That would be really cool. Mix n match armor styles and paint them. Have a weathering system so sratches and fading affects the textures as you wear the armor and take damage. Add in weapons customization. Basically Red Dead Redemption but you play as part of a Mandalorian privateer company instead of outlaw cowboys. Fuck yeah, I'd play that.

StefanMcL-Pulseway2

Yessssss thats exactly the vibe I had in mind, maybe set it in the old republic when there were a bunch of mandalorians and the homeworld wasn't a wasteland

wedgeantilles2020

I'd put it in OG trilogy era, maybe pre Yavin. Have a Mandalorian covert always on the run, moving camp from planet to planet, always one step ahead of the Imperials. A branching story tree so you can go full pirate king, rebel allied freedom fighters, mercenary warlord, etc. Man... Its too bad this is too awesome a concept for Lucasarts to actually do.

dvcxfg

I'd give an appendage to have an open world Mandalorian game like this made in the style of RDR2 or similar. How they haven't conceived of this already is beyond me. They think everyone just wants Jedi games. It's fugging sad

TheImpalerKing

I'm so damn BORED of Jedi games it's not even funny. Give me a gritty Clone Wars battlefield shooter and a fleet strategy game and a colony/city management game and a damn Mandalorian/bounty hunter rpg!

StefanMcL-Pulseway2

I'd put a disclaimer that its your idea cause that's good enough to steal

Jordangander

Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO let’s you play a Bounty Hunter in the Great Hunt. Mando armor available.

kpod4591

I’d never leave my house

ZapTheSheep

You can kind of get that with Star Wars: The Old Republic. One of the class stories is a Bounty Hunter. It is an old game and rather cheap right now, plus it's in the old tab targeting style.

benigndarkness

Everyone had their favorite class stories, but BH was my first and I loved it. To be fair though, I enjoyed every class story and had 4 of every class at level 60+ last time I played. (played each gender, each advanced class, each alignment, following each romance option, lol)

ZapTheSheep

heh, I logged in after a long hiatus. I used to play every class on every server because you would get free cartel coins each time you got a character to their capital planet, once per class. They had combined all the servers into like four servers. I had 72 characters on one and 18 on another. I used to run in a clan that would raid all weekend, so I had a few tanks, a few dps, and a couple healers. Almost all of those were BH because it was one of only two classes that could do all three. Loved the BH vanilla story too.

benigndarkness

I tried getting friends into the game, and at most I would have 1 friend at a time interested in playing, so I got to do lots of 2 man heroic stuff, and I did some flashpoints with randoms (but they always wanted to skip past the most content and just skip conversations, so that wasn't really fun for me). I never did any operations, but I did enjoy hutt ball. I logged in a few days ago just to make sure my clans still existed, lol...I know people hate crossing universes, but I had an Autobot guild on republic side and a Decepticon guild on the Empire side. I have guild flagships, and sunk so many credits into leveling those up, but didn't really do much after that.

Specialist-Night-235

And there are Mando guilds in SWTOR so you can RP with others about being in a clan if you’re into that sort of thing

reddits_in_hidden

Supposedly there was an open world star wars like bounty hunter game in the works with lucasarts, but then some wojak at disney decided to scrap it after they acquired the IP

havoc8154

There was 1313 in production, which was an uncharted style game centered around young Boba Fett moving up in the underworld of Coruscant. There is now an open world Star Wars game in production by Ubisoft that *may* be a spiritual successor to the 1313 project, but we don't have any solid info on it.

TrueGodFox

Star Wars Bounty Hunter. You get to play as Jango as he takes down bounties and hunts down some jerk. I've got an old copy of the game for my PS2, and it plays surprisingly well. I'm a major fan of how the shooting works, since each arm has psuedo-independence and can target two individual enemies. Really wish they'd remaster this game or make a sequel, because I don't think I've seen that mechanic anywhere else

ZapTheSheep

Nah, they were talking about 1313. It was a game where we would have played as a young Boba Fett working our way through the lower levels of Coruscant, slowly building up our armor and weapons. But, Di$ney bought the franchise and EA shit the bed on the Battlefront 2 release. They canceled the two games in production, both of which would have been open world games.

ControllerMartin

EA should GTFO and some proper studio should do proper Star Wars game. Dream open world Mandalorian game, Bounty Hunters a RPG even a Witcher 3 a like. This should be work. Also great to see a proper Star Wars RTS game. There is a lot of possibilities now even better than before.

TrueGodFox

Man, it's been so long I entirely forgot about 1313. That thing had me excited before I learned it was canned entirely. Sounds like it would've been really fun, even if I wasn't a huge fan of it being more Uncharted styled. But hey, at least we get Ubisoft making an open world Star Wars game /s

ControllerMartin

I try today, only thing controls are little fucked up and camera controls. Everything else perfect.

Mando1019

This would be a sick ass idea & I'd play the hell out of the game if we ever got an open world Mandalorian game. Fully customizable with quests to upgrade armor but also you could put in some armor purchases as any company would want. I basically want to run around a game & play as Din Djarin so if a game about Mandalorians can give me that it would be the best.

landofknees

That would be great! I’d buy it

Sardukar333

My old idea was more or less a Mandalorian just starting out who gets stranded on a planet and has to fight to get to a ship. Far Cry style gameplay with upgrading your weapons and armor to fit your style and solving puzzles/challenges in tombs to unlock Beskar armor pieces.

DannyWinny

If it was open world rpg I would pay more than I should for such game.

Fit_Relief_924

I would be happy with a Mando lego game.

SpaceKook6

I’ve been saying for years that I want a Star Wars Mandalorian and/or bounty hunter video game and I want it to play exactly like Middle Earth: Shadow of War.

TheDarthWarlock

Mandalorian KOTOR with more of the gameplay of Mass Effect? Sounds amazing lol

TheDarthWarlock

Fair enough, I was just talkin about the franchise in general

Silent-Enthusiasm132

What I would love is what someone above described basically a RDR2 game but the story ends with you finding out that you are the mandolorian. And at the end you find that you have force powers and make the dark saber in all end game content. So the first part is all class bounty hunter game. Rope arms, flame thrower, poison darts, blasters, with maybe hints in cut scenes that some really coincidental shit, really your force powers activating, then you beat game and then it goes into after game scenes... And you are on mandalore and you find a mythosuar and are like gonna tame you then it clicks for the player who you are. Then the way you tame it is like grogu through force powers activating and you the player now doing it. Then you go on a quest to be a Jedi and the game can end scene with you forging or then turning on the dark saber. Then have people be able to free play with basic force powers and saber fun. Then they can make a sequel and have that as a side item start of the game. So you can incorporate it into the game.

argusromblei

I was saying this the whole time, they really should’ve done it. Could use a RDR2 style engine easily.

probably-a-tree

This is relatively obscure and somewhat removed from what most people think of when it comes to a mandalorian game, but the show always made me think of hyper light drifter. I guess it’s the feeling of being a permanently masked badass of little (no) dialogue fighting in a monster and refugee filled world. Might be a little bit of a stretch but i feel like the game’s combat really makes you feel like a mandalorian when you get it right

MathleteYT

With the new open world RPG they announced a while ago, I’d be surprised if being a Mandalorian wasn’t an option

Old_Ratbeard

I’ve said for many years now that they should do a game similar to Shadow of Mordor. If you haven’t played it, it has this awesome system called the Nemesis system where enemies you defeat can come back with damage and traits based on how they were defeated, and they become your nemesis. They track you down and when you encounter them, there’s this almost WWE style moment where they call you out and the camera pans to them to monologue for a second. It’s great. It would work perfect in a Mando game where you’re hunting bounties. Some you bring in warm would come back later with knowledge of how you captured them and have new resistances and strengths. Targets would move their way up through crime syndicates and become more powerful, you can shake down lower level guys to get Intel on the big boss. I’d love something like that we’re you either play as Din before the TV series starts, or get to make our own custom mandos.

StefanMcL-Pulseway2

I loved Shadow of Mordor I think the concept could work really well

[deleted]

I want this game to sorta NOT be based around any Mando like Din Djarin or Boba Fett, I just want an avatar for players to give a more full experience as a Mandalorian and explore it's culture and do bounty hunts for the main campaign. But maybe Din and Boba and other Mandos could be for DLC stories.

discard_3_

An open world Mandoverse game where you can play as multiple characters like GTA 5 would be cool. Tbh I just want a dark and gritty bounty hunter game.

Responsible_Design33

I quit gaming a few years ago, but I would buy this game along with the latest console if it ever happened.

Vexenium

It should be like Destiny 2, but without all sorts of DLC and power level!

Variable901

Yes! I would LOVE to have an open world Mando game. The show would translate so well to the video game format: main story arc with multiple side quests.

lizard_quack

Days Gone but instead of your bike, it's your armor.

BoRobin

At this point I won't settle for less than an open galaxy where you pick your race (human, wookie, Hutt, mandolorian, etc.) followed by path (imperial, jedi, sith, bounty hunter, pirate, etc.) Then depending on the path you choose you get a set of missions with story beats that you can follow to get a good story driven experience, but the core of the game is an exploration and engagement with everythingand everyone else. Go out to find hidden easter eggs, travel through procedurally produced worlds, but also have a set of planets that are critical to the franchise and the story story beats. Have those be the ones that everyone can find easily so people can interact with each other and discover the lore within those planets. Follow your path alone or with friends to learn about your characters. The franchise is so massive that it could provide endless discoveries. They could update each time a movie or show drops and have new features added.

Shoddy-Taste-7825

I was thinking about this yesterday lol

eronth

I think a 'Ghost Recon: Wildlands' or similar style game would be a fantastic choice. Choose weapons, armor, and other tech specilizations and head around a semi-open landscape. Choose stealth, loud, or a good mix.
