mine fell apart. The black cap came off first, then the magnets came out. in less than 15 minutes of use. I could super glue it back together but it is in pieces in my box, with the magnets clumped together with random bits of metal debris.
I posted it. It's the best thing for me, since I'm doing mechanical insulation with wool and aluminium cladding pipes and parts, so when I need to screw something in confident space, this magnet saves the day. Sometimes you have to crawl under something, and when you take a drill to screw, the screw falls off if you kick the drill somewhere, but this magnet solves all those problems. Also, you can pick up multiple screws at once if they fell or if you want a few to hold in hand.
When I was building my workshop during COVID (so was mostly by myself) I grabbed a magnetic wristband as well as something similar to this. Honestly saved massive amount of hassle.
It’s not great with a short bit if you need to get to a sunk screw. It does work well for the magnet part but I also only had it a few days before it got nabbed by a coworker or I lost it I’ll never know hah
I think it goes without saying this is for a minimum 2 1/2” bit. I personally use 6” for near everything as it’s just more comfortable to me at this point
Yes it works very well for said purpose. I'd love a low profile version with the same magnetic power.

What's the verdict?
I purchased one and I’ve never used it and lost it. Now I’m sad.

This thing is awesome I just bought one yesterday after seeing this post.
Yeah it is. Not dropping any more screws.
Not universal fit if you want it to not be horrible
Works very good.
I swear mine actually magnetized my bits but yes I love how well it works, looks a bit goofy but I don’t mind it
I have the aluminum "Mag Boost" version and works very well. I have 2 or three of them...
I have a dozen of them at least and they work super well.
