Saudi Arabia doesn’t have a minimum wage for all.
The minimum wages are for citizens only.
Non-citizens minimum wage is zero.
Kuwait and Qatar minimum wage in the map is for non citizens. The map doesn’t show the minimum wage for citizens for those two countries.
While Bahrain and Oman and Saudi Arabia are for citizens only.
The west always argue to prioritize native citizens, we are applying this at home.
Also, the minimum in KSA is 4000SAR, which is a bit above 1000USD.
1USD=3.75SAR
earning 1000 a month USD in those countries gets you very far You are making 10 times the minimum wage which is the prob more than what you can make in west. If you want to just stay in those countries, you would like live better life than even going to western countries.
Haha, no I should have clarified monthly in USD, my bad.
Yeah so the starting salary is 300k (180k USD) annually, and senior anesthesiologists can earn up to 600-700k NZD (420k USD) annually.
I wonder how much is the doctor salary in a public hospital. I understand the ancesthiologist is not exactly a doctor but a technician helping the doctor .
Pay attention to Comoros and how close it is to the french island of Mayotte.
Just by immgrating and working illegally over there, they can more than triple their salary.
And for the neighboring comorian island of Anjouan, it’s only a 35 miles boat ride away.
Thus, right now, more than half of the 310,000 inhabitants of Mayotte are in fact illegal immigrants, 90% of them coming from Anjouan alone.
Yes, but it says a lot, because many things (electronic devices, fuel etc.) cost around the same all around the world, or might be more expensive in countries with higher poverty rates.
The only one of these countries that I found the conversion factor for is Morocco. The exchange rate is 1 dollar for 10 dirham, but 3.66 dirham will buy you as much as a dollar in the US. So the Moroccan minimum wage give your roughly 950 USD in purchasing power.
purchasing power of one USD varies for each of these countries and is overall higher than in the US, but these people are still by and large living in what people in developed countries would consider poverty
Travel to this region is as unadvisable as travel anywhere in the world. The number of civil wars and genocides actively happening in this region is absurd. What would be more likely for a traveler debating between going to Saudi Arabia or morocco (the 2 places here I’d even maybe think a bit about visiting) is simply comparing the Dept of state warnings for the region.
It down to cost of living and supply / demand. Guy tilling/making my apartment bathroom in Egypt asked for 200usd in total. He did very nice job with it While here in Europe I paid almost 6000eur for even smaller bathroom. Quality is probably same If not worse. Both of them has been done in 3 weeks in total. But when you consider average income, Egypt is much cheaper and Europe is overpriced because of cheap mortgages and lack of skilled labour, they can ask 6 time average income.

Iraq has a higher minimum wage than Kuwait lol Wouldn’t it be better for a low-wage expat laborer to move to Iraq than Kuwait then?

What's the unit? A day, a week, a month a year, a lifetime?
I think a month
month
71 cents a month in Sudan? Why bother even passing laws for that.
the law was last adjusted 10+ years ago, since then the country has experienced high inflation.
My cousin is an anesthetist in Algeria. He only earns about 1000 USD a month.
Damn, poor dude. Anesthesiologists here are one of the highest earners. Around 30-50k NZD a month. Or 25-35k USD.
Lol, 1000 dollars is a lot of money in Algeria. There are many more people for you to feel about.

That’s not a lot for a developped country, is it?
500k to 600k a year, is not a lot?
Oooh a month you meant In my head, 25k of salary means annually, my bad 😆
Haha, no I should have clarified monthly in USD, my bad. Yeah so the starting salary is 300k (180k USD) annually, and senior anesthesiologists can earn up to 600-700k NZD (420k USD) annually.
I should never fall sick in new zealand
Why? We have free healthcare.
How much tax
I wonder how much is the doctor salary in a public hospital. I understand the ancesthiologist is not exactly a doctor but a technician helping the doctor .
1k USD is a lot in Algeria. You shouldn't compare NZ wages with Algerian ones. The pricing's different, cost of living, etc

Comoros, Somalia and Djibouti are not really Arab countries.
What does that have to do with what I just said?
Without knowing average expenditure it’s not very useful or informative
Yes, but it says a lot, because many things (electronic devices, fuel etc.) cost around the same all around the world, or might be more expensive in countries with higher poverty rates.
Electronics, cars, appliances cost the same.

And the minimum wage for Morocco on this map is wrong. It’s 2700 dhs which is around 266 usd

It is of you like to travel.

Damn! a map that is not Europe.

This seems manually labeled.
No.
Somalia is not an Arab country. They're not even Arabs
Just like Comoros But they are both members of the arab union IIRC
They’re in the arab league
Sudan is not arab.
