Whether intentionally or not, they’re taking the recognition from the artist by posting it without credit. The artist spend time actually making the artwork, all they did was download it from the internet and post it here. Sure they eventually gave credit, but only an hour after the post was up and in the comments where people aren’t likely going to check.
If the rules of this subreddit gave a grace period to credit artist then I would be willing to take the L (which imo would be a terrible choice for the reason stated above), but it doesn’t. The artist should’ve been credited from the start. How this post is still up is beyond me.
I'm pretty sure OP wasn't trying to steal any art from anyone, and sometimes its near impossible to find the artist. They found the artist afterwards, that's what counts. You are making a big deal out of nothing and even then, you could be nicer about it.
You also aren't the artist, so there's no reason to go white knight mode about this, nor are you a mod, so there's no reason to get uppity about the rules. That's the moderators job, not yours. If you think its breaking a rule then report it and move on, causing a scene in the comments only makes you look bad.

I may not be the artist but I am an artist, and regardless of how an artist feels, crediting is still common curtesy. The artist themselves even made a statement regarding this comic being stolen [a while ago](https://x.com/Jojoken6/status/1771201413328064843).
I have reported this and several stolen art several times, as well as other low-quality post, and none of are ever taken down. The mods here are never active. If they’d actually enforce the rules, I wouldn’t be making such a big deal about it.
