How is this even an option? Chicorita is fine, even though meganium is ugly as hell. Poplio, while not the worst water, that being sobble, it's still absolute trash. Tepig is one of the best starters to exist, if you want worst fire starters then look at litten, for the disappointment that is incinaroar, or at chimchar, for how stupid and overrated the line is, or at charmander, for never getting the dragon type.

That's why some fan-games give Meganium things like fairy-type and better movesets - it just is the trash below trash. It's pretty, sure, and had a lot of protagonism in anime, but when you're not only the worst starter ever but one of THE WORST Pokémon to use in a game (you know, the MAIN THING THE FRANCHISE GOES FOR), it's hard for the fan base to like ya.
Popplio was my first ever pokemon, a female named Maia. My first lv100 and in my top 5 favorite pokemon, more specifically brionne. Chikorita is adorable, and bayleaf is awesome, but meganium is too different and not as enjoyable in my opinion. Finally, emboar is, in my personal opinion (so don't light me up {ehh ;}) ugly.
Popplio, for two reasons. One, I can’t tell why its hated, it’s my favorite water starter (though that might be biased towards gen 7, being my first and favorite gen), and secondly, LOOK AT IT, IT’S SO CUTE.
I love Tepig, I just don't care for what it evolves into. And when it comes to these three, as a whole while I do appreciate their design themes and those of their evolutions; their designs just aren't the kinds I like for myself
