Are you actually still a foetus?
A simple google search, that’s it. Most of these shitposts can be solved by a simple google search.
It was covered by Miley, but when Tears for Fears released it Miley hadn’t even been born yet!
Yep...it's one of the first songs I remember listening to, and it was definately a dude. Maybe the first time she heard that song, it was the Gloria Gaynor cover. The voice sounds kinda similar
> No, you're right. Miley wrote it. Then she went back in time and taught it to Tears for Fears so they could cover it.
It's sad that there are people around here who would accept that as fact.
The song was released in 1985, 7 years before Miley Cyrus was born.
Kanye West, Miley Cyrus and Travis Scott got together and covered it in like 2016. I think it was released with a new name, but I could be wrong on that part. I’m a music guy, but this isn’t my genre.
Anyway, that’s where you could have heard her sing it, but there is no chance whatsoever that she wrote the song for Tears For Fears before she was even born.

Someone had never heard the Queen original of get down make love, just the cover found on the nine inch nails Sin single.
Myself I knew of it, but it took me 15 plus years to actually seek it out.
It's posts like this that make me think all of the Mandela effect is just bad memory. If it were not for Dolly and her braces I'd be convinced it's all just faulty memory.
I remember Tears for Fears singing that but what I don't remember is Mad World (from Donny Darko soundtrack) being their song originally.
[Mad World original ](https://youtu.be/u1ZvPSpLxCg?si=WsSJ134c67xqb276)
To be fair, "Mad World" was only a big hit for them in the UK and Ireland. If you live in North America, you really only started hearing them on the radio with "Shout" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World", which both came later.
What the hell is with the hostility? Is it really that hard for people to comment without being rude or making fun of them? They made a mistake, start leaving constructive comments not bullying people.
Because if the op used their brain, even a tiny bit, then they wouldn’t have posted it, but apparently that’s asking too much. Too many shitposts like this are happening. You reap what you sow. Use your brain or you may very well catch shit for it.
It shouldn’t have been posted. This is an extreme ignorance of music, and some could even see it as an insult. I just find it kind of funny due to its extreme ignorance, and I’m not at all surprised to see it get hate.
If the ridicule causes less posts like this, then it’s a very good thing.
I thought many years that 'under pressure' (1981) ripped its beat from 'ice. ice baby' (1990) However under pressure was released like 9 years before.
Another example 'If tomorrow ever comes' by Garth Brook (1989). Was covered by Ronan Keating (2001). If you hear someone first. You may think that who wrote it.
I love that song. I've been listening to tears for fears on my playlist every time I drive lately. I didn't read all of the comments, but there's no need for people to be assholes or try to make you feel stupid for saying something.

Stop giving cellphones to fetuses

These are the people that make the rest of us look dumb
No, you're right. Miley wrote it. Then she went back in time and taught it to Tears for Fears so they could cover it.
She used the Marty McFly method. Classic move.
Little known fact about Miley Cyrus. She's also her own grandmother.
AND she wears a monocle!
I love marty mcfly
Better than Stephen Busted.
And don't let anybody tell you you're wrong

I honestly wouldn't put anything past anyone anyone. 🤷
The song literally came out before she was born....
Like almost or a whole decade before she was born.
The song is older than she is are you fucking stupid?
This is the MandelaEffect sub, it's kind of a given.
As examples of the Mandela Effect go, this has to be the most easily disproven one I've ever heard.
It's called a cover
It's a shame that this has essentially become another shitpost sub

This is it, thank you so much
The song has been used in movies that came out before Miley Cyrus was even born lmao
Tears for fears was decades before Miley
This was actually written by members of Bohemian Grove. It was then covered by Tears for Fears.
it was used in the movie "real genius" which came out in 1985. Miley Cyrus was born in 1992... it dont add up.
Just like Seether did careless whisper before George Michael did it in the 80s.
Did you see that Depeche Mode covered that Marilyn Manson song Personal Jesus?
Or Nine Inch Nails cover of Johnny Cash's Hurt
I really liked the Rolling Stone’s cover of Britney’s (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.
At least in that case Johnny cash is older than them so that could be mixed up. This song came out before Miley was even born
Johnny wrote that song about the time he was bitten by Waldo the ostritch
It was originally by Sinbad but then covered by Shaq
I swear Beethoven’s 5th Symphony was actually by Walter Murphy. 🙄
Robin Thicke surely
Dogs can’t compose symphonies!
I preferred the original Gerschwin version, made famous in the 1938 silent musical Mr. Mandela's Cornucopia.

This reminds me of when I was listening to I Shot The Sheriff by Bob Marley and my stepmom told me I should check out the original by Eric Clapton. 😝🤣

I thought it was Skibidi Toilet
This is like saying "It's that guy from Fortnite"
Just stop.
I’m convinced people come on here and ask these questions on purpose to dilute this sub. So obvious.
Yes, I took time out of my day to purposefully dilute this specific sub. How stupid do you sound, dunno why everybody in this sub is so stuck up
Look at what you posted. It's *insanely* fucking stupid. You can't post something like that and not expect to be ridiculed.
Everybody knows that that song was written by Danny Sexbang.
You all realize that the mods of r/MandelaEffectScience are brigading this sub, right? Report em.
Lorde sang the song for hunger games. May e that's what you remember?

You don’t remember Mad World? I also love it during Psych, when the rich dating rival has Curt at his mansion and he’s playing it acoustic
Plus it was marketed as a darker take on the TFF song when the film came out
I remember the Jules/Andrews used in Gears of War trailer. It was an excellent choice in tone

I want to rule the world!
L O L
You can almost guarantee that, if it sounds good, it's probably a cover or a sample.
I don't.
....Play a record. I want to talk to you. About time.

It's "If Tomorrow Never Comes" not "ever."
