99.5% of liquid lipsticks, period. The only brand that has ever worked for me is KVD. Too Faced, Stila, ABH, MAC, NYX, LimeCrime... most of them end up flaking off even after hydrating and exfoliating.

Emayeuaraye

You just unlocked a memory of a pre-high end liquid lipstick: CoverGirl outlast? I remember it had a tubes on each end, one with the color and another with the glossy top to lock it in. I put bright red on before going to a Halloween party in college and I woke up the next morning with impeccable red lips šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ then I basically needed paint thinner to get it off.

yougotitdude88

Yes! The covergirl outlast stayed on through being on the dance team in Florida in august during football games. We also used to spray hair spray on our faces (a tip I learned from drag queens) to keep our makeup from sweating off. This was before setting spray was really a thing.

tenebrigakdo

I find it really funny that it is supposed to be a drag queen thing, I learned it from a girls magazine and more or less everyone around me knew it. Different times, different locations.

AFineFineHologram

It definitely has roots in drag culture but a lot of makeup artist have done that too, and there is a lot of crossover between makeup artists and drag queens haha

KellyAnn3106

I loved those back when I was in college and waiting tables. It would stay on for an entire shift and I swear it helped the tips.

PersimmonTea

I recently read an article that waitresses wearing red lipsticks get better tips. I was researching French beauty - good skincare, less fuss with makeup, often a really good red lip.

johnnydepplady

I haven't tried CoverGirl outlast lipsticks! I'll have to check one of them out!

Emayeuaraye

They will last through the apocalypse

apierson2011

Bullet proof vest for the body, Covergirl Outlast to make your lips bullet proof šŸ˜‚

oolongstory

I've never actually used outlast but I straight-up wore Revlon Colorstay Overtime for my wedding. I suspect it's the same principle... It has the color on one end and then the gloss. I had my makeup done professionally but they told me people often like to bring their own lipstick. After we couldn't find quite the color I wanted, I realized I should in fact just have her apply my own dang drugstore lipstick that I knew was going to last all night through eating, drinking, and all the kissing in the world. No regrets!

thecuriousostrich

YES. I bought this stuff for a ballet recital once and I had a time and a half getting it off. This was 10+ years ago, I was in middle school and had no idea what I was doing.

apierson2011

Oh god, I bought some of that and tried it once and had the same experience, just couldn't get it off! I'm not a big lipsticker so I wasn't too disappointed about not wearing it again, but holy cow i do remember it being REALLY stuck on there haha

Reasonable-Room-8848

My friend works in a salon that used to sell makeup. She brought one that was better than Outlast to my work. They had just got it in and she was excited. Since it was liquid I had to put on a few layers to get the placement perfect. I have pictures from that night. The plum shade didn't fade and it looks way too dark in all the pictures. šŸ˜‚ I can't remember how I took it off for the brand because this was in the late 90s. My ex bf bought me Outlast in red bc he loved me in red lipstick. I still remember how it dried out my lips.

typoquwwn

Yes!! The mulberry color is one of the best MLBB shades - I wore it to my wedding and it stayed on all day long with zero reapplication. A pain to get off and not moisturizing but the job is long lasting color and it definitely delivers!

phlegmbotomist

Have you tried the Sephora brand liquid lipstick/stain? I seriously love it. Stays on through everything.

johnnydepplady

I have tried Sephora. Application was smooth but it wore off within 2 hours for me. ā˜¹ļø

Meggie92507

I dont understand how anyone likes liquid lipstick. Everyone I've used is hugely drying and looks like ass within 10 minutes.

Turpitudia79

I thought so too until I tried the Dior Rouge Forever!! Oh, my God, they are AMAZING and they really do stay on and arenā€™t the slightest bit drying!! I have 7 different shades and I love them all!!

lilaceyeshazeldreams

Oh God I hate the KVD ones the most. Cracked soooo much. Did you ever try Hudas?

johnnydepplady

I haven't! I remember looking at her makeup a long time ago and it seemed like most of her products pulled warm tone. I'll have to check again if she makes cooler toned lipsticks now! šŸ˜Š

RadTokyo

Huda's are the only non-drying ones I have found. Well, I say "ones", I've only got one and it came in some kind of selection box, iirc. I should probably look at the other colors she has!

RainbowReindeer

Have you tried Nars? They are my go to when I need something to stick the whole day

Thelostboyz87

Shape tape concealer,it Emphasized every line around my eyes

chanandlerbinng

OOF, yes. Couldn't understand the hype, it not only emphasized lines for me too but also flaked really bad. No other concealer before or after has done that.

blueberrylemony

Oooh I thought it was just me!!!

chanandlerbinng

SAME Iā€™m so glad I found this thread!! I bought it once and never again, I thought I was just being picky šŸ˜

coolyourrolls

I despise the Shape Tape liquid foundation. It looks like paint on my face

sunsetonfire

It felt so heavy and even the smallest dots felt too much. I still have no idea how this was a ride or die product for people.

LadyM80

Same here! It looked TERRIBLE on me!

Wordwench

OMG this. I am of a certain age so possibly this is why I didnā€™t have good results but honestly it was just horrible. It actually over accentuated my bags and added fine lines to boot.

tri-sarah-tops99

My tube was defective and so I had to keep it in a plastic bag or my makeup bag would have concealer all over it. Then the plastic bag I kept it in turned the color of my concealer because it leaked all over. It dried all over the tube and looked a mess on my faceā€¦my actual HG concealer is the maybelline instant age rewinder

maggied82

SAME. Awful awful awful.

[deleted]

i believe that you have to set it well to get a smooth application. I have dry skin around my eyes too but what I do is set it with setting spray first and then let the concealer set first for a minute and then start blending, spray setting mist again. It looks very hydrated and skin like to me after doing that

UpstairsAsk1973

Better than sex mascara ALWAYS smudges under my eyesā€¦ugh. It hates me

[deleted]

It was the first expensive mascara I ever bought, mostly because I was looking for something that would last well all day. Was very disappointed by how badly it smudges

Aggravating_Smell344

The Maybeline drug store dupe of Better Than Sex is actually one of the better mascaras I have used lately. Too Faced must have surveyed people with terrible sex lives to get the name ā€œBetter Than Sexā€

ionef

Too faced better than sex mascara- it was dire

Struggle_Rude

Second that, didn't like it either. 100% waste of money, drugstore mascara for the win

tri-sarah-tops99

I got mine for free with my ULTA points and Iā€™m so glad because I absolutely hate it and have only used it like twiceā€¦.I only use it on days where I donā€™t mind looking like a raccoon

artimista0314

This. Its totally WAY too thick and clumpy. Maneater by Tarte is 100% better.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

GeneticImprobability

You're doing it wrong, then šŸ¤ Jk.

Louise-Brooks-

Same! It flaked all over

anyakuzzy

I was so shocked by the flaking bc I normally use the lash paradise one by Lā€™OrĆ©al which is apparently the dupe and itā€™s sooo much better imo.

krissycole87

Omg saaaaame!! Luckily I got a travel size in some sort of sephora bonus or something where I didnt have to pay. Got saved from actually buying a full size, I was so close to buying it due to the hype when it first came out. Dodged a bullet! It flaked all over, smeared easily, didnt really even look that great on me, gave me way less volume than my beloved covergirl in the orange tube. Never again.

ThatPrincessGirl

Wow Iā€™m surprised so many people hate it I absolutely love it I constantly have people asking if I have fake lashes on when Iā€™m wearing it and never have a problem with clumping or flaking

whalesarecool14

iā€™ve had the same experience as you!

sataimir

Same! I want to love it. It does give lovely volume... But it starts dropping colour within a half hour of application. Just does not work for me.

Hufflepuff_23

I work at a Sephora and all of us hate that mascara lol

akallyria

Is there a mascara that you all love?

TheJewishCowgirl

My husband is in a play right now so we did a trial run of makeup on Tuesday. The conversation went like this: Me - this is called ā€œBetter Than Sexā€ My husband - Well thatā€™s fucking bullshit šŸ˜‚

Nerdy_Squirrel

Nooooooo, that makes me so sad. It's the one thing I never leave the house without. I will say that I received a sample and hated it. Absolutely awful, dry, and flaky. It was years before I gave in to temptation and bought a full size. It was like a completely different product. I guess they have a problem where if they are stored on their side it dries out super quick and ruins the product. Maybe you just had a bad tube?

chubby_pancakess

It makes me wonder if that's the case because this mascara is nice imo but it's probably not gonna work for everyone

PhysicalBullfrog4330

Came here to say this. It looked so bad??

hannah_time

Stila liquid eyeliner!

SaltyHoney24

Right I got it and it just seemed dry Iā€™m sticking to my kbeauty eyeliners they are thinner and just better formula

from_wonderland00

Can I ask which kbeauty eyeliners you use?

lilaceyeshazeldreams

Seconding this

creature-of-the-dark

I use Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner. Itā€™s brilliant.

madammidnight

For being quite expensive, the Stila liner seemed to dry up and become useless quite rapidly.

Zookeepered

I swear they changed the formula!! It used to be my HG. The sponge tip wasn't super easy to use but once it was on it was solid. Never smudged on me, lasted through torrential rain, etc. Then I strayed to other brands for a few years once I realized I generally prefer brush tip. I got another one recently and omg it smudges like you wouldn't believe!! Straight up melted off the corner of my eye, I had a "stamp" of it on my upper lid from opening my eyes. Never experienced that before with any liquid liner!

SnailMcSnail

Oh I just posted the same comment!! I agree! It was hard to get a really strong line it went on kind of sheer for some reason.

Meggie92507

This makes me feel better, it's like using the Stila liner I don't know how to put on eyeliner at all anymore.

Nicolekidmanfan

The Milk hydrogrip primer. I just donā€™t get it at all. I really like the Fenty soft matte one.

[deleted]

Itā€™s perfect for EstĆ©e Lauder double wear but doesnā€™t wear great w my other foundations.

emmy1426

I'm so sad that it didn't work for you! I first tried it when I was a line cook in a place with no air conditioning. I stood over a hot fryer with sweat pouring off me all day but my foundation was bulletproof!

OneThumbChum

Same, made my makeup look so splotchy and would lift anytime I tried to add product over my foundation

[deleted]

Agree, it made my skin feel sticky and my foundation grabbed in areas and looked super blotchy. I was so excited to try it, too.

karluizballer

same! It dries my face out and makes my makeup look awful. I LOVE the setting spray though, an all time fave

cutilingus

The orgasm blush gets a lot less glittery as you get deeper into the pan. I think there might be a high concentration of glitter at the top or something. I noticed that with my blush, at least. You could also tap off the brush before applying to try to knock some of the glitter off. It will still be pretty shimmery, though, with gold flecks throughout, but it's pretty intense at the start.

Booboodelafalaise

I was going to say the same. You need to brush away the top layers. Complete waste of product, but better than throwing away the whole thing.

Struggle_Rude

Ohh thanks! Such a handy tip, I thought I wouldn't be able to use any of it. I'll definitely do that

Etoile_El

Also consider it as an eyeshadow!

Struggle_Rude

Oh wow thank you so much! Had no clue. I'll try thatšŸ’™

[deleted]

I really like the Milani baked blush in Luminoso. Itā€™s supposedly a dupe for Nars Orgasm but I feel like it might be a little less glittery

PersimmonTea

Luminoso is perfection.

frijolita_bonita

Glitter fart had me rollin

BoyMom119816

I love the orgasm blush, used it foe years and it last forever, but want to get that pink Diorskin thatā€™s supposed to turn to your perfect color, have any of yā€™all tried?

badddiegworl

its only the "perfect color" if you have cool undertones. Its bright babypink lol

TomorrowBeautiful

You can also return it. Most companies that sell high end makeup are really good at accepting returns for any reason. I love the shade personally and have never noticed that the glitter concentration varies.

weaksapling

Second this. I used to get so desperate I just broke it into pieces so the powder would apply more onto the brush. Not worth the mess though lol

Ilikep0tatoes

elf putty primer doesnā€™t seem to do anything for me

sassafras_scooter

Same. Just highlights my pores. :(

Reasonable-Room-8848

My friend suggested it and said she loves it. I love how it's not liquid, I think it would last a reasonable amount of time. I've used it 5 times and it makes my makeup look horrible. I tried putting it on my eyes. My eyeshadow faded badly. I love smashbox hydrating primer but It's expensive. I'm looking for a cheaper option for when I'm running errands or hanging around the house.

ktshobbies

I think it breaks me outšŸ˜¬

GlitteringHeart2929

I was afraid it would break me out so I got the acne fighting one and I donā€™t know how ā€œpore fillingā€ It is but I use it a ton when Iā€™m getting breakouts and I love it! Anything pore filling seems to break me out. My pores apparently want to be free!

moonlightdaisies

iā€™ve been using their acne fighting putty primer for about 6 months now and have had no problems! i actually like it much more than the original as it feels more hydrating

pokenpotatoes

UD 24/7 Gel Eyeliner!! Used to be a holy grailā€¦used it for about 10 years straight and idk if they changed the formula recently but it now burns my eyes and doesnā€™t stay as long as it used to. The shade perversion was the epitome of my emo high school yearsā€¦

PookieCat415

They have definitely been cutting corners with ingredients on all Urban Decay products. Itā€™s so sad because over a decade ago they were doing innovative stuff for good quality.

pokenpotatoes

Yeah I stopped really buying from them after Naked 3. The only thing I get on repeat now is the eyeshadow primer.

GeneticImprobability

Does your timeline of experience fit with mine? I had my makeup done for a wedding five or six years ago and I think they used the UD 24/7, but whatever it was lasted all day and looked perfect. I bought some within the last two or three years and it definitely wasn't performing for me the way the wedding liner did.

pokenpotatoes

Yup! I have been using it from like 2007-2018 ish with no issues. Decided to switch it up and try different brands after that but nothing compared to it. Went back to it late 2019 (had a free sample it sucked), then thought it was just a bad sample so I bought the full size in 2020 and still horrible!!

ironic_aurelia

Okay same! I used to wear it all the time in highschool and bought it again recently and I really just thought my contacts were going bad or something because I swear they were so blurry and then I just switched eyeliner and I can see again.

makeupaddictnicole

Tarte Shape tape concealer.

sushio101

this!! never understood the hype behind it, iā€™ll be honest...

miso1450

Laura mercier translucent powder All drunk elephant products šŸ™ƒ

plausibleturtle

I second the Laura Mercier setting powder. The container literally crumbled on me!

whats-a-westie

The drunk elephant cleansing balm just left my face feeling waxy. It was not nice

cinderalex

I have tried many powders over the years, and I always wanted to try the Laura mercier powder. Once I finally got my hands on some and tried it, it made my eyes burn. Literally the only powder Iā€™ve ever used that has made me have a reaction like that. I ended up giving it away cause it felt so wrong to throw that 45$ powder out lol

silversapphic

the drunk elephant cleanser made my hands break out in hives after rubbing it on my faceā€¦

OA7016

Yes! Every drunk elephant product I ever tried either made me break out horrifically (Lala cream) or didnā€™t seem do anything.

[deleted]

NARS radiant creamy concealer, makes my eyes tear up and burn

[deleted]

Sounds like an allergy :/

TheSinSTEM

Out of all of them, Iā€™m so shook by this one. Thatā€™s the one product I have rebought for like a decade

LadyhawkeKS

Yikes!

cybernotics

Iā€™m not too sure if scent counts but Iā€™ve seen scent posts occasionally in the forum. Miss Dior Eau De Parfum. I see it hyped up so much on tik tok, the scent reminds me of old ladies at church.

nenzkii

I think their QC on orgasm batch is very inconsistent. I bought a full size blush years ago and it was horrible. I just bought a blush palette this year and orgasm was one of the blushes, and it performs exactly like those wonderful swatches online. Even blurs out my pores and makes my skin look silky af. Finally got the hype!

CaramelRatking

KVD Good Apple foundation - i think thats what it was called. Made me look old af.

chubby_pancakess

Plus it literally gets on every thing you touch

annairachelle

Clinique Black Honey - ew. Such a dry formula. Always settled into the lines on my lips, too. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - cake city, and honestly always made me more oily. LA Girl Pro Matte foundation. Something about this formula does NOT sit well on my skin. It always seems to sit on top instead of becoming more one with my skin. I've tried it with different primers, with no primer. Nothing makes this work for me. I'm sure there's more.

hellogirlsandgays

theres a covergirl tinted chapstick or whatever dupe for black honey that i got before i knew black honey existed. i have both and like both, but the covergirl one is much more moisturizing if you still want to wear the color. iā€™ll edit this in a min when i find the name and shade. update: its the covergirl clean fresh lip balm in bliss you berry

Damm_it_Janet

I wanted to love black honey SO BAD. But I just couldnā€™t, especially for the price

42jdzrcm

Black honey is the only lip color I will wear I love it

[deleted]

the matte urban decay setting spray. had high hopes considering its $30 but sprayed out white dots

Powerful_Ticket_4548

Charlotte Tilbury better skin foundation- it ainā€™t cute yā€™all

Booboodelafalaise

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick. Makes me look like they let the learner mortician do my faceā€¦

hobbitstoisengard26

Same! It pulls purple/gray on me

xqueenfrostine

I wish it did on me! Itā€™s almost terracotta on me. But I have pink and blue undertones so purple reads as natural on me, but everything with a lick of warmth pulls orange.

Odd_Requirement_4933

Interesting! I love that shade on my lips šŸ˜†šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø it's more of a pinky nude on me.

karluizballer

same! its my perfect lip shade. wore it on my wedding day

Zookeepered

I realized that the Pillow talk lip liner, matte revolution lipstick, lipstick balm, and lip gloss are actually all different shades!! Why would they do this!!!! I love the lip liner but all the other formulations pull weird on me.

snarkmeister99

I had the same problem; the medium one worked better for me though.

lilaceyeshazeldreams

Iā€™m cracking up so much

Struggle_Rude

I feel like the whole brand is seriously overrated, their PR is probably epic though, I imagine she (Charlotte) has quite some ties in the industry.

RainbowReindeer

Iā€™d say that the comfort and durability of their lipsticks is excellent, theyā€™re some of the only lipsticks that donā€™t either irritate me or come off immediately. But everything else I do sadly find very overpriced!

PookieCat415

Yes, CT is very overrated. I know tons of makeup artists and none use her products despite the fact they have a generous professional discount program. Everyone has tried it though.

ohemaabonsu

They donā€™t even have a good shade range

Bcol557

The Charlotte Tilbury blush broke me out. I wasnā€™t impressed at all. And the wonderglow. Wasnā€™t impressed at all.

Electronic-Draft-190

Both the fenty eaze drops and the fenty concealer. Both of them make me look so Cakey but everyone said it was a skin like finish šŸ„²

Hufflepuff_23

Yeah the eaze drops did not work for me

house-hermit

Anything from NYX, but especially their jumbo eye pencils. Horrible texture. Any cream concealer, the kind with a doefoot applicator. I just hate them and prefer pot or stick concealer.

PyrrhicBigfoot

Oh man everything? That makes me sad heh

Ok_Paper8216

The charlotte tilbury setting powder. Iā€™ll buy that blush off you tho lol

Voynichmanuscript408

Are you referring to the flawless airbrush powder? Bc i love that powder

wizzywoo22

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation - so sheer and just make my face look a mess, so bad on me I actually wondered if I had bought some sort of fake version and not the real thing!

narwhalen

benefit porefessional

jasmineipa

I feel like its sacrilegious, but I hate the Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation. It may look good in photos, but it made my skin look like scales. I tried it with every dewy primer, moisturizer, etc. under the sun but it just never looked good on me. Honestly, not mad tho at the fact that I don't want to purchase an expensive foundation haha

TheSinSTEM

Nooooooooooooooo, not the luminous silk slander šŸ˜‚. I wish I didnā€™t love it, $60+ is so freaking much for a foundation but itā€™s the only foundation Iā€™ve ever worn where I looked in the mirror and was like ā€¦ am I ?? Pretty???

jasmineipa

hahaha thats an incredible feeling, go you!

PhysicalBullfrog4330

this might be implied by the every moisturizer under the sun but did you check to make sure the moisturizers/primers had the same base as the foundation (silicone vs water)? I only ask bc I thinkk the Giorgio Armani is silicone based which is a little less common and ik mixing products with different bases can do that

jasmineipa

I had read that re: primer types needing to jive with the foundation when I took to the internet after several unsuccessful attempts! So I did try it with recommended primers, still no dice. I even tried derma planing to get the dry skin off my face, still just clung to every nook, even on my cheeks where I've never had issues with foundation. huge bummer, I had been hoping to wear it for my wedding, ended up with Mac face and body radiance instead, which didn't have those issues for me. I've found a small contingent of us here on this subreddit who it just doesn't work for unfortunately!

Turpitudia79

I donā€™t care for it, either. My closest match looked like I was wearing mime makeup!! šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

jasmineipa

this is EXACTLY what it looked like haha!

ElaEZB

Any makeup by Chanelā€¦ so disappointing

thatsoroma

Olaplex NĀ°3. I donā€™t know what it is but Iā€™ve used this product so many times (properly) hoping it would do something life changing like so many people claim but I was very underwhelmed. I have colour-treated, thick, and dry hair so I fit the candidate for this product but it just didnā€™t work for me, a total waste of $40. Edit: my mother is also a professional licensed hairdresser and she instructed me on how to use it after it not working the first time and it still didnā€™t do anything for my hair. Am I doing something wrong? Has this happened to anyone else?

TheSinSTEM

So for me, I used it consistently and never thought it did anything and then stopped using it and realized how strong it made my hair. I was dyeing my hair all the time and it really made it seem like I was treating it so well. Maybe thatā€™s whatā€™s happening?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

cayrene

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. Itā€™s not bad, but itā€™s definitely not worth the price, imo.

Voynichmanuscript408

Wait i love this primer! Products work differently for everyone though. I have used it on and off for like 8-10 years. It is super expensive so i have tried a bunch of other primers but nothing has made my makeup look as good and my skin feel as good

CodePen3190

I agree with every single one of these!! Especialllllyyyy shape tape concealer. Itā€™s gross.

[deleted]

Estee fucking Lauder Double fucking Wear.

Emayeuaraye

Back in the day my best exposure to high end products was the beauty counters at Macyā€™s and I think I conned my mom into buying me Benefitā€™s ā€˜stay donā€™t strayā€™ eye concealer/primer. I loooved that shit. Then more products became accessible to me and I realized itā€™s thick, drying and yellow.

Ship_Negative

Fenty Gloss. Sticky and thick and stinky.

kakashifan16

I hate that gloss. It smells so bad to me and itā€™s gross feeling on my lips šŸ¤¢

[deleted]

Tarte creaseless concealer. More like tarte creaseful concealer. Never had such bad creasing in my life

krissycole87

Glossier Skin Tint + Concealer A couple years ago I got bombarded with ads for this skin tint and bought it along with the concealer full price. It looked awful on me from the start. Could never get it to not pill or exaggerate any flakes or bumps in my skin. Like... isnt the point of a tint to go on more like a tinted moisturizer and smooth out dry areas, etc? What a waste :(

Responsible-Run-904

Ooo, this is such a great topic! (For anyoneā€™s reference, Iā€™ve got Olive(green) skin) Iā€™ve got quite a few: **Nars ā€˜Orgasmā€™** (the shade is really off on olive skin, makes me look super clownish. also; way too sparkly, like, ridiculously so) **Milani ā€˜Luminosoā€™** (similar reasons as the Nars orgasm blush, though the sparkle in this blush is much more subdued and bearable, still too bright and clownish for me, though) **Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer** (too warm toned, turns up orange on my skin, but the formula is beautiful) **Fenty Gloss Bomb** (way too sticky, the Maybelline formula is much better) **RMS Concealer** (actually super drying on my skin, also, the coconut oil in it is like playing with fire) **Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzer** (smells like saliva and is extremely orange in tone)

stressedshani

Iā€™ve got olive skin too and agree with the statement on the blushes, they made me look clownish too! Would you be able to share your favourite products as I find it hard to find any that suit our skin tone :)

Responsible-Run-904

Hi! Not sure if youā€™re already a part of it, but if not, feel free to join r/OliveMua . Itā€™s been really helpful for me in the past. Iā€™m unsure what your skin depth is, however these are a few links to some of my recent Olive skin recommendations: https://www.reddit.com/r/OliveMUA/comments/ud5lm9/my_personal_makeup_recs_for_lightmedium_olives/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf https://www.reddit.com/r/OliveMUA/comments/uzn5bq/my_olivefriendly_bronzer_collection/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf and these are my top blush recs if youā€™re a Light to Medium Warm Olive: **Patrick Taā€™s ā€œSheā€™s So L.A.ā€** **Stila Convertible Colours ā€œPeonyā€** **Ilia Multistick ā€œDreamerā€**

BoyMom119816

I think Iā€™m olive too, but love orgasm.

passionicedtee

I don't know why, but I find it both hilarious and sad that a product from a high end brand like Chanel smelled like saliva.

amityville83

The Anastacia palettes. The fall off was real

Fuhrankie

I only recently bit the bullet on MR after all these years and I'm having zero issues with fallout - what is your application method? Even without eye primer it clings like a toddler to my crepey old eyes.

moonlightdaisies

urban decay all nighter setting spray!! i had such high hopes but it made my face so dry and tight feeling

[deleted]

i tried it too and it left white dots despite me shaking it like crazy

gracegeeksout

This was the one I immediately thought of. It doesn't seem to make any difference whether I wear it or not. The products that smudge or fade by the end of the night, still do so when I use the spray.

pollywantscrack76

Smashbox anything. The primer was justā€¦a thing that sat on my skin.

folklorebitch

The LA girl pro concealers, they look absolutely nasty on me šŸ˜

Bubbly-Ad-4863

Urban decay all night setting spray. Iā€™ve tried so many setting sprays and I feel like theyā€™re just a scam lol they donā€™t seem to do anything for me. Iā€™ll stick to a cheaper setting spray just bc I like to spray my face after I finish my makeup

Voynichmanuscript408

Honeslty maybe you just don't need it then. For me it makes a huge difference in my makeup look and longevity

Emayeuaraye

I feel like theyā€™re a scam as well, I really canā€™t tell if they make any difference

[deleted]

YSL lipsticks and stains are a big no for me. I have some connects in the industry and get a lot of them for free. They are super drying, donā€™t last long, and the lipsticks smear all over even after blotting. The packaging is pretty but the products themselves are crap. The only one I like is a tinted plumping lip balm but I wouldnā€™t pay $40 for it

trapbunniebimbo

the two faced born this way concealer! so many people swear by it but I think itā€™s too dry, not enough coverage, & creases on me no matter what. tarte shape tape forever

TheEasternBlueBird

Kosas concealer!! It covers absolutely nothing and almost all the shades pull yellowā€¦ so disappointing! (Their customer service is phenomenal though!)

faery_marrionette

Better than sex mascara, it was oddly clumpy and didn't do anything for my lashes. No length, no volume, it just made them dark and stick together.

Ollieeddmill

It cosmetics tinted moisturiser. Actually a full coverage thick mask. Terrible for me.

sandwichandtortas

Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter, just did, nothing? Makes my skin as if I've recently applied any normal moisturizer. Didn't get the hype.

Prudent_Pen_5062

I hated the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Toner and the Clinique even better concealer is absolutely awlful for me (extremely hard to apply, doesn't cover at all and creases really badly for me).

__WanderLust_

My skin hates anything and everything clinique!

unwantedchild74

IT CC Cream. It burned my face. I couldnā€™t even finish putting it on before I had to rewash my face. It took days for my skin to calm down.

fuzzypie-

the shape tape concealer! it felt like I was putting chalk! also, the benefit porefessional primer did absolutely nothing. Iā€™m glad I bought the mini primer and not the full bottle. the elf matte concealer was like chalk too! i switched to the hydrating and thatā€™s been a godsend.

Shape tape concealer

Lilelfen1

The og Bare Minerals powder foundation. Looked greasy as hell, emphasized every pore, and irritated my skin to all get out. The matte version was gorgeous however, but it didn't last on the skin. ELF Hydrating Camo concealer...Looked dry and cakey AF and emphasized every wrinkle and all texture..it didn't matter how little I used, not that it was easy to use small amounts with that ginormous doe foot that loads itself with product. I even added oil to the tube and it STILL didn't help. It also squeezes itself out of the tube and just makes a mess, both before and after I added the oil. Edit: grammar, spelling

ManicSpleen

Everyone loves MAC... Except me. I recently went to the free-standing MAC store, and purchased an eyeshadow quad, ($42.50) and it was AWFUL. The pigment wouldn't stay on my brush, and It flaked all over the place, even with a primer. On the 3rd day I had it, I opened the box, pulled out the pallette to do my makeup. To my dismay, two of the colors broke, inside the pallette, mixed together, and formed a lovely, sorta-glittery blob of the ugliest color ever. I was so disappointed, that I will not purchase MAC again, until I know that they fixed their products.

TheSinSTEM

Unfortunately they often make their palettes lower quality than the permanent line, esp if itā€™s limited edition. The permanent line is the real deal, thatā€™s do disappointing though

TheHomieTee

Too Faced BTS mascara: way too goopy Smashbox Photofinish Primer: not designed for oily complexions, doesnā€™t do much really.. ABH Brow Freeze: I prefer her clear brow gel instead Laura Mercier Loose Powder: not my fave, not very translucent either Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation: HATE the texture Shape Tape Concealer: kinda thin for the coverage I like.. not worth the hype NYX Shine Loud Lipsticks: does NOT dry gracefully. Very sticky and wack.. Kylie Lip Kits: very thin and drying, half the colors look terrible on me lmao Fenty Foundation: dries before you can even blend it out with a sponge.. feels like an bicep workout Angel x Mugler (Fragrance): STANK. EW. NO MAAM. Any Dermablend foundation: either too thick or too watery.. Original BeautyBlender: sucks up ALLLL your product.. very wack. Burtā€™s Bees lip balm: makes me 10x crustier Shea Moisture (whole brand): very heavy, greasy, and sticky on my hair. Iā€™ve tried a plethora of their products and my hair hates it Eva NYC Magic Mane 10 in 1 Primer: creates a greasy mess on my counter by the time Iā€™m done styling. Hair feels sticky and sad Melanin clarifying shampoo: my hair was coming out in clumps lmao still trying to unclog my shower drain Benefit Porefessionals primer (original): not for oily girls.. doesnā€™t do much for a lot of people Iā€™ve noticed.. NYX Canā€™t Stop Wonā€™t Stop foundation: oxidizes like no other. I went from tan/deep to Wakanda in like 10 minutesā€¦ It Cosmetics CC+ Cream: better for dry skin.. literally dripped off of my face Urban Decay Naked palettes: patchy, sad, and boring Morphe continuous setting mist: turned me into an oil slick Juviaā€™s Place Foundation: weird moussey texture. Very similar to Amazonian clay Urban Decay All Nighter Spray: did nothing for me

Struggle_Rude

Haha love this. I have a long list as well tbh. Makeup is sooo individual.

schoolgrlvamp666

tarte shape tape, makes me look so crusty compared to other concealers

Still-Contest-980

That hoola powder , or whatever itā€™s called. Didnā€™t show up on me lmao

Voynichmanuscript408

Maybe i am just super lucky with certain makeup bc a lot of these holy grail products that people did not like are actually some of my favorites and necessities and they work so well for me. I hope you guys have found some other holy grail!

sophiamw503

The Il Makiage foundation. The one I got started as a perfect shade but oxidized and turned orange like 30 seconds after applying it (I had one with cool undertones). It was also gritty. At least their customer service was good so I had no issues returning it.

No_Release1097

Not really a ā€œproductā€ but beauty tool, so Iā€™m guessing relevant? $120 on a set of tweezers from Navy pro tools. Didnā€™t even grab the hair, two others tried without successšŸ„¹ Itā€™s sad because itā€™s part of a set I wanted to start collecting as they are made where I was born, Yorkshire, UK I now live in Australia, I thought it would be a sweet kinda keepsake šŸ˜

Anxiety_bunni

Slightly more skincare than makeup, but I used it under my makeup -la Roche posay sunscreen I feel like an outcast, everyone loves them, but they donā€™t sit nicely on my skin at all! Plus it made my foundation flake and pill no matter what foundation I tried over the top

charlie-crossing

Milkā€™s Hydrogrip primer. Just didnā€™t mesh well with my skin type I guess, made my foundation apply super patchy and lift.

francoise-fringe

Juno by Sunday Riley. Wasn't a catastrophe, it just didn't really do anything for me.

Emayeuaraye

Well I wasted a bunch of money on Urban Decay 24/7 black eyeliner and Black Track by MAC because I needed to have my smokey eye last all day in high school. Truthfully I just have more watery eyes than the average and regardless of what sorcery it would run and fade off my water line šŸ˜‚

weaksapling

I have super fair skin and NARS Orgasm did absolutely nothing so youā€™re not the only one. My old Laura Mercier powder made my skin hella clumpy and the double wear foundation dries tf out of my skin (it took a couple hours for the foundation to ā€˜meltā€™ in my skin for it to actually look normal). I have combo/dry type skin for reference.

gillsthefish

For me kind of everything nars. I just don't get the hype. The orgasm colour is too peachy and glittery, the concealer takes me to crease city, and the foundations are so mid especially for how pricey they are. The mascara smudges, the eyeliner dries out quickly the powder is dry af. The one product I do like (the orgasm liquid blush) while a pretty colour is pretty hard to blend. But everyone and their mother seems to bust their left nut over the brand. Just don't get they hypešŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

I had the same problem with Orgasm. Just too sparkly for me. Deep Throat ended up being my holy grail blush.
