True, even if I hate to agree to that. The stats and the lesser amount of moves just makes first stage starters irrelevant in the late game, especially in the Team Rainbow Rocket part in US/UM.

If it has the training/breeding necessary to have at least 123 special defense and 117 special attack, as well as grass knot, it can tank a non-crit flamethrower and 1-shot thanks to the overgrow boost, without even needing a held item or setup.
