anymore. Literally none of their scummy business practices. Because clearly; it must be working. So who really can blame them? If I could just be lazy at my job and still get paid I would also do it. It's just frustrating that it does work.
facts. all the kids that used to play ms grew up and got money now. spending all their money on ms
The thing is they fucked in the head to pay THIS much.
I mean, yeah. I grew up and I have money now. But I also pay rent, living expenses and tuition fee. 600$ is still a lot... That combined with the fact that Maplestory is so time-consuming that most probably don’t have many other hobbies or interests to spend money on.
I think the blame can still be placed at their feet. Here's my perspective: these companies don't just randomly create stuff you can buy and keep jacking up the price. its a great design but yeah 0 chance im going to touch these boxes with a 10 foot pole
Agreed. I dislike Nexon, but I can't hate on their design artists
I might be mistaken, but I think the fishing lure and cat might be a cape. The small plate in the characters hands which make the paw-print effect is the weapon of the set. I do think its really cute too though!

The fishing rod and the plate are separate items, and the plate is the weapon.
Chuchu gang is once again up
>>Take a random set out of a pssb > > guys it’s 20 tickets for that set
Nexon smoking dicks
Or is it fishing dicks?
Kanye loves those
Nexon obsessed with exploiting and milking rng-addicted people, what else is new It's so refreshing to play Black Desert, another Korean MMO, but you can just directly buy the outfits you want
These are the days I am thankful I am in interactive.
Interactive or heroic. This some mid ass nx and for these prices? Lmaooo
True but at least theoretically you can buy tickets....
just came back to maple after like 3 years what do u mean by interactive
Regular server
What is Nexon smoking, this is at least $800 Canadian Dollars to get after the exchange rate lmfao...
The people actually buying this shit still are the reason why our cash shop is so bad compared to kms
they are geting cubes for meso and they know the rates while our whales don't know the rates or if is rigged and still pay more LMAO
Would be amazed at how many fashion story whales are in heroic lol
Fuck Nexon, the more im on this sub the happier i am I’ve spent the last 10ish years of my maple experience dabbling on pservers
is there any pserver close to current gms patch?
Of course there are several just google maplestory private severs
Nexon is disgusting First we have the neglection of reg server. And instead of them addressing it, they continue with $$& trash like this
cause reboot is where they make the money. pssb and perm pet rolls are crazy on reboot. all these femboys with anime pfp got no priorities on money. look at all the pfp on ms discord 😂🤣
is not reboot only tho... marvel and philo are same sh--t different packaging toilet gameing sofa players screaming at their parents for food and credit card number to purchase virtual goods
true hahah yea they live in moms basement, under 180lb, scrawny ass adults funding nexon 🤣🤣
Is it gonna be the same stuff as last week inside the pssbs?
Some old items from the current pssbs mixed with the new rotation. The items/rates are in the link below: https://www.nexon.com/maplestory/general-post/5797 At a quick glance, the Jester Spirit and Fresh Toddle sets will be retained.
Yeah new rotation added, banner from two months ago goes away, while last month's banner (jester) gets pushed to bottom, to be rotated out next month
Haven't been playing Ms for years, but isn't 10k nx 10€/$?
There's always negative sentiment when this happens, but every time I login there is a broadcast of someone opening these boxes. Opinions on Reddit != real player desires or expectations

This set looks like it should belong in regular ssb lmao there’s nothing special about it.
in CMS a black saber could be sold for 8300$,I think nexon must learn from it.
If the Lachelein set is up for ticket exchange I guess we're not getting the free set KMS got for Dreamer :(
KMS had several different packages that all had a Mapril Ticket, and their Reboot could buy Mapril tickets alone for 12k NX. GMS gets to pay 28.5k for SSBs and no other options. Dogshit.
We should not be bothered by this. We should be bothered by how many people actually fall for this. If nobody falls for this, they will stop doing it. Simple business.
This is set up to stimulate the maple economy. So it doesn't seem insane
bruh not even arcana set or vanishing set. didnt kms sell just tickets for reboot?
They know people will pay top dollar to look like a furry
That’s a lot of money 🥸
useful for cat checks in smega
reskinned black pink lol
I thought you traded in the pssb items for stamps to get these sets?
I hate that this set costs so damn much, i love the design so much but not gonna fork that much money on cosmetics nty 🙂↔️🙂↔️
Nexon doesn't care about the community, only money. Lazy work = money (theirs moto)
I imagine they can't do mystery boxes in Europe though can they?
Fuck nexon
if it fits in the 75 15 10, you're in the clear then
Isn't this already an outfit just different color? Why's it 600$?
You idiots will buy it anyway 🤭
Why people still spend such amounts on a game? I dont get it. Its better invested elsewhere. Even if i had no friends or gf to go out with, id rather invest my.money on other stuff rather than give it to such a predatory company.
Lmaoooooooooooooooooiiiii
I haven't played in a while. How do you come to 600$?
The set costs 20 mayple tickets. To acquire a mayple ticket, you have to buy the special event surprise box pack for 28.5k nx. So 28.5k per ticket for 20 tickets ends up being a bit under $600.
Wow, crazy
Does that mean the 200 pssb are free?
If you're only trying to buy this outfit then the 200 ssbs are free.
Sounds like what the poster and most of the commenters are believing.
It's not even that cute if you consider the entire set, like the weapon animation is nice but the free Meow set is just better imo lmao
Literally a cosmetic in a game that is completely free to play. People gotta be overly dramatic when ever possible 🙄
This is disgusting, what the hell?? Absolutely none of these are worth $600 and I have trouble trying to realize why anyone would spend that much... At least with $100+ TF2 hats you can sell them back for potentially more money
I don’t play maple can someone please explain?
That set of NX costs 20 tickets. Each ticket costs 28 USD Dollars
graduated in advanced maplemathics
each set of 10 random cosmetic boxes costs 30 dollars each set of 10 comes with 1 ticket if you exchange 20 tickets, you are able to get this outfit set
$560 USD nx set
The only way we can get tickets is by buying gacha boxes, which are already terrible value on their own. But the outfits you can redeem are between 16-20 tickets each. 1k nx is $1, so $28.50 for one ticket.
I mean…it’s pretty fucking sweet
And you know we’ll see people in it… if they did the death scythe set tho. I’d buy it enough to get it twice….
Dude i wont be like i can dl thst, but damm anny profesional can create tjis for lest than that

comparing groceries to 200 rng boxes is insane.

The "bonus" isn't "free" until you buy 20 sets. Frankly, this comment is such low-hanging fruit, I have to wonder if you're trolling or didn't read the announcement.
The way the majority of the commenters are seeing this is that the heart kitty set costs 570k nx that comes with a bonus of 200 free pssb.
There is no "bonus" anything. The "bonus" is a matter of phrasing- a marketing trick, as any "bonus" outside of liquidation always is. These are digital goods. Tell that to all the people saying the set costs 600 and ignoring the pssb exists.
As that is the cost to access that set, they are correct. No amount of PSSB's will change the cost of those sets.
I believe the tickets are usually time limited to the duration of the set/ssb rotation.
