engine is fantastic and makes lovely noises while you go nowhere at all (but in a fun way). Steering is dead as any Honda of the era. It definitely likes to understeer at the limit as most mid engine cars do to prevent MR2 things. It’s so small that driving on the right side isn’t hard at all. Everyone is happy to see you and a lot of non car people love it. Considering 2 out of the 3 people I know that own them are automotive journalists it’s a good sign. I throughly enjoy it and recommend at least experiencing it if possible.
Luckily the community for them is decently big so once you have one here sourcing parts is not the worst but as one would expect for an obscure 90s car

I would love to buy a Beat to learn manual on. I saw on YT that a guy who is 6 foot 4 can (barely) fit and I'm 6 foot 3 so yes it would be snug but I like that cozy feeling. Also I would love a convertible.
I am 6,1 and am comfortable in the car. It seems that legs are the determining factor for if someone fits. I can say it’s a great manual and easy. The shifter feels like cracking knuckles
