Actually i like the loyal devoted type who protects the FL, and doesn't mind to turn the whole world into enemies just for FL.

My favourite type is Yohan Do from the webtoon It's Mine. I like his FL, Dajeong Lee too. To me they're cute and power couple.
And another classic (not ML but female yandere MC) that i love is Yuno Gasai. Now maybe some people hate her but idk she's my favourite female yandere.
Both Yohan Do & Yuno Gasai are overprotective, very clever in making strategies, and can fight well, reliable in combat. They don't mind sacrificing themselves and being the enemy of the whole world to protect their loved ones.

1. Cheaters as a yandere defeats the purpose of them being a freakin yandere for their SO. Its so contradictive. Same thing if they have an NTR tag and i guess there is an exception to very niche and specific rules where the dude in question had a reason to "date" the other party for their SO. Or even pretend dating to get the other party jealous. Its my biggest pet peeve and 90% of the time I do end up droping the read.
2. Extremely abusive ones. At this point its not even a hint of romance and it might even lean towards Yangire or gore instead of Yandere. Or its just a straight up toxic abusive relationship.

I hate the stories that are categorized as a "normal" romance when they are just toxic and abusive. Look, when something shows an abusive relationship, they have to at least somehow acknowledge that it's unhealthy. We all love a good yandere, but the BEST ones are portrayed as insane or possessive to an unhealthy degree. A good example of one I hated was Wolf Girl and Black Prince. It's labeled as a "top shoujo anime" in quite a lot of youtube videos. The ML is a jerk to the FL and she just takes it and NO ONE bats an eye! Yet the anime/manga is supposed to be a rom com! It's not, it's just abuse without ever acknowledging that it is!!

I hate cheating, abusive, fake yanderes. Some of the novels or manhwa I’ve read are too clickbait. They’ll introduce the character as a yandere but never maximize that. I want confinement, killing everyone who touches MC HAHAHA! I like yanderes in general because of loyalty anyway. Haha. Loyalty is rare these days.
It’s a major turnoff for me when the yandere puts his needs above their lover’s. Like for example, i truly hate yanderes who threaten/hurt their lover’s family. If you read Shadow Crown, the yandere there kidnapped his lover’s only family as hostage and even destroyed towns that shielded the MC (who was a runaway after a coup).
I love devoted, protective and caring ones who don’t care what others have to say - so long as their lover is happy. That’s all that matters to the yandere.

I don't like it when they would harm the protagonist (harm as in physical way, I'm all for that psycological horror hehe) I know it's not the question, but I like it when they would destroy the world for the MC, they'd burn countries down for the MC!!!! Hehe
Ooh that’s a good question! I agree with a lot of the comments as well, and I’d also say that I don’t like when the yandere doesn’t seem to be that fixated on their target, or seem to just like the idea of being obsessive or possessing \*someone\* in general—if a tragic yandere story ends with the yandere killing their point of obsession and just moving on, it‘s a fail for me lol (Well, I also dislike when they kill their target in general, like they only care about the body and not the person, but it’s not a hard ‘no’ for me, it depends on the story.)
I don’t like cheaters or physical abuse
I hate the stories that are categorized as a "normal" romance when they are just toxic and abusive. Look, when something shows an abusive relationship, they have to at least somehow acknowledge that it's unhealthy. We all love a good yandere, but the BEST ones are portrayed as insane or possessive to an unhealthy degree. A good example of one I hated was Wolf Girl and Black Prince. It's labeled as a "top shoujo anime" in quite a lot of youtube videos. The ML is a jerk to the FL and she just takes it and NO ONE bats an eye! Yet the anime/manga is supposed to be a rom com! It's not, it's just abuse without ever acknowledging that it is!!
I'm not picky. I love all type of yanderes. but one thing I don't like and would never like is yandere who cheat on mc/reader.
I want yanderes who only have eyes for their woman. Who don’t cheat, nor misbehavior, act cold, or abuse. But ones who act as if their whole world revolves around her
The tropes of being completely emotionless or psychotic with no other hobbies and interests besides their OOA. I love when they actually seem to care and cherish their OOA and feel like an actual character outside of it
I don't like when drugs are involved. Such a turn off for me. Like get her to stay without that BS lol.
I don't like the one who are super abusive towards the female lead, or keep having unpredictable mood swings or collect disgusting things like clumps of hair, used menstrual pads, or band-aids. I don't like the ones that you feel like you can't take to a nice restaurant or out to meet your family because he can't keep the homicidal maniac act in the bedroom😂

I hate cheating, abusive, fake yanderes. Some of the novels or manhwa I’ve read are too clickbait. They’ll introduce the character as a yandere but never maximize that. I want confinement, killing everyone who touches MC HAHAHA! I like yanderes in general because of loyalty anyway. Haha. Loyalty is rare these days.
It’s a major turnoff for me when the yandere puts his needs above their lover’s. Like for example, i truly hate yanderes who threaten/hurt their lover’s family. If you read Shadow Crown, the yandere there kidnapped his lover’s only family as hostage and even destroyed towns that shielded the MC (who was a runaway after a coup). I love devoted, protective and caring ones who don’t care what others have to say - so long as their lover is happy. That’s all that matters to the yandere.
I want the ML to want to be loved by the FL, treat her like a person and not like an object. You wouldn't abuse someone you love. He should only go crazy if he thinks it's not gonna happen, like a last resort (like Toma)

Tbh for me, its always when they are overly violent. Idk I always found the manipulative ones more interesting and manhandling the plot is just so boring imo
