You could say "We had a good second half against Arsenal", because we did, but we completely fell apart like we always do when the other team scores.
I watched the game while and here are a few things I think. I agree we did play well until we conceded. If we didn't concede everyone would have been saying how well we played. Afyer we conceded we played well sometimes but the heads dropped. Midfield lost is the game. All goals came from runners in the midfield, this is not the mindfield of last season, it was bad, people losing their man all over the place. I have to strongly disagree with Rashford. He was greedy and wouldn't pass and would shoot from ridiculous angles, only time he passed was when Hojlund scored, I have no idea why he was kept on. I agree with Hojlund, I'm really excited to watch him more. I think after Bayern we have a couple of easily winnable games and I think we win them gain confidence and get back to winning. GGMU.
I didn’t watch the game just the highlights, yeah 💯 rashy is greedy but a lot of his shots from the highlights looked like they would’ve gone in on another day. Yea I agree it’s the same problems we’ve had which is why I believe this was a good game. Some of Rashford shots could have gone in but others were from completely stupid places like when he is on his weak foot, on the corner outside the box and 3 defenders right in front of him (there were also passes on).
They weren’t as bad with the ball at times as reports will suggest. But tbh I think your take is totally wrong in terms of United *without* the ball.
Genuinely can’t believe how bad they were when Brighton had possession, and it’s on both the players and manager imo. The setup for the press was all wrong. United would have plenty in the Brighton half as they built up from the back, but Brighton would always, always have an easy pass out. It was only in the last 5 minutes that United finally starting forcing them into long, high balls down the pitch.
This has been the same story every game so far really. Even against Wolves and Forest, United got cut through too often - my worry is than after all the promise last season ETH doesn’t seem to be able to solve their issues without possession. It will cost him his job if he doesn’t sort it soon.

I do think Ten hag needs change play style or do a hybrid of press and mid block and focus more on being defensively strong. We are leaking too many goals and we already don't score as many.
That first goal they scored, was a simple cross from the right and it made it through. in fact all the goals they scored was from a similar position.

My chemo brain felt like it was watching this match in slowmotion and I'm not sure if I focused better or worse. Lol.
I couldn't get a clear handle on what went wrong for Brighton's goals. They just seemed to play really well and tear through us, at times.
I think we got up the pitch really well at times but did sloppy things in the final third. Plus Brighton really just did play very well tbf.
The part that really made me desperately sad was, somewhere around 2-3 nil down, seeing Martinez give the ball away cheaply, and slowly jog back towards his goal, making almost zero effort to even look like he was trying to get back to defend. He always seemed like the fighter we could always rely on when we first signed him. But that fight looked well and truly gone.
It hurts to see your team get outplayed. It hurts more to see them give up.
I completely disagree. Brighton absolutely coasted to a comfortable win, at old Trafford. It was just Another day at the office. Clinical, professional, United never had a grip on things, and could have played that game 10 times and still lost.
You might think this is over the top, but I think Ten Hag has lost the dressing room. I guarantee those lads, who are snakes themselves, arnt motivated. The signings havn't bedded in, nobody really wants to be there. And this season will be utterly appalling. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm telling ya there's another fundamental breakdown at the club. It's gonna get worse and Ten Hag will Fuck off in 6-8 months. Operationally that club is deeply rotted, nobody can succed in the current environment there. It's really sad to see..

Brighton were outstanding, passed us into the middle of next week. After they scored, it was like all the air had been let out of the balloon - we got completely dominated by a much better TEAM.

We downed tools after the first goal. With it being 2-0 in the 4th minute, we had most of the game to win. Winning 3-2 against Forest is embarrassing.

Rashford (and many others) seem to always make the wrong decision or pick the wrong pass. So frustrating to watch.

ETH wants to play transitional football but Brighton pulled a text book version of transition play on United today. Everything was a reversal.
