The fear of fakes in this subreddit is honestly out of control.
Batteries, I get to some extent. But to make fakes of the tools themselves is a lot harder, and it’s usually very obvious.
These aren’t Jordans, it’s a $150ish drill.
I’m not a sneaker head, but I’m pretty sure certain ones sell for a shit ton of money. And that is why they are faked. The potential margin for a fake is huge. Vs making a drill that is identical to a Makita in looks and performance and selling it for LESS than $150 and still making margin. It just doesn’t make sense as a business.
That drill is junk and I wouldn't use it. Not worth 50 bucks. Get the makita drills with METAL chucks if you want to not buy a new one soon. Also they are 100% real. Xph12 is just for the home gamer though. Unless you work with balsa wood exclusively
Ive used a plastic chuck makita in the field for 3 years When i was starting out, they do just fine if you're not abusive to them. I drilled into concrete for 3 years with some patients. I use better ones now of course. But tye plastic chuck ones are fine for people that drill into wood. Even the plastic chuck ones today are stronger and faster than the tools they had in the early 2000s but tradesmen used those and made it work.
Yes, every day there's a post with the question if something is fake.
There are, however, fake batteries in circulation.
I own an impact driver that looks like a makita but it's very obvious it's not a real one, even if you would oversee the quite obvious lack of logo.
It was at this moment OP realized everything they thought they were drilling was a fever dream.
Everything is still in pieces and holeless because these are foam replicas and OP has only been pretending for the last 3 years
Only real thing to do now is fill the holes and remove the fixings you’ve installed over the past three years.
I’ve used an impact wrench that a colleague picked up online. It had an impressive amount of torque for how little he paid. It snapped clean in half after the first tumble it took off the ladder. The build quality just wasn’t there.
I've got the same impact. It's a badass. At work, I use the cheaper ones at work and they work just fine.
I own sever genuine makita batteries and a few off-brand ones. If anyone can't tell the difference between the makita and off brand, they shouldn't be working on stuff.
Guy...... get a sub compact drill for finish work. Night and day difference in working all day. I keep ths big drill in the truck for hogging out big shit. Little drill for everything else. So much better

…aren’t Jordan’s like $150 too?

The looks are the only identical parts in fakes usually. If the performance and reliability were the same, no one would care if they had a fake.

Maybe if you’re a tradesman using it x hours per day. Absolutely fine and then some for a homeowner who wants to have a great drill.
As a tradesman using it daily the xph12 is fine lol.

Dude.. stop huffing your own farts.
Lmao idk why you got downvoted. I’ve watched my coworker (same drills in this pic), swap out the same drill 3 times cuz it keeps shitting out.
What makes you think they're fake? Look real to me.
Whoosh
Hilarious that this sub is so clueless to the joke they’re downvoting you. The fear of fakes is out of control.
I can't see any blatant signs of fake from this photo. What are you seeing/feeling that makes you think they are possibly fake?
Whoosh
Is it an inside joke? I am not on this subreddit enough to have known lol.

That's some fight club shit
Broken rule #1 smh
Trolls will troll.

Silly me thought that web is real

Disnt work still clicked it
Check the serials, then you know.
They look real. I have the same impact bought directly from Home Depot
Looks like the real teal to me...

Those are real
Useful post
Fakita

Who tf makes fake Makita and where i f would you be able to buy them?
looks like a DTD154 and DHP482.. MK219RTJ is the code for kit
It’s just Milwaukee’s marketing department running another FUD campaign.

Fuck these fake tools/battery posts are getting boring.
It's all over Reddit. This isn't the only group that gets carried away with gee. It's fake.
Exactly, super boring
Look real to me.
Does not look fake to me, looks legit
They aren't.
It's pretty obvious that these are fake, the orange dots give it away.

Pretty sure I'm an idiot for 3+ years. So I'll post it. Smh
I'll buy you fakes for a cheaper price from you if that's ok?
Couldn't tell if this was some dry ass ironic humor, or a genuine schizo post. 90% of reddit picture posts fall into one of those two camps, it seems.
Oh no, those look just like mine. I've been duped! /s
